Dude, this is the best looking Ninja 250 i have seen!
Wheels look sick :)
10 years later still the best 250 i ever seen
Wow thanks man! I still have it, will be selling later this year, less than 8k miles on it
i own a 2012 kawasaki ninja 250r, and i am 6' 3", 270 lbs. This bike hauls me around at 70+ no problem. Awesome little bike.
Outstanding! The 250R is great because you can enjoy it without a racetrack. Every 600 I've ridden leaves me looking for blue lights. Great job on the bike.
Nice!
Love the new (er) Kawi 250.You did a great job. As a racer (ex AMA superbiker), I would recommend against the oversize rear tire. You need a correct profile for cornering. It really helps to match the front and rear profiles so the bike tips in and sticks in the corner. The rear you have will lose traction at steeper lean angles before the front. Not a good situation. I can see that you are not using all of the tire, but if you do get to the edge, watchout.
Great Bike! Very well modded. Should come from Kawi with those options.
That is the nicest 250 i've seen, props to you.
So beautiful. I have Yoshi slipon (same look as yours), woodcraft riser clipons, highsider plate holder, smaller signals. Love the bike.
That's one sick 250, I don't think I'v seen a better one.
powdercoat bonds to the wheel better than just paint, protects better from rocks/sun fade. Also the wheel is cast not billet aluminum, so the finish is dimply like an orange. Powdercoat fills in all the imperfections and looks completely smooth.. i was stunned when i picked them up. For about $130.. good deal
Nicest 250 I've seen!
That bike is sweet as hell! I wouldn't get rid of it.
white wheels. how did i know they would look good. so classy
thanks for the compliments =)
thanks, it comes pre-wired, just some crimping/soldering.. easy. The stock turn signals are regular bulbs and the undertail uses led's. You will have to purchase an "electronic flasher relay" so the turn signals work correctly. The stock relay is mechanical and will not work right with led's. The relay is located on the left side of the bike, if you turn on the turn signal.. you can actually hear it clicking making it easy to find.. remove that and wire in the electronic one.
looks amazing. still have the bike?
You can loosen the brake line fitting/valve located just above the rear brake pedal, and swivel the brake line out of the way and re-tighten the valve fitting.. you might lose a little brake fluid so make sure to bleed the brake before you ride. I also used a zip-tie to keep the brake hose in place
Im getting one of these this week an this most definitely re affirms my choice in this bike! That looks fantastic! Be careful with it.
Overall it really awesome, i so love ur white rims & the undertail. make ur ride more cool~
Very great job u done~
Sexy bike man .... You got great and loyal modification skills...
I would do nearly the same...
BTW , I was also expecting led display console too ...
Yep, first though i used regular paper to use as a template... once i got it right i traced it onto the vinyl sheet and cut it out. I used soapy water when i stuck it on so you can still move it around before it dries. also used a hard plastic scraper to squeeze out the air bubbles
Love the white rims. Slick!
Again, nicest 250r i've seen...just moved to Cali, lets ride! :D haha.
@hallbreezy wow thanks for the comments. To get the wheels powdercoated cost me $130 with tax(california). I took them to Applied Powder in Oxnard, CA who don't specialize in just motorcycle parts but coat anything you bring in from a patio chair to a car chasis.
I took the wheels off, had the tires removed, removed the valve stems, and the middle bearings/seals from both wheels leaving just the bare rim and took them in. They bake the wheels @ over 300 degrees which is one pt of the process
That's what I was thinking, a fender eliminator and exhaust is as far as I'd go with a 250. But since he plans to keep the bike for a long time, I understand his urge to mod.
thanks man, 2,500 guessing. Did most of the work myself. dad helped with rear sets and swapping out to bigger jets. installing the hot bodies undertail was prob the toughest but worth it
thankyou, i did them myself, i mounted them as high as i could under the top fork clamp and just eyeballed the alignment.
i think ill be doing something like this when i get my bike, ill get the white side decals and the black tinted screen along with an akropovic slip on. im also digging those white rims
Sickest 250 on CZcams
That's a beautiful 250r
stock new ninja.. $4,000. dealerships try to bend you over, with tax, shipping/prep, license, and all the other b.s they tack on came to almost 6K. I told them forget it, they eventually dropped to $5,100 out the door. mods/upgrades roughly 2,500 guessing. thanks for the compliments :)
that looks beautiful, im thinking about getting a 2010 now.
