Boris Johnson's popularity decreased immensely when Brits found out he and other members of the Tory party had been partying around during Covid19, especially when common Brits were on lockdown and couldn't visit anyone, let alone party.

Erm he also made at least £21billion in public money completely disappear to fraud during covid. Then the Brexit lies… still waiting for that £350million a week for the NHS. And remember the kids he conceived during extra marital affairs?! And the constant racism? He’s a greedy, evil, nasty piece of work.

@@ivangalovski4190 well i think the covid and recession is a common excuse that is used to downplay the effects of Brexit. Before my response i checked the numbers and the 140b are soley because of Brexit. And they also cut them of from Erasmus and freedom of movement which will have an impact of highly skilled people moving there in the future. So its more likely that the loss of 140b is just the beginning of the decline.

People really liked Boris when he was just a quintessentially eccentric Englishman who turned up on tv panel shows and said funny, witty things. When he went on to lie to the public in order to pull the UK out of the EU, lie to the Queen about the legality of proroguing parliament, and lie to parliament about having parties during the Covid pandemic, people stopped thinking he was funny and decided he was a disgrace. They were right.

From up here in Yorkshire, Boris seemed to be all right as Mayor of London, the London Olympics went great. Then he became fixated on Brexit. Unfortunately the propaganda on the side of his bus was believed, and the country voted to leave the EU. I don't vote Tory, I rather liked Boris as a person and when he became PM and Covid struck, I hoped he might stop being a buffoon and really become a leader, like Churchill did during WWII. I obeyed all the lockdown rules and watched all his announcements. But sadly, he let down all those poor people who couldn't say goodbye to their dying loved ones and couldn't meet each other for ages by having parties when the rest of us couldn't and then lying about it and making callous statements. He did not grow into greatness and is no longer an MP and I wouldn't want him back. He's done enough damage. Being likable isn't always a good thing.

Oven chips are not french fries in any way, shape or form. One is by it's name made by frying in a pan or a fryer and the other one by baking or roasting in a oven. The only resemblance is that they are usually made from potatoes and by heating the ingredient. Also look at the shape... take croquettes for example... they are made by frying just like french fries but because of their shape they taste very different.
In other words I like chips (especially the oven made ones) much more than french fries.

    • @tsurutom

Supermarket frozen oven chips are literally french fries. They're deep-fried in a factory and more or less just reheated at home (+ browned a little). And we all know that's probably what Boris calls "cooking".

Boris is actually incredibly intelligent with a first class honours degree from Cambridge. The left hate him as their supporters loved him as a flawed but effective leader. If Covid had not emerged to sap all the time of his term as prime minister he would have been the most popular leader in fifty years. The establishment on the left and and right hated him and eventually they got rid of him working with the left wing civil service. A massive shame that we did not see the great, albeit eccentric, politician he would have become. There is a strong chance he will be back.

    • @Dreyno

Wrong. He received a second class degree. From a course any aptitude or application could’ve generated a first. He’s a fraud and you’re projecting what you want him to be, not what he is. He’s a deeply dishonest, conniving and self-serving sociopath. His affected accent and smattering of bad Latin seems sufficient to impress the hoi polloi.
