This really hurts me. I`ve had a brother who was 9 years older than me. We didn`t see echother often because he lived far away and due to his studies we didn`t get to talk to eachother very often either. 2 Years ago, he then suddenly had a brain Hemmorhage and passed away at age 25. I didn`t get to say goodbye or anything in that way. We hadn`t seen eachother in Months then and nobody knew why it happened to him. I still have many regrets to this day because i feel like we wasted so much time by not talking to eachother. If i`d knew something like that would happen to him, i would`ve used every free minute to be with him but we can`t turn back time and what happend can`t be undone. I really hope these two will talk more and treasure the time they have together. you never know what will happen in Life...
What do you do when this sibling turns out to be an ahole in life and you just dont care much about them or their life because they are just awful to be around or get to know?
I'm sure your brother was a great person and I can see why you regretted it but I have a sister who I don''t care much for because she's a type of person who, if we were not related, would not be caught with no time of the day. I'm sorry for your loss. I lost a friend and we had a fight the night before he passed and it kills me. I just have this hope that somehow he knows my regrets and I will even talk to him out loud... just to feel like a weight has been lifted, like he's listening or something. Theres no right or wrong way to grieve but I feel like you should go easier on yourself. (hug)

Cindy T well he got used to it and it would be awkward for him to claim he is curiois suddebly moreover he gets all news out of his mom and bcs he is older it was harder for him to express affection and keep eye contact bcs he knows he hurted his mom with this problem but people are saying he is pridefull and didn't want to reconcil as much as the younger one but he got so used to it it's been 9 years you know and once he tried to get close he was brushed off and he thought that the other hated him so it got more severe so such missunderstandings made it hard to start again
well the older brother wrote in, so it's not like he doesn't care or is not willing to try. It's just that being around his brother intimidates him greatly because I think he still feels guilty over what happened 9 years ago.

@@jessijess8806 no actually nothing changed on the relationship between us. I tried talking once a week like they said, then more. She never hang up on me, but she never called back and she spoke with one-word answers or not at all. Then I tried texting too. I invited her many times to my home she never came once.
It came to the point I asked why and she told me she doesn't want me, she said I'm too much and she thinks I think less of her somehow as a person. I of course explained that I never thought like that about her and I love her, I loved her since birth and I took care of her. she said that she knows that, then she was dismissive I tried to confront the situation again she told me I'm too emotional,she started making fun of my feelings. After taking, it came down to the point where she has resentment, jealousy, unreasonable competitiveness, I think because of her so low self esteem. And maybe I'd think It's my fault, if I were here with her all these years or done anything, but I actually was abroad working for 10years. And before I leave we didn't have any issues, she loved me just fine and our fights would be normal like who gets to sit on the tv or don't touch my makeup type of fights and not often. So I don't know where this is coming from at all. So all the effort help with nothing but making me more sad and feel rejected again for nothing that's my fault anyway.because I'm the oldest I thought it should be me who should try to amend the relationship and I tried for about 2 years. Plus the time I was abroad I tried to have contact. But after that I find it pointless. So I told her that I love her and she knows where I live she has my number and it's up to her.
I thought if she has issues she's an adult now and she can address them herself. She has the right to not want me in her life for her reasons. I can't do anything about low self esteem and her other issues and I definitely won't be needy and begging for my sister to like me love me etc. If she doesn't well she doesn't. It is what it is I've done my part I tried. It's over. I'm thinking why would I want someone who dismisses me, hates me and disrespects me and doesn't want me or love me in my life? Why should I be the one who tries? And for what? We are practically strangers. Truth is I no longer miss her. I don't think of her anymore for the past year. I never hated her or jealous her or done anything to deserve such behavior. So why would I feel like I have to fix it? No, It's is what it is she made her choice. I made mine a year ago, today I feel like I never had a sister and it feels good actually all the stress is gone. I made more progress on life in one year not dealing with her, thinking or talking with her than I made in 4 years. I am able to focus on me instead of begging for my sister to accept me I realized I lost all that energy on her feeling down. Especially when she'd give me attention show she loved me sometimes when she wanted stuff and then ghosting me again. No thanks. If I had to go back in time, what I'd I do different is I'd try once or twice to amend the relationship and then stop. Not wondering why, what did I do wrong,how is this my fault etc. Now I see her like the distant relative who you never see or talk in your life unless you meet on a wedding or a funeral and say hi and walk away, never think of her again. If she texts or calls on some occasion then again I feel like that random relative texted so it's not a big deal anymore. I really recommend it to anyone who's reading this and going through a similar thing, to just ignore them and move on. No resentment, no hard feelings just don't care 💅 move on and forget about it.

