- I've been in Los Angeles for one year now, and I finally finished my studio apartment tour video! You can see my plants grow/die because it took me so long to finish.

Located within the borders of the Financial District of Downtown Los Angeles. This studio is 760sqft and I pay $2150/mo. Rent prices vary depending on market forces. This is just one layout in the building. The building has several layouts ranging from 600sqft - 1500sqft. Some units are louder than others. Some units get more sunlight than others. Some units don't have a washer/dryer. Pets are allowed with a pet fee. Lots of residents have cute dogs :) I'm not affiliated with the apartment management in any way. This is not sponsored, or monetized in any way. I just wanted to create a YT video to cross it off my bucket list :)
The montage at the end are just a few places! I left so many places out; there are so many places around!
Parking!
I don't park in the building's subterranean lot. I park in the structure across the street, and that's $220/mo. IF you can get a spot in the building's subterranean lot, and that's a big if, I believe it's $150/mo.
Update Feb 22': Parking raised to $250/mo.
Pros:
- Lots of space.
- Groceries and home goods are close by.
- Bars, restaurants and entertainment are close by.
- I can't hear my neighbors at all! If they are blasting music/movies, I can hear it from the hallway, but as soon as my door closes, I can't hear it at all! I MAY hear stomps from the unit above me, but rarely!
- Lots of businesses closed down during the pandemic, but I'm seeing new businesses slowly start taking their places. Slowly. Still many empty spaces.
- The farmers market at Pershing Square just recently came back on Wednesdays (after being shut down for the past 2 years).
- A pop-up market sometimes shows up at Pershing Square on Sundays.
- If the above pop-up market isn't there, the Farmers Market on 5th St. is a block over! Between S. Broadway and Spring St. On Sundays 9am - 3pm.
Cons:
- Lacking amenities. The "gym" is 2 treadmills and uh, a machine.
- The subterranean parking lot is full at the moment, so I have to park at another structure. This is extra aggravating when lugging around heavy or big supplies.
- Gotta chase the sunlight for some direct sunlight.
- The water is hard. Dries out the skin.
- Air feels... dry. Like extra dry. Gotta drink extra water, and lotion up.
- Smoggy
- Loud street sounds.
- Update Feb 22': There's been a lot of package thieves plaguing the building for the past 2-months. There's been a lot reports of stolen packages from tenants.
At $2150/mo + $250 parking. Is it worth it? Hmmmmmmmm. At that price, I'm considering a luxury apartment that has a real full blown gym. But! I do like the 760 sqft, and I think the location is great too.
Of course you've seen the homeless problem in Los Angeles.
While there are no encampments in close proximity, there are wandering homeless. For the most part, most of the homeless are nice people who don't really cause any trouble. But there are also the crazies who scream at people or at nothing in particular.
The closer you get to skid row, the sketchier it gets.
Have I been attacked or robbed? No.
Have I been intimidated, yelled at, cursed at? Yes.
Do I feel safe? For the most part, Yes.
During very late late hours.. ehhhh don't feel so safe. Though I have walked .5 miles back to the apartment several times in the early AM with no problems.

the use of the space is beyond admirable
You're right in the middle of everything! I love DTLA. I moved to LA six months ago and love it.
Have you thought about doing ASMR videos? Your voice is perfect for it. Soothing and relaxing! Nice apartment btw!
haha i've never thought about it! I'll have to consider it now lol. Thank you for your kind words :)
I looked at this in my search recently it’s nice to see someone show their actual space. What I love most about LA is the sunrise. Every morning on my visit felt like a bath for my insides. I love your setup.
Still trying to get my own apartment as of right now. Your place is literally the part time dream apartment I have been looking for☺️
Love your style! Thanks for the fantastically transparent video on your place. Helps a lot.
You have a very nice place, it's seem that you are a low-key peaceful person which is wonderful. Continued Success to you and God Bless😊
thank you for the kind words, you put a smile on my face :) wish you good fortune!
Your place is absolutely gorgeous ! You have great taste in home decor ! A great looking guy like you deserves to live in a gorgeous place like that !!
You have such a cool apartment and I love all the windows !!! Thanks for sharing 💙💙💙🏴🏴🏴
Thankyou for showing your studio loft apartment. This is the first apartment tour that has no living room area. I like the tall ceilings and the walkable surroundings. The studios looks very spacious.
you did a wonderful job with the apartment! I love all the plants as well, very aesthetic. You voice is so soothing :)
:D thanks homefry!
I love the layout of your apartment. Also, you have done a wonderful job with your place. I am surprised they didn’t not do double windows to muffle the noise. So many great places to go in that area!
Great Space love the definition of flow in it. Thanks for sharing your space.
Your place is so neat & tidy. Thanks for showing us at the places that you can walk too. I like the music that you are using. You dont have to worry about gas prices.
thank you and thank you!
True about gas prices! however! Recently i find myself leaving this area more and more 😛
Love the the apartment, but omg, the noise on the rooftop!!!! I could never deal with that :D

