    I bought the Terra Scorcher last year in October as my first Tamiya kit and put a BZ Superstock in it as well as upgrading the A5 part that everyone says fails. It’s seen a lot of use on an old dirt track and I’ve had no issues or breakages except on one occasion when a small rock jammed up the motor. I highly recommended that kit.

    • @RCsoandso
      @RCsoandso  Před 2 lety +1

      I also have a BZ in this and it has the upgraded A5. It did take a bad front crash at high speed and I’m convinced the A5 stopped it from being a disaster, it now has aluminium front knuckles. I’m tempted to upgrade everything to aluminium now and it would be a tank 🤔😆👍

    All the cars look great and seem to preform well but imo the Tamiya Avante is hands down the best looking buggy. I would love to have one some day and hope they are still available. I just ordered a Wild Willie and that will be my first Tamiya and I'm excited to get it assembled and painted.

    • @RCsoandso
      @RCsoandso  Před rokem

      funnily enough I am really tempted with a Wild Willy also, I have a design idea for it, maybe this is a sign for me to pull the trigger 🤔 The Avante is fantastic, but cost wise its at that top end really, especially once Hop ups are added 👍

    • @RCRoads
      @RCRoads Před rokem

      @@RCsoandsoThe Wild Willy is a low cost project. The Avante is quite a bit more considering that I would never want to take it off road. Ideally I would have it in a glass case with a mirrored electric turn table under it. War wounds on Wild Willy will just add character. So no worries about bashing it.

    Great review.👍 I have the Terra Scorcher and Hotshot. Out of the two, the Terra Scorcher (despite it having issues just about every time I take it out😣) is still my favorite overall. Hotshot looks great though. 😎

    Great stuff guys. Like you say they all have their own charm. I have a Terra Scorcher to build and was going to do the usual thing of making it brushless but that might be asking for trouble? Anyway I hope that your oven is ok despite the colour of the clock 🙂

    • @RCsoandso
      @RCsoandso  Před 2 lety +1

      With the Terra Scorcher it all depends what you are planning with the A5 piece 🤔 The oven gets hot when I want it to so all is well regardless of clock colours 😆😂👍

    So the clear and defined winner is I need to get some more 4WD buggies in my life.. Got it!!!! I a off to go get in trouble with my wife!! I do love my PE2 on the track but in the grass is less impressive. For the grassy runs I prefer the ones on the Thunder Shot chassis and those don't seem to do as good on the track (stock at least). I do need a Hot Shot and I guess an Avante now to see how they compare. I give these videos a solid 5 stars as I always enjoy them no matter what color the timer is!

    • @RCsoandso

      I would like another Hot Shot but a box fresh one. This Hot Shot and Avante are part of the Project Dusty when we bought some cars secondhand. All of them did a good job on the day and 4wd handles so well. When you buy some more pretend they are a present for Mrs Addams Playground 😆😂👍

    • @chiefengineer4330
      @chiefengineer4330 Před rokem +1

      It’s pretty close to box art we have given it a light respray to tidy it up due to age and added new re re stickers on the shell as the original ones had degraded and peeled over the years, for its age the shell and wing are in great condition. We have the original wheels they do need cleaning and maybe painting if desired, the original tyres are on them but are past saving they were well used in a previous life. The chassis is also in a great condition but obviously for the age it does have a few blemishes here and there, over all though it is a really nice example of a vintage hotshot