It’s prob because the older one feels embarrassed and like he messed up when he hit his younger brother. It’s really hard to own up to it all and he felt like he tried and got shut down by his little brother. Turns out the little brother was always looking up to his older brother and waiting on him to notice him
But if you listened well the older brother tried to make up with him a few times and he refused. He was the one who walked away when they were supposed to take a photo together! True, but i think the older brother is much more shy or maybe introvert so it must be difficult for him to ask the help of the program.
I say it is a big effort on his part too. The younger brother, I can see it came easy on him since it seems like he is much more confident and outgoing he was just waiting for his brother to make the first move.
The effort will depend on the personality of an a person, I am an introvert so I can recognize that the older brother is a little bit like it. If not he must be a very private person and does not enjoy being in the limelight.
Ah this made me cry so much because I just lost my older sister 6-7 months ago and it hurts me seeing this because we weren't that close but we started getting closer as we grew up. Talk to each other because if you dont, you might lose them and it'll be too late to go back. I just had memories of my sister and I miss her so much..

I have two younger brothers and we talk daily.
22:36 this made me emotional because that was the exact advice my late grandma would give my little brother and i whenever we fought and now although him and i are much older, we don’t fight much these days and even without communicating for a few days, we always manage to end up in the kitchen and talk for hours and hours to catch up. we’d also do little acts of service for each other and my brother would often ask me to join if my parents and him go for a drive to get food. this is a really important piece of advice for siblings, you only have each other once everyone else is gone and the sibling bond can’t be replaced. love ur siblings, everyone !!! 💞💞

Omg I loved this episode! I've been wanting an update on the episode were the brothers were fighting and i finally got it, So happy that they're getting a long. It was good that he came on to show again to tell them it's just a waste of time not talking to your siblings because life is already hard, why make it harder.I can already tell that their relationship will get better. The younger one seems like he wants to and the older one just doesn't know how since he's awkward.

This was actually one of the best episodes and most emotional that I watched I'm kinda having the same concern with three of my siblings where we had a fight and never talked again unless it's necessary.. I used to cry alot by myself because I missed talking to them but with days going we just got used to it which is very sad. It's very true the ones mostly affected by this are our parents. I hope one day we will speak out and make up with each other.

Hi. We are 5 siblings. I'm the youngest and my brother who's a year older than me doesn't talk to us. I remember how we were so close when we were younger then something changed in him. He became defiant, hateful and aggressive. I think I know the reason but I'm not sure if it really is. He doesn't talk to me, my siblings and even my parents.
He caused so much trouble in school until college. There were guidance counselor, dean, abused girlfriend, illegal drugs and failed classes. He stopped college when he was 3rd year. My parents were so devastated.
I realized one thing our family lacks communication. After that they acted as if nothing happened. As if there was no problem. Until today, we were stuck to the same old routine. Act as if everything is normal, when in reality we are a dysfunctional family.
Sorry I just have to share this to let it out. Thanks. ☺

my brother and I would probably be on this show, we are so aggressive, we get in physically fights, someone ends up getting hurt and crying and the other gets neglected for the whole day after some yelling, we push each other in the hallway, try to argue on any topic, etc.

I am sorry to jump into conclusions without knowing them better but It looks like the big brother is trying to fix their relationship but the younger brother is still holding some resentment... I hope they can really work it out :(
This is what I thought too at first but if you watch all of it, you start to notice that the younger brother isn't the one with resentment. I thought the same thing but later in the show they ask the old brother if he cares how the younger is doing or what he's been up to and he says not really or something like that. Then after they try to do the eye contact thing the older is the one that won't look at him in the eye. Wow how it all changed once you get to know them a little better from the questions they get asked. Old brother says he manages an idol and you start figuring out that the young one is the one that has been pushed away and ignored by his older brother and that's probably why he dislikes him but seems to want to make up but the older just seems starts to look bad so he starts to 'pretend' (my opinion) after he starts to look bad.
If you watch the whole thing it's actually the opposite.
Frank Narf well I think both of them want to make up again but his older brother looks like a person who has a lot of pride. That's why he's like that I guess. If he never want to make up, then why bother come to hello counsellor at the first place. And looking at the last moment when they ask him to say love you to his mom, he wouldn't do it, I think it's true that he is a person with a lot of pride
@kira I personally know what they going through. I honestly think one of them just doesn't like the type of person the other one is. I have a sister who is 5 years younger then me and at one point she started drinking a lot and became a totally different person and would refuse to pick up my phone calls and even talk to me. As we grew up, our parents would punish us with belts and such, you know how parents can be in the 1980's. Our parents are religious and of course I would pick and hit my little sister when I would get in trouble and she resented me for that. Once I hit 15 years I realized that hitting others was wrong and I started to 'make up' for it but she hated me for it even though we were kids back then. When she got drunk she would tell her friends how awful of a brother I was and such.
Anyway in short I also ended up hating her personality. She'd become very arrogant and selfish and I had to help my parents out when they would get sick and she wouldn't come home at all for nothing. After a few years went by she became religious and started to seek forgiveness we sort of made up but I honestly don't miss her because I got used to it and she hadd turned into a person who I didn't like. So I don't even call her or miss her only because I just don't like her personality. It's sad I know but sometimes you just don't like the typpe of person other people are and be it blood related or not, you just don't care much for them.
I personally had an uncle on my mother's side who would beat us both with a belt, until this day I resent him because even now after he got married and had his own kids he beats them because 'God' says so to do it in the Bible...hate religious people that follow a book blindly.
Anyway I just think the brothers just don't care for the other because they know how shitty they probably are. And I think thats fine. Stay away from awful people and live your life. No one going to die for it. xD

