I have played guitar 30 years and i can say without a doubt his skill is at a world class level. Even though some teachers would argue about his overuse of arpeggio, i find his style unique, refreshing and most of all passionate. As my friend christine said, his music is almost meditative, i agree. Amazing talent.

Comparing Estas to other guitarists misses the whole point of his music. It's not about his technique (which is super!!!!), but its about the incredible feel which translates through his music. For the guitarists out there trying to ditch this guy's music, technique is only the top part. The feel is what makes a good song. This guy had a calling, and he is following it. Unlike most of us who remain stuck in a rut. Thank you Estas! You have been an inspiration to many.
dragunu1 I wonder how many of them have actually heard a real Flamenco guitarist or get that it comes from "Alma" and Duende" not technique I lve in Spain danced Flamenco and he does ok by me! He could kill the frenzied bits, but that`s OK too.! Thats just Duende! And they miss what Estas gives us. He takes it somewhere more .Anyone can play on rote, Estas goes somewhere else and takes you with him, if you truly listen

It sounds nothing like it. If you want spanish guitar, listen to Granados, some pieces by Albeniz, and the complete works of Francisco Tárrega and Fernando Sor, among others, of course. It's completely different. On a side note this gets boring after a while(not judging his technique nor playing skills).
I would call that classical guitar, I suppose I do not categorize Spanish guitar as anything other than classical compositions played on a guitar. However, his music seems to be more psychedelic and entrancing, rather than slow and methodical like classical pieces are. I can see it being boring to some people, but so is classical music. It is a matter of taste.
I know nothing of guitar playing- but to me, he is incredible. He goes beyond the instrument into something ethereal*
