I remember on Air Strike Canibus said a line like "You dropped D12 for Slaughterhouse, if Proof was alive, he'd be dying inside". A really good diss, but the track was released in '09, so by that point, the beef was long over, and it was pure clout chasing
Yep. Canibus was definitely the best MC to go against Em. He wasted his career though, making disstracks against Em instead of focusing on making his career blow using the clout he had gained from initially dissing Em.

Killshot is such a good diss cause he literally replied to EVERY part of Rap Devil. However Quitter is so harsh and I love how insanely well them match Hit Em Up almost syllable for syllable at some points.

MGK has gone #1 twice since then, has releases huge rap hits since then, and is about to release another rap album. Homie just got a holiday named after him in Cleveland by the mayor himself a couple days ago.
Eminem tried and eminem failed. The FINAL insult stans have is "he switched genres" okay how many other artists have been able to switch genres, triple their fans, and still be successful with thr previous art they did? Mostly just super stars.

AZ IZZ was part of the Outsidaz. A group Eminem used to be in. Several of the members felt like (maybe still do) that Em didn’t do enough to help them out when he blew up. They were supposed to be on Ems first two albums but didn’t make the cut. Long kinda interesting story with a lot more nuance to it.

@@Milkers777 This is true. Em and Young Zee have (or had) a good business relationship, he was even included on the 8 Mile Soundtrack. So Em didn't really leave them behind. And he has shouted them out numerous times in about half of his albums. But the reality is, they're just kinda "rappity" rappers. They can rap but can't make a song and their style just isn't digestible to most music consumers.

C- Eight does not have 80 albums of all original material, majority are mix tapes, compilations and remix albums. C-Eight does not cover the same wide range of content and concepts as K-Rino and his storytelling is not even near the same league. If you prefer his bars that's on you, I couldn't care less.

Has anybody ever heard eminems invasion diss trilogy? It seems not many have, because that never gets mentioned by others. Its just too much. The first and second are great, the 3rd part OMG, his flow is just the best he has ever done. No soul can fuck with that.
DZK was my generation growing up during the time of the transformation from having to use a studio to being able to build one at home. He was a dope underground rapper and had some real skills but he was too Canibis/Eminem in his style to stand out. I remember the good old days of posting our songs on internet frouns and message boards back then. He was part of that movement. There was a key code everyone downloaded to use to unlock the expensive recording studio software and it was the same one everywhere. "Peter Quistguard" was he name on the code and DZK put a bar in a track where he said "I'm an underground star like Peter Quistguard". It was so dope if you were on the inside of the music game at that time, like an a inside joke. it was a great time to be alive and part of music.

The one credit for icp's diss is that Em really was an icp fan who tried to promote his ssep album release party by saying icp might show up .
Then, after he gets on, he doesn't want to be associated with the silly clown rappers and disses them. It's a legit thing to be upset about imo, tho I understand Em's reasons.
Also, Eminem opened up for House of Krazees once, who later became Twiztid (also night have went to the same high school)...who were on icp's label. So it was a mess.

Well I just learned something new on the Benzino segment: if you're gonna rhyme the same word you have to rhyme the words that come before the end word.
Because I just wrote something where I ended up rhyming the same word with itself, so I ended up rewriting the whole line to end on a different word.

As a lyricist Crypt, I truly encourage you to check out K-Rino's catalog. Especially from around 2010 to present. K tells stories, he has very humble songs telling stories of being broke, financially and mentally, and struggles that relate to every person.. and he has crazy flow sessions battle raps where he combines sci-fi themes and hood themes and wordsmithing in an unreal, hilarious, make you rewind the track kind of way. Amazing dude, amazing lyricist, one of kind, the pride of Houston IMO. He is "your favorite rappers favorite rapper" 🤣 a quote said around Houston.
Perfectly said bro he's a GOAT imo and it's sad not enough people know about him. He literally has been rapping for 40 years, recording music for 35, has about 50 albums and like you said he's so versatile with his styles and lyricism. Criminally underrated.

Also, if Eminem chose to respond to K-Rino now a days.. it would be the worst mistake he ever made lol.. K-Rino released that diss probably close to 20 years ago.. K-Rino has never stopped evolving and becoming the world's most powerful lyricist.. he now has over 50 albums and has lyrically done stuff with rap people never have imagined.. my top 5 fav K-Rino albums are 1. FEAR NO EVIL 2. TIME TRAVELER 3. WORST RAPPER ALIVE 4. BOOK NUMBER 7 and 5. can't decide, way to many to be worthy for the final spot.
K-Rino's storytelling ability is the only thing I'd go for. As far as flow, cadence, and literary devices concerned, he is mediocre at best. Em washes K.