It's true that when you're sick or had problems the only one you can hope for is your family. So I hope things will be better for you and your sister somehow. omg this made me cry. i’ve had a lot of fights with my sister and the longest time we didn’t talk to each other was one week, and then one day I just found mysef talking to her and teasing her as usual. I can’t imagine myself not talking to my siblings for 9 years since. I always talk to them and we’ve created a relationship with each other and shared a lot of things together (including clothes😂). They were there to listen to my concerns that I can’t tell to anyone else, even my parents.
i think it's sad that they're like this. i have two brothers and although they make me so fucking mad sometimes i still love them. they're the closest relations to me and i grew up with them. my brother's have hit me but i forgive and move on

This makes me feel apologetic to my mom. I'm seeing how real her fears of my sisters and I falling out were.
When we would get in fights, she would come up with all kinds of things-- make us hug, hold hands, live as inseparable twins until we had "worked it out..." Sometimes she got upset and said, "Someday, you are going to be the only thing each other have." Our relationship isn't perfect, but we know we have to maintain a relationship.

I think people don't realize just how important your siblings are to you. When you grow old and think of the past, it becomes a regret, time that can't be given back. My little sister and I were never on good terms since childhood and I was never a good brother to her. She went abroad for her studies 12 years ago and came back in 2016. By that time both her physical and mental health had been in a steady decline. Still I ignored her and went about with my daily life. Just two weeks ago she had to be rushed to the hospital when she vomited blood. Forty-eight hours later she passed away in the ICU. I regret never having the chance to reconcile with her and care for her like other good brothers. But what's the use of tears when everything has already ended? I believe I will bear this pain to the last of my days. So I beg those siblings out there, please don't turn away from each other. You don't want to live in regret for the rest of your lives. I just want you to know how valuable the bonds that tie a family together are.

this really brought tears to my as it made me realise its still not too late to change things around in my relastionship with my brother. Though we haven't been on good terms for almost 6 years despite the fact that we live in the same house! just like these brothers, we used to be so so close when we were a child as our age gap was only a year... at first as we are both August babies, we loved the fact that we shared birthdays and always had one birthday together. Slowly, things just started to get awkward and we hated sharing birthdays.. after the age of 12 we almost became strangers and to this day we barely talk together.. but seeing this made me realise that one of us has to make the effort and i think i will as the older one
I’m honestly the person who always stop talking to my siblings after they have done something bad to me. But then after some days of not talking at all, I just apologize because this is ridiculous. I almost didnt talk to my sister for 4 years because she was kind of a bully but other people would say ”Its just how sisters treat each other”, making me feel bad all the time when i havent done anything is not sister love but kind of a bully. So I stopped talking to her, ignored her like she didnt exist..but after some years when she matured up i apologize for nothing because this shouldnt continue, now we are closer than I thought. Yes sometimes we argue but then it gets back to normal.

you just have to force yourself to have an honest conversation with her. even if she doesn't want to do it at first, keep trying to approach her about it (in a concerned way, not an aggressive way) until she says yes. even if you end up fighting or feeling sad when you talk, it's okay. you just have to keep talking over time to work it out. if you never say anything because you're scared, then you'll end up like these brothers. it will just fester for years.
as for exactly how to approach her, that's not something anyone can tell you how to do. all I can say, as one socially awkward person talking to another, is this: speaking from experience, ignoring or avoiding things due to fear or awkwardness does not make them go away. however difficult it is to start this conversation with your sister, things will be ten, fifty, a hundred times worse the longer and longer you wait.

just talk to her as soon as possible, this happened to me and my younger brother due to a physical fight as well and we didn't talk for 4 days but i saw him walk into his room and i talked to him. I just said hi. The more time goes the harder it gets to get over it. Just one word can make it easier so do it now.

This happened to me and my younger brother for 4 days after a physical fight. I know that 4 days is not a long time, but it was still horrible. Even though he punched me and gave me a bruise, i was still the first to talk to him, because i knew that the more time goes the harder it gets to overcome. if you are not talking with your siblings please just a simple word such as hi can change everything. They are your flesh and blood, you just have to overcome it.

Him and his brother haven’t spoken in 4 years and it seems like they still hold a grudge with each other because every time the speak - very seldom as it is - even small talk ends up being a full blown argument. They don’t even make eye contact when they pass by each other
I don't know how this feels because I'm very close to my family. I hope they stop being awkward and enjoy life together right now while they still have time. They seems like very lovely people.