I Love your home the windows are Amazing and you could do voice over work very calm anyway thank you for sharing.
Beautiful place! $2150 in DTLA isn’t bad. My brother lived near you down 6th.
oh shoot we probably passed each other a few times lol.
Well, when I lived there at least lol.
Can you do videos of you going into ur favorite restaurants, stores, places in DTLA in this style too lol
i will try!
Love your place! Where did you get the rug under the bed? I want it so bad lol
What ? Awesome . I live in Manhattan and this place would easily go for 3100 + .
This makes me feel a little better :) lol. 3100 is insane, too rich for my blood.
love it
I love how he looks
Next for sure
What an awesome apartment but I was cracking up at how many items in your video I actually have myself!
😂lol thanks homeskillet! Let me guess, amazon stuff!?
@@lunathebryant Some yea lol but more specifically the versacart, and the D&G cologne lmao
Looking very nice..
thank ya much :)
What a great video, and love ur adorable apt , love its walking distance to everywhere I love that type of living . Also if u don't mind me asking what do u do that allows you to live and work from home? Only asking because I been wanting to do it but don't know were to start and all this CZcams videos gurus that lie so much I just don't trust any of it! LOL . And I been wanting to move somewhere warm with my fur baby and work from home . Thank u 🙏 .
Thank you! So I moved out of DTLA almost a year ago. Got pretty dirty, loud, dangerous lol. Felt paranoid walking around. It was slowly healing from the Pandemic. But as stores/restaurants and people move back in, I'm sure it will be a bit better. The "south park" area of DTLA is a bit nicer.
As for what I do, I am a Web Developer for an e-commerce site. Pre-pandemic, I commuted to the office everyday. Post-pandemic, we downsized the office and those who could WFH, stayed at home. I am fortunate enough that our company and CEO saw the benefits, productivity, and cost-savings from the WFH model. So certain positions have remained WFH, and others moved to a hybrid model (2-3 days office). Some others do have to go into the office 5x. Really depends on the nature of the job.
Productive
I live in LA and I pass by this building often. It looks like it has an indo-islamic architecture style with all the semi circles and columns.
Nice tour. I like the pillow on the bed. How do you entertain guests?
usually when I had friends come visit, i would take them out to close bar or restaurant. Or hang out on the rooftop.
Admittedly, I didn't create a cozy space to entertain :P
Nice apartment
thank you sir (i moved away lol)
Fresh air
Period 💯
Good enough
Come out to the central coast.
New man low key
That's a house payment outrageous
Voice👍
So what do you for a living? I don’t think you talked about that. Gorgeous apartment ❤️
Muchas Gracias! Appreciate it!
I do Web Development :) A mixture of Salesforce dev work + Front-End work. But mostly Front-End :D
Brain sounds great
Oo you fancy
Okay but in all seriousness, I wish more people would do these detailed, in depth reviews of apartments instead of angry yelp reviews 😂
Love the dark wood and green plants. Need to add more area rugs. $2,000/month is a mortgage. Where is the equity renter?
rugs woulda been nice!
Back in the day, I was considering buying a condo in DTLA. Lived there for a bit to experience it.
Conclusion: Never buying a condo in DTLA lol.
New poppy
He look good to me
I would like the opportunity to work with you
Why are studios so freaking high in this city! I'm in the process of trying to find a new apartment unit in the DTLA/Koreatown area and it has been a nightmare! lol
lol i feel ya.
This past august, almost every apartment building instantly shot up $300 to $500. I guess because of summer pricing and influx of new residents? Now, they've "lowered" it since then but still... still damn high.
AND my monthly parking just went up from $220 to $250 :(
I was looking at KTown too! Good luck on your search quest lol.

What’s Sq Ft? What floor you on?
760 sqft.
I can't say the exact floor, who knows who be reading these comments lol.
I will say i'm in the middle of the building lol.
@@lunathebryant - 760 is very good.
I'll saying his name
Everyone not taken
You are so neat
muchas gracias :D
When I was in my early 20's I was paying $630 a month for a two bedroom. How do you afford the rent and parking space cost? Parents helping you?
So it wasn't my greatest financial decision, but it wasn't supposed to be either lol. For sure my savings accumulated up slower.
I was able to live at my parents for quite a while before moving out on my own, so I saved up quite a bit.
Don't know if I look young, but i'm in my mid 30's now lol. Parents not helping.
@@lunathebryant Thanks for the reply. I had a friend that for many years lived in DTLA in a converted office building. Being in my 50's at this point and knowing what I was paying back when I was in apartments I just dont know how people do it today.
Can you sustain that long term? I mean, how long do you feel you can live there?
@@bombaybeach208 True true. Roommates or a partner seems to be the solution for many.
But I've also noticed some acquaintances of mine put so much income into rent, that there's not much leftover for diversions, saving, going out, entertainment. So they get stuck inside their apartment.
As for myself, I was on track to get myself a little home with the help of my parents. But, I found myself a partner. And with the dual-income, I definitely have wayyy more breathing room nowadays :)
I actually moved out of DTLA this past year. I thought it would recover quicker, but, ya know lol.
@@lunathebryant Quite honestly, DTLA is probably the last part of LA I would want to make home...
@@bombaybeach208 LOL i know that now :)
Dad last name Bryant he used Atkins because it's money either ways
Where goatsie
a man of culture i see
If u need a personal assistant or anything in that manner lmk i work at WholeFoods next to you , I would like to network with you.
oh hello! hmm maybe we've passed each other before lol.
for sure! I'll keep ya in mind. I've been lagging on the videos, life has been pretty busy lately :)
@@lunathebryant it’s been busy let me help you out then Lmaoo . I grew up in south LA and wanna be in your position
He looks likes
Why do Americans never start the apartment tour from outside the door? Once they start off already in the apartment I lose interest :
it's very nice but for that kind of rent money can buy the house which is mortgage (depend on where the location - city or town and states) wise less than what you are paying on your studio apt. sorry
Could literally move 20 minutes away and get a 2 bedroom in a safe neighborhood for the same price. Poor guy.
Away from cowards
Crazy price considering the area is dirty and overall crime rate is high
true true. can't deny it lol.
I was born in LA, and wonder why people live downtown. Crime, crime, crime.
I am going to annoying you all the time :) :p
lol
guess who
huh!! get outttaa hereee 😛😛
It is strange that you new generations enjoy renting expensive tiny homes for a living. While going all cancel culture over the slightest matters that do not affect you directly. Not even owning an asset!