@iLoveSkylines Yoshimura suggests changing the jets to slightly bigger ones is you add a slip on or ful+l system. It sounds like its running lean. I have swapped the jets (dynojet stage 2), K+N filter and yoshi full system.. quite a big difference in low and midrange power, and high revs it doesn't gasp for air and lose power..
Their are two catalytic converters.. one in the stock exhaust and one in the header. Adding a slip on removes one cat, so more air flow, and a full system removes both.
I've riding my brother's honda 600rr and my dad's gsxr, the thrust is unbelievable, but on public roads you really don't get to use it.. unless you want your license suspended, bike impounded, fines, higher insurance then go for it! If the ninja 250 cranked out 50-60 h.p would be perfect
@TheJimmyEnglish Thanks brother, I haven't noticed any difference really with handling, flipping it left and right quickly is no problem. The bridgestone bt 003 rs tires stick nice, won't last half as long as the stock hrc pieces of wood. 150/60 rear, 120/60 front. Actually next set i might go 140/70 and 110/70.. same tires. The tires are too wide for the rim and the profile of the tire changes/more rounded than it should be.. i wonder if i could switch to a wider rim from another model, er-6n?
What a nice looking bike!
Thanks :), yep after every ride they get dirty. With the 150 rear i didn't notice much difference in handling. The rim is too narrow for the tire in reality and when mounted it changes the profile of the tire.. more "rounded". I'm due for a new tire a will go with a 140, won't look as cool but will be safer to ride
nice bro beautiful bike. i got a 2012 candy lime just put a 09 gsxr 600 swing arm with a yamaha r1 rim/ tire 190/50/17/. lower the bike using lowering kit.GP pipe from hotbodies it sounds just like yours and white hid xenon kit also put some green angel eyes and red demon eyes in the headlight
yep its tight, this video i have a 150/60 tire, i switched to a 140/70 which fits correctly on the rim and rides better. the hugger rubbed slightly on the tire, so i took a dremel and made the mounting holes bigger so i could move it up/forward a bit to clear
yes i removed the snorkel tube from the intake airbox, installed k+n filter, bought dynojet stage 2 jet kit to go along with the yoshi full exhaust. huge difference from stock
@mckben1 part 2... the stock rear(and front turn signals) are regular incandescent light bulbs which use a mechanical flasher relay to make them blink on and off. If you install led lights in the rear you have to buy a electronic flasher relay and remove the mechanical and switch with the electronic relay. Thanks for the comments, i almost got the carbon muffler but decided to put some shiny bits on it and went w/stainless steel. Any more ?? feel free to ask
@TheTKDSpartan Thanks ! Powdercoat cost $125, not a bad deal.. easier than painting yourself
thankyou, the 150/60 tire rubbed very slightly, i took a dremel and made the hugger mounting holes slightly bigger to move it up and forward. i switched to a 140/70 rear. the 150 tire looks the same width when mounted on the rim as a 140/70 because the rim is too narrow and rolls the tire. anyone who reads this.. i strongly suggest NOT mounting a 150 width tire
@mckben1 They provide instructions on the hotbodies site which are not too bad. The front led's didn't come with the kit. I bought a standard fender eliminator kit and decided on the hotbodies instead, then used the led turn signals from the basic kit and put them up front. Undertail took a good 6 hrs to install, i too am not an expert but not a novice either. Have to remove the seat, battery, rear body work. Used a dremel kit to trim here and there to get a good fit.
@DaYamahaRida Thanks, i bought a sheet of vinyl off ebay and cut out the pieces. The hugger i had imported from Japan.. hugger plus shipping was about $400.
