Your brother is right. The drum roll is that of a Military Court Martial. I think the sound you're looking for is spur's from their boots. He's getting ready to court martial her behind.🤣😂🎶❤️🎵🎼
interesting tidbit for you. Paul Simon was married to Carrie Fisher who played Princess Leia in the original Star Wars movies. If you get a chance you need to react to Simon's song with Garfunkle called The Boxer. Great harmonies
the Boxer is fantastic!
This song is not about Carrie though, it would be like another 5 or 6 years before they met. Songs about Carrie Fisher: Graceland, Hearts and Bones, Diamonds On The Soles Of Her Shoes and I Don't Want No Part Of This Crazy Love.
I was really young when this first came out. I was learning to walk and talk and my mom said I'd get excited at the "hop on the bus, Gus" part because my dad's name was Gus and as I got older I thought it was so cool that my dad's name was in a song.
Paul Simon is timeless. Steve Gadd is the drummer.
LOTS to mine from Paul Simon. Such a great singer/songwriter. Try "Diamonds In The Soles Of Her Shoes".
He has a great song called Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes, featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo which is a South African singing group. It's such a great song, my favorite Paul Simon jam❤️❤️🔥🔥
That's very cool that your brother is getting to appreciate instruments more! I think that's really a big thing for younger people, because the music today doesn't use a lot of actual instruments, not like back in the day. Great reaction by you both!
You'll find some great songs on his self titled and There Goes Rhymin' Simon albums. Graceland too, another wonderful album. His solo work is as good as the music he recorded with Art Garfunkel.
I remember listening to this song in the car with my mom and my sister when I was little. I always liked the chorus!!
Think That's potentially a tambourine your brother is talking about relating the clicking of spurs on boots. That's actually really cool because that's exactly what they sound like. This song has always tickled me. Just slip out the back Jack you don't have to be coy Roy haha! SHOUT OUT TO YOUR HUSTLE AND GRIND GETTING ALL THESE REACTIONS OUT!
Thanks to whoever requested this one. Classic song, one of my personal favorites.
😳😊
As kids when we heard this, we were yelling out those funky lyrics..you know we still remember those words
Love this song!. Fun fact .. that is the great session drummer Steve Gadd front and centre on this track. Check out Steely Dan Steve's solo on the song AJA is rated one of the best ever. Have a great day and thanks for putting a smile on my face!
Oh thats Steve Gadd.Cool! Thanks for that info.I play drums. Not well but I try.lol!
70's classic!
I really like this Pauul Simon album Still Crazy After All Tbese Years . This : the title track and quite a few others are very strong entries in the Paul Somom songbook.
The amazing Steve Gadd on drums!
You're one of the best reaction video channels, very intuitive. Paul Simons "Graceland" album has many amazing tracks, and for another suggestion... the legend that is Bill Withers (especially live performances)
Love your brothers’ appreciation for music…he has a good ear picking up instruments and the sounds that they make! Love watching you both take all this in!
*Your brother is adorable!*
*I swear every time you look at the camera - I think you can see me!* 👀 🤣
*Great reaction/song!!!* 👍🏻
💜💫✌🏼🎵
Its takes DECADES to learn this shit correctly on the drums!!! Drummers talk about this beat like its a test! 💯 When we talk to each other and one of us says "I can play '50 Ways', its the ABSOLUTE power-move statement!!!
I've spent 15 years, and AT BEST, I can half-ass that beat! Its THAT hard to get right! 💯
All props to Steve Gaad... one of the absolute masters of drumming... for CREATING this beat!
(Its sampled on Tribe Called Quest, btw)
Steve Gaad explaining the beat! 😎

I think Common sampled the snare drumming for the song Forever Begins.
You're talking about "Spurs" on a cowboy's Boots. It does sound like spurs jingling, but it's really a musical instrument.
That’s just the most perfect sounding snare You are ever gonna hear
So GREAT to see the music appreciation transformation in your brother, Rico! He’s really listening, learning and expanding. He heard that boot-spur like sound; that’s amazing. I never realized it was there until he spoke about it; Bravo! 👏 👏👏
You are good on your own!
Steve Gadd's riff on this song is one I still use today to warm up on my drums. (it took me 3 weeks to finally get it down pat, but my teacher insisted I learn it) ..a real "Hand loosener" that get' ya ready to play anything else. "50 Ways" was number 1 , and it got there FAST...everyone of all races was diggin' on this one when I was about 16..All right, Reckless!!
No! Check out Paul Simon Graceland but look at the video concert. It was awesome!
