thanks so much you’ve helped me learn like 6 completely new higher topics that i never knew i would be able to do i’ve just started watching and the space of three days i’ve learnt so much the only problem is i really struggle with understanding exam questions and would really appreciate it if you could make a video on exactly how answer exam styled questions that are written in a harder format to understand
Simon Deacon here on YT is great for going through exam questions and papers.
@@KKMDB it’s 3 minute maths now

loving your way of teaching /explaining maths that i thought was impossible to figure out. Please keep up your videos you legend. :)
Flynn Simpson Thank you so much for the feedback I’m so glad to hear the channel is working out for you! 😁🙏🏼 let me know if there are any particular topics you are struggling with!!
@@TheGCSEMathsTutor Yes. I have just started back at school and your videos have really helped me get a head start. I will definitely comment in the future with any topics i am struggling with. Im glad you replied back and are offering help if i need it. 😁🥰👨🏫
Flynn Simpson great to hear! Keep up the great work 😁
@Elisha Jacoby guys its a scam I've seen so many people saying this
@@alinalilka8430 lol
before this, i had to watch multiple videos and learn from many people to grasp and understanding of some math topics, and even then i'd forget after while.
your channel is amazing, i get the concepts almost instantly and when i do the questions alongside w the video, i always get them right now, and my igcse is the day after tomorrow, so i really appreciate stumbling upon this channel.
it's literally a lifesaver and i'm practically glowing and i feel so relieved and am less stressed about the paper.
thank you for your work and keep going! we need people like this.
-a (previously) stressed student
this is so helpful, gcses start in a few weeks and i really need to get a 6 in maths, i will watch ur vids frequently from now till gcses. good luck everyone in exams!
bro i hated these higher questions and hoped these wouldn't pop up in my exam but after watching this and practising some more im so confident i can ace those questions, YOUR A LEGEND THANK YOU!!
Thank YOU
some much! i have mocks in a few weeks and my teacher was trying to explain this topic but she over complicated it. Your way of teaching really help me so Thanks !
I’m so glad to hear that! It’s always helpful to hear different methods and have different option so I’m really glad this one worked for you 😁🙏🏼
The way I never understood maths and now because of your videos I’ve started to understand everything is really insane and out of my mind thanks a lot u help me alottttt
my igcse is in 3 days and i've been watching your videos, they are so helpful. thank you so much please know you make such a great impact!!!
Thank u before this I couldn’t even make x the subject in really simple equations now I’m feeling more confident on this topic thanks a lot :)
BEST YT CHANNEL EVER, HOW DO YOU TEACH THIS SO WELL?
you are a life saver to all of us
This channel is actually amazing. It gets me good grades and its the best way go learn so thank you!
thank you ive always found these confusing, but this has helped so much, thank you so much
had an hour long session on how to do this last week at school and understood none of it, Came to these videos and suddenly the whole topic made sense! genuinely a lifesaver man, thanks!
Thanks I literally understood the whole thing in only under 1 minute thanks to you
Guys. if its slightly different to the maths tutor then you're good; you still got it right
For the question at 6:10 , I think you can also take 10y from both sides after the first stage to be left with 5x = 2px - 3p - 10y which goes on to give an answer of x = 2px-3p-10y all over 5. Inserting the same numbers into y, p and x for both of our answers, the outcome is the same
thank you! I didn't understand this topic even after 2 100 minute lessons, but this has helped me so much and I actually got the practice questions on the video correct after struggling so much!
Thanks ive got a math exam soon and this was a real help thanks.
Thank you so much for teaching/explaining maths. You are a great teacher. Please don't quit this because you are helping lakhs of students :)
Thank you so much for your kind words! It’s really appreciated 😁
Thank you. I started watching your vids from November(I was at a 4 then) and now I’m currently working at a 7. I have gcse in 3 weeks hopefully I can get to 8-9.Your videos really do help 😊
when it comes to rearranging the equation, you said you can get 2 answers. Will the 2 answers both be correct of just the one you show?
This is an excellent lesson
this was so helpful omg thank you
Glad to hear it! 🙌🏼
Year 9 really helped me thanks 🙏
So glad to hear it 😁🙏🏼
at 5:58 could you also get 3p-10y if youd have moved them to the other side instead??