It feels more like a "sportbike" with the clip-ons and rearsets. With the clip-ons.. the grips are lower and further away so you are stretched more over the fuel tank. Rearsets are adjustable, feet are further back. I no longer feel like i'm riding a scooter.
Clip-ons go for $200 or lower.. mine are "woodcraft" clip-ons. Sato rear sets are not cheap.. around $350 or 400 i forget but are expertly made and look good
@MrBluetini Thanks, yep i did all the mods myself, dad helped with rear sets and swapping out the jets in the carbs which requires tearing half the bike apart to get the carbs out.
you just made it look like some kind of weird honda.... *pats ninja and whispers*-Its ok ninja the mean man wont hurt you anymore.
yeah however i've that once you engage the brake, the yoshimura's cover gets in the way
actually bro it surprised me it handles better i thought because the swing arm was heavier is was going to be hard to handle but i was wrong. also last minute change i put a zx6r rim to match the front rim. so far is looking great and performs like a beast.
Nicest 250 on youtube!
you need to lookup ninja250fi modifikasi, indonesians are crazy asf
They go all out on the little bikes!
i knoooww! right now im here in bali and all i see are these little ninja 250r's and 250fi that look like 600s lol
Its amazing what can really be done if you want it bad enough
yeeeah you see there's litterally no point in here to have an engine capacity exceeding 250cc haha and the modification is soo cheap here aswell. mods like those you've seen with the 250fi are tops at around $700aud lol but in australia and elswhere it would been soo much more
@jasonlimbh79
thanks yah i think white wheels stand out more, most bikes have black wheels it seems
Thanks a lot :) I made all of the mods over a year's time and tried put some thought into it, make it look good but not silly. Some people like it, others not
@NinjaRider777R
I have to give credit to my brother and dad for the white color, i couldn't decide on a color.. gunmetal, light silver, or white. They said white would look good but i wasn't sure. I hesitantly chose white and they turned out great ! Highly recommend powdercoating over painting yourself with cans from pep boys.
The exhaust hanger i bought off ebay for $60.. aluminum. I actually took it off and made a custom one off hanger where i work so i'll be putting it back on ebay for sale
slip-on exhaust only .. my opinion probably not, full-system.. exhaust/header.. yes. changing the jets is a BIG job, have to remove fuel tank, side panels, disconect hoses etc. just getting the carbs out is a pain in the ass. have a shop do it or someone who knows motorcycles. i used dynajet stage 2 jets. swapping to slightly bigger jets did give noticeable power gains.
one way to look at it i guess. my plan was to ride it for 6 months.. sell it and get a 600 but i like the bike so much i decided to keep it. We ride through the canyons mostly so power doesn't really matter in the twisties. i admit i got the mod bug and just kept going. My next bike hopefully will be the MV Agusta F3 675 triple.. i drool just thinking of it, still keep the ninja tho
looks wicked with white rims. Great job! Is it really hard to keep clean, though?
Has the 150 rear given you problems, since? I want radial tires but don't want to mess with the geometry of the bike changing from the 130 rears
@Iamdustyyy Not paint, i cut out pieces from a sheet of vinyl decal. took awhile .. i first cut out pieces from regular paper to use as a template, then traced onto the decal sheet and slapped them on with soapy water so you can move the decal around before it dries and sticks
continued..
If you do buy and undertail, give yourself a day to do it as you have to remove a lot of bodywork/battery/seat etc.. and put it all back together. I used a dremel to trim the undertail to fit snuggly. Not a big deal.. just time consuming but worth it when its all done, let me know if you buy one
thanks man, i didn't want to tick off the old fart neighbors
best lookin ninja 250r. where did you buy the white decal on the side fairing and where did you buy the carbon fiber rear huger.
@TheTKDSpartan yep take the tires off, i dumped the stock tires anyway for the bridgestones. also have to remove the wheel bearings and valve stems leaving the bare rim
Ya, most stock rims are black which i don like. Jz love the white rims u changed, can see clearly of ur ride.