That's a funk vibe when they switch it up.
my teen years, great !
Great song
React to Eminem 50 ways, it uses this sample and is 🔥
Legend
Your little brother is cool, and love watching you help him learn.. lovelovelove ❤️✌🏻🌸
He's talking about Spurs on the boots when the old western guys walk
Paul could sing "Mary Had A Little Lamb" and make it a banger.
He’s talking about spurs. Never thought about it but it does sound like them
There's a few rappers that use the music from this song
Check "LATE IN THE EVENING" and "ME AND JOLIO DOWN BY THE SCHOOL YARD"
Boots click was spurs, in this case. there is a small tambourine on the hi-hat, or a small pair of bells.
“Is this a song” 😂. I understand what he meant, though ❤️. YES!! Love the drumming, and as a small kid, I thought the lyrics to this song were hysterical! One of Simon’s best!
The drummer on this track is Steve Gadd, one of the all-time greats.
♥️
Check out Graceland, especially the video, and Rhythm of the Saints. Actually, check out his entire discography, you won't be disappointed.
I think your friend was thinking of spurs on cowboy boots. They kind of make that sound.
I would call it funky blues
Listen to Miley Cyrus singing this song live on SNL. She did a great job!!
Enjoying the reactions with your Bruddah..you both getting meanings and appreciation for the music...I think Sean said the intro drums he said they sound like boots in older movies..unsold folk out here KNOW was talking TAP SHOES.., Sammy Davis Jr, Gregory Hines to Fred Astaire, Cab Callaway... Just watched you both react to Do it again from Steely Dan..and yes ..it's about addiction...what ever it is , love to gambling to to sex to drugs...you go back jack..do it again..it's a cycle...anyway..hope to see more of you two reacting to great bands and artists.👍✌️😁❤️
I think your lil' bro was speaking about spurs on cowboy boots...Ya' know, like...I've got spurs that
Jingle, jangle, jingle as I go riding merrily along...🐎
Not a massive fan of Paul Simon but this song is priceless!
1:58 spurs. I hear it. But it’s actually a tambourine played tight.
Eminem sampled this instrumental on his unknown track “murda murda” from his early years
Ain't no boots clickin' here son....That's all drums...."REAL" drums....
fiddy!!!
Lyrics that were scrolling were off, but it's a great song. Thanks for the choice!
❤️🎶❤️🎶
Check out You can call me Al from Paul S
Hi from Australia
👍👍👍👍👍
This a J Cole beat.
Man Cole flowing on this beat and issa hit.
He's talking about spurs on cowboy 👢
He’s talking about spurs on cowboy boots make that clicking noise.
The drumming in this song is what's called a Cadence. Marching Bands utilize Cadences to keep a pace/rhythm for the Band, Drill Teams, Cheerleaders, Flags Squad (both Military and School [Cheerleading only applies to schools, lest someone wants to be a nitpicky Karen/Daren and call me out, because they think the rest of you are too stupid to know that the Military does not have Cheerleaders marching in Military Parades]), in between performances along the parade route.
This particle cadence is a Military one.
I think your brother is talking about spurs. Cowboys wore them on their boots.
Kid Cudi used this for 50 Ways to Make a Record.
Pinball wizard is a good one from the who
check out Eminems remix to this! its called 50 ways, its an unreleased track from like 09
Do Eminem - 50 Ways
That’s a tambourine
spurs..on the boots
mylie cyrus does excellent cover of this - think it is ;backyard sessions' really great guys!
She did a great cover of Jolene too -- shame she wasted her talent with poor pop music
@@annother3350 jolene is my pick - she nailed it!! lol now i have to hear it again!
@@janbarriault4494 That style is in her DNA!
Do Eminem’s 50 ways to leave your lover next pleeease
Pleeeease😂
I love what you guys do! Bottom line…
Wait, do the Eminem version! Eminem - 50 Ways
Please react to:
Meatloaf - For Crying Out Loud
Mary Chapin Carpenter - I Feel Lucky
How about those background singers?!
I think your guys point may be that "50 ways to leave your lover" is kind of an odd name for a song, hence him asking to make sure. cause it does sound like it could be a book or movie or something. But I dont wanna speak for the guy. Good react.
he is talking spurs...lol I hear it
It's not like 50 Shades of Grey young'n!
The beat is a drummer on a drum kit...how old fashioned is that..
Is this guy Jay Z's son?
I read Somewhere that song p*ssed the feminists of that era...
Prefer Eminem's version