Thank you so much ❤️❤️
Very helpful thank you
Could you make a video on forming and solving equations. (Higher)
Meerkat King Absolutely! I’ve bumped this to the top of my GCSE to-do list for you! I’m just focusing on some a-level videos right now but it will be my next GCSE video for sure 😁🙏🏼
Thanks so much keep up the amazing work
No problem! I’ll do my best! 😁🙏🏼
Please when the grouping of the Xs' is done on the other side like maybe the right hand side, a different answer is gotten from when it is done on the right hand side. Are both correct.
thank you!!
Your a lifesaver fr fr
So glad to hear I could help 😁🙏🏼
Great video as always - quick question to anyone who can answer - obviously it's relevant whether you end up with say, 5 - 2p as opposed to 2p - 5. Is there a rule for getting them in the right order? eg: should the number always go last? Thanks and good luck to everyone doing their exams this year - I'm feeling your pain
exactly what i was wondering, i dont really know what to do when it comes what side I should choose
Yeah same cos for the first one I got the same but with different signs and order cos I moved the like terms to a different side.
i believe that both options would be right
Imagine the - is attatched to the 2p. So 5-2p can be written as -2p + 5. It can’t be written as 2p-5
I have this question for my homework . I have done this but can you just please double check to see if I have done it correct so I know how to do the rest?
Here is the question
2x+2y=P
Make x the subject
Firstly, 2y is on its own so you can move it to the other side so now the equation is
2x=P-2y
To get x just divide by 2
So the final answer is
x= P-2y over 2( p-2y numerator and 2 denominator)
Have I done it correctly??
Sounds perfect to me! 😁🙏🏼
4:44 the answer is as shown but if I were to move the x value to the opposite of what you have done I will get an answer of -y-5z/(z-4) which is inversely to your answer, would it be correct in the exam????
I was thinking the same thing rather it would be right or not
I would say keep the x where it is so then there's no variations. Hope this helps.
for the first practise one i got -y-5z/p-4 = x, is that still right?
At 10:09 can the answer be 5z-3/ 1-Z would that still be right or does it have to be in that order
For the question 4x-y=z(x+5) can the answer be -y-5z/z-4 =x
Also, your videos are truly helpful . Thank you so much!
thats what i was wondering
Thank you bro I thought I got it wrong
I got this aswell and i wanna know if its right
This makes so much more sense, thank you again!
No problem at all! Which topic is next? 😁
@@TheGCSEMathsTutor Well I've just got a list of topics to revise for my upcoming exams, I'll be watching your vids for help 🙂 they help so much, I appreciate you making these videos as they really help!!
@@sukiestar8401 Amazing news! If you can’t find any in the playlists let me know, sometimes revision lists have topics named slightly differently! Are there any that stand out that you’re not sure of? 😁
@@TheGCSEMathsTutor Do you have a video for factorising quadratics in the form ax2+bx+c or solving equations in the form ax2+bx+c=0?
Hello, at 8:37 i got a different answer because i took away zx instead of the x at 9:21, so the solution i got was x = (5z-3)/(1-z) would this be correct as well?
teacher if I took different number from the ones you took
to different side and got same answer with different digit like negative is that okay
Very helpful :)
good work
Thank you, I found this very helpful
can i leave the things in brackets or do I have to simplify them
for the first question at 7:13 i got -y-5z over p-4 = x
is this still correct?
i got the same however the p-4 was a plus instead
never mind i realised what i done wrong xd
I got the exact same
how do uk when to move the x on right or left side
You can go either way! Just got to pick one 😁🙏🏼
thank you
For 4:35, is it still correct if you put all the x's on the other side and got (-y-5z)/(z-4) = x?
think so i tested it and both formulas get the same number for x if you use 2 numbers for z and y
What were the other possible answers for the last 2 questions?
How do you know which way to move the x , like why does the x go to left sometimes then to the right sometimes?
Idk
What grade range am I looking at with these type questions? A 6?
just revising, but for eg z=x-2/x+3 can you put the answer as x=3z-2/z+1
For the question at 7:31 would -2p-12y/3-5p also be a correct answer
i got the same and im confused too. I think that works
same
for the question on 6:33 would the answer 3p+10y over 2p-5 still be right
Meerkat King Absolutely!!!
@@TheGCSEMathsTutor can it also be 3p-10y/5-2p instead of 10p+3p/2p-5? because i did it the other way?
does it matter which side you choose to rearrange the x in? because i get different answers but the same layout. or is that normal?
i think both options would be right
@@leilaparker537 yeah i realised lol
For the third example, can you have an answer of x=-3p-10y/5-2p. Would the answer be correct?
i got that too, i feel like that would be equivalent to the answer he gave
at 10:05 could you not also say 5z-3/1-z ?
