I love these vans, so funky, cab over, turbo diesel, 5 speed manual off-road capable camper van! I wish we got these kinds of vans here in LHD. Would have given the VW Westfalia Vanagon/Eurovan a run for the money. I can see how they're popular today with overlanding and vanlife. I'm on the west coast, so I see Delicas and other RHD JDM vehicles on a fairly regular basis. Still stands out from the crowd.
They exist in LHD, do some research next time.
@@CNSRVTSM I never said they don't exist in LHD, I just said we never got them in Canada or the US, only now we get the RHD JDM imports that are old enough to import. Read carefully and do your research next time.
Nice video - Mine (same colours) was a UK import from Kobe, Japan - 4" lift / MOMO steering wheel the size of a saucer / turbo timer / cassette radio / DVD screens in the back / drove better fully loaded / 31" BF AT's / mirror windows / looks dead sexy without the bull-bar.. trust me.. (6x bolts) / Rear wheel should fit under the back on a rack (mine did.. just needed blocks for the barrel jack due to the lift) / White dial kit fitted from MDOCUK so at least I was in MPH / started every-time after pre-heat and not a single hiccup ever / fuel economy of a sideways brick but worth it / had a side exhaust but got fed up of cleaning the rear wheel... / Maserati air-horns (!) / just a lovely bouncy drive squashing everything in the way. Happy days and she has a new custodian in Liverpool, UK; ironically where she arrived in the UK back. in '94 🙂 TIP - light heat-gun on the front plastic and it will return to black then a coat of plastic protection... or remove the lot and be unique!

I had one when I lived in Taiwan, although it was left hand drive and automatic. It was great.
That 4WD Delica is a great overlanding platform, as long as waiting a month or two for replacement parts from Japan isn't a problem. It needs an indestructible Monstaliner bed liner paint job.

How was your friend Caleb able to buy the Delica? Did he get it direct from an importer from Japan, or did he buy it locally in the U.S. from an American importer?
