Anger is more socially acceptable than grief to be honest. With anger comes a sort of tough-guy energy, a feeling of strength. Anger is terribly destructive but it is FAR less painful than grief. Grief carries with it the dreaded vulnerability and unlike anger, it has no energy and it does not reinforce strength. Given these facts, men often turn grief into anger. Grief is love without a home.

This is Jame’s father in the video.
His dad had kidney failure and needed a kidney transplant to live…
At the time this was recorded, no match had been found, so he was in a sense, dyeing ❤️
When this song was released, a distant relative heard the song and got tested…
    He was a match 🙏
Last I heard James father was doing well 🙏
So in a way, this song ‘ saved ‘his life 🙏❤️🙏
And now this song is a healing song for many. ❤️
    Have a blessed day. 🦋🦋🦋

I'm sitting here with tears streaming down my face thinking about my grandmother. She raised my brother's and I and when she couldn't take care of herself, I took care of her until she died, the roles had changed, it was like she was my granddaughter, and I was her grandmother, I miss her so much she was my everything, even though I had a husband and kids they just let me do what I needed to do as far as taking care of her. She came home from dialysis one day in July, asked me for her tuna sandwich like she always did on dialysis day, she ate, sat in her special spot on the couch, that night I gave her her shower and that night I helped her into bed, she had gone blind because of the diabetes, we said we loved each other, the kids gave her night night kisses and she passed away in her sleep, she was only 77 years old.😢😢😢😢

James dad was actually dying from kidney failure & this was his tribute & farewell to his dad. Thankfully his dad received a donor kidney from a distant relative who reached out after this song came out & is doing okay now, this was the first time James played the song to his dad , the crew and James himself was crying and his dad said ‘why is everyone crying I am not dead yet’ , the record company wanted to auto tune the song but James said no because he wanted it to be real

Otherwise what's the use in playing a sad song? Let the tears flow, It's cathartic, it takes a strong man that can cry. Thank you for sharing.

No matter what influence our dad's had...or never had on our lives. The message to me is to be a good son no matter what! Upbringing doesn't define us but sometimes resentment does. Bloods blood. We should carry out our duty as sons even to the lost souls that a lot of parents seem to become. Our live isn't about them. It's about us learning how not to behave and for that there is thanks in there. for absent fathers and mothers too since how not to behave as a parent can stand us just as good steed when it's our turn to TRY to bring ours up perfectly....not sure many have succeeded in reality.....trial and error. The thing is there's not a lot of forgiveness on the child's part when they feel let down😪