Can you help explains this
X=square root (absquare +c
Devide de
Making c the subject
Use Microsoft math solver
hi there, at 10:09 I chose to move the brackets a different way because you said it didn't matter in this case and I got : 5z-3/z-1 is that still correct ?
Danielle Chad Sounds fine to me!! 😁🙏🏼
@@TheGCSEMathsTutor would mine still be right too since I got 5z-3/ 1-Z
This was really helpful. But what about when there is a fraction on both sides? That messes my brain
A great question! You just have to multiply both denominators to the other side side of the equals sign 😁🙏🏼
How come i keep getting the right answers but the powers are all opposite- like instead of 2x - 3 i get 3 - 2x?
hi, for the third question i minused 10y and 2px and my final answer was x = -10y -3p / (5 - 2p). is this wrong because i dont know what numbers im meant to move to what side
thats what i did and i have no idea which way to move the numbers
why not factorise at the begining?
I did it the other way for most questions and got the same answer with different signs. I am rlly confused.
Yeah same but i set all the variables to a random number and substitued it to my answer and his and we got the same answer in the end so i think its allowed
13:19 would x= -2-3z/z+1 be correct doing it the other way for question 1?
I got the same
I think its still correct tho you just decided to move x to a different side
8:28 Hey would my answer be wrong for the 2nd question if I got
x= 2p-12y/3-5p
that's what I got too, it is right?
7:29
I got X= +5Z-Y/(-P+4)? I moved the 4X to the otherside at the start so I think consequent the symbols oppose to the answer you got is that still correct, can you have more than one answer?
Great videos btw you make it a lot easier to engage with the lesson :)
Absolutely there are usually two different answers to these type of questions 😁🙏🏼
Dear matbs tutor, great vid but could u please not use z's because they look like 2's
@Callese who tf are u
@Callese no one was speaking to u 🤐
Lol I kept getting confused between my z's and 2's when doing the questions
Hi sir I love your videos they are so helpful as I have my gcses approaching,
for the question at 12:10 I took away the 2 first ,
This made my final answer x=-2-3z/(z-1)
Is this still correct?
Yes it is.
@@lola100yearsago8 ok good i did the same thing
I dont understand when we're supposed to bracket an answer and when not to.
Could the answer for the first question also be x = 3z-y/(3-2)?
I got x= -y-3z / 3-z .
Does higher math means AL math or OL math?
i dont get it can you please help me?
for the first question, could you not just divide by z????????
please stop using 'z' it looks too much like a 2
Well it's good he uses it here cos later on in the exam you won't be confused
@@Maxtreon. nah not really cause he’s hand writing them, it’s different compared to printed ink
Niceeee bro 💯🔥💪👏🙏🏅🥇🏆🌟🙏👏💰💰💰😁🙏👏
Thanks!!!! Hope it helped?
The GCSE Maths Tutor Yeah your a legend 👑
I'm confused on like when you start idk what to start
For 13:04 if you removed the stuff from the other side wouldn’t you get -3z-2/z-1 =x which is different to yours?
But other than that thanks for the teaching and questions
12:23 why is it 3Z
The only thing I don’t get is which side to get the x on???? Or does it not matter
Apparently it doesn't
It was good video but I just don’t get this lesson even in skl I struggle on this ugh
What exam board is this for???? Please say edexcel
It’s the same on all exam boards 😀 so yes.. Edexcel!! 👌🏼
Thanks now I can use ur vids to help me
i totally do not understand. Is ot necassary to learn this for higher or can i just leave this topic out
Gemma Khan Yes! Rearranging formula is an essential component of algebra 😁
@@TheGCSEMathsTutor do u reckon i can get a 6 without learning this. Like i understand the basics of changing the subject but simply cannot get my head round these harder formulae. Is there possibly any hope of getting a 6
Gemma Khan Ofcourse you can!!! This is right at the top end of rearranging formula, which part throws you? If you can identify the step that throws you then maybe I can help? You just need to get any piece containing the letter you are trying to make the subject on one side and everything else on the other side, from there you factorise the subject out and divide by the bracket (tried to write that out as simply as possible!) - if you watch a few you will see a lot of similarity in these questions! 😁
@@TheGCSEMathsTutor basically uno at 3:35 i dont understand wth you done to the y. Arent you supposed to minus zx from both sides. So confusing.
I don't understand. Help. Please