Nice job! really clean set up!
good old ebay! well for most of the mods
Very clean, how much have you spent approximately?
looks awesome, any engine mods? did you get any hp increase with new exhaust system?
@caspermayne thanks man, black bike.. my first choice would be gold, i think yellow or orange would look good too.
That's a sick bike
Thanks a lot for your imput! really appreciated
Hey beautiful bike. You really put some serious work into it. What was the actual part # for the A-Tech rear fender ?
Pazzo adjustable levers, you can get different colors
sweet bike you have one of the cleanest 250s ive ever seen nice keep up the good work
the grips i got at thousand oaks powersports.. the pre-load adjusters are anodized red.. $99 on ebay. stock front/rear suspension is too soft, stiffened up the front and rear
real NICE 250 bro! anyways...for your hotbodies undertail, did you have to add any wireings? its not plug and play is it? if i get this for my 2012 250, what should i know ahead of time to complete the installation? Thank you
@lfzzwz how hard was the hot bodies undertail to install? Im not an idiot but im no electrician either, do they come with instructions that are easy to understand? Also what are the LEDs you used on the front meant for if they come with the kit for the undertail?
And by the way thats a tricked out little Ninja you got there I have the full carbon yoshi and looking at the hotbodies undertail but don't think ill throw any more cash at mine, nice bike bro.
did you install your mods yourself or get them done at a shop ?? the bike looks sweet
Ok thanks! One more thing if you don't mind, how comfortable do you find the seat?
aww man...I waited for you to turn it on for a few revs. I have the 2010 250 Green SE and just installed the yoshi slipon. Did you shim/rejet yours?
oh that is a good price. i was thinking of doing that myself since the prices for a paint job around corona are insane. what part of cali are you from?
nice bike sir by the way i'm planing to buy a a-tech hugger
i just wanna ask if you just install the a-tech hugger and dont
have a problem with 150 tire?
Sweet ride bro!!!. I have a question im a new rider and i want to lower the front a couple more inches of my ninja 250r. What do i need to buy?new suspension? Or there is another way to do it? Thanks
yes they turned out well, really stand out now, most bikes have black wheels.. boring. powdercoat is the proper way to do it whatever color you choose.. don't go with a spraycan
Cool ass bike i have a 250 2011 been stuck on modes im a new rider just need the go to pinters help
Sick bike kid careful with that tire may be okay right now but my buddy stuck a150 on his 2010 ninja 250 and it didnt go well. Any who great looking bike best looking ninja on youtube besides mine haha
god damn it dude that is one sweet arse lookin Ride !!!
Take a double front double disc. Your bike look a great..
thankyou, did you notice any difference in handling with the diff swing arm?
Did u have to do anything special to get the tire hugger to fit the larger tire? I ask because I have a 140 rear and looking for hugger
yea every bike ive seen. black wheels. so boring. but i thought spray cans would do the job too? like 700 sand down to 1200 wet sand then like 3 to 4 coats of spray can? cause my friend tried that with bronze on his sti and they came out great. have you tried that on the bike? i was wondering cause i might do that to mine.
i took the wheels off, and removed the valve stems, bearings and seals, and tires. Then had them powdercoated ($130), new tires and put the same bearings back in and bolted them back on.
Thanks man, have fun with it
Shit is super nice kid good job
@NinjaRider777R Thanks i'll have to check it out
google search.. vinyl decal sheet, or check on ebay, thanks for the comment
Hi pretty cool upgrades makes the bike super sport. where did you got the rear fender eliminator ? . Can you share the seller information and web site. Thanks
ebay or google search for vinyl decal sheet, can get whatever color you want
Looks Hot!
Where did you find that white decal on the side of the faring?
stock seat is fine.. no problems
Thanks!
How did you cut it? Simply scissors?
when you power coute it your wheels?? did u have to changed the bearings or w.e that is ?
