- papdi chaat is kinda like nachos i guess??
get creative with whatever toppings you want to add but just make sure to assemble everything when you’re ready to eat bc papdi chaat gets soggy very quick (but i also know some ppl like it soggy so up to you?)
in the yogurt i added a bit of jaggery to sweeten it but sugar works too and then topped it all off with a sprinkle of chaat masala. both chutney recipes are below if you want to make them at home!
Spicy Cilantro Chutney (adjust everything according to your taste preferences!):
Directions: Add everything to a blender:
- 2 small tomatoes + juice of 1 lemon (blend these two together first so that you won’t have to add any water and therefore it’ll last longer in the fridge!)
- 1 bunch cilantro
- Handful of mint (optional)
- Half an onion or one small shallot
- 3 garlic cloves
- 5-8 birds eye / Thai green chilies (depending on your heat preference)
- Salt to taste
Sweet Tamarind Date Chutney (adjust everything according to your taste preferences!):
Directions: Cook everything in the below order in a small saucepan until soft/thickened and blend:
- 2 tbsps tamarind concentrate paste
- About 8-10 pitted dates
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup jaggery (add more if you want it sweeter and less tart)
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
- 1/4 tsp kashmiri chili powder
- Pinch of black pepper
- Salt to taste

Chaats are to die for so addictive
so true 😭❤️
agreed
Fr😭
I make it for Ramadan
Instead of Biscuit, you can use Aloo Chips or Khasta Papdi
Nachos for the closest effect
@@shakshineha Nachos will be best bcz Chips or Khasta papdi will be soggy in no time.. Nachos will hold on for some time like Papdis
Dude she's living in US not Uttar pradeS! 😂 😂 😂
@@shubham4845 You’ll have everything you need from the nearest Patel Store, it’s not that difficult to get Indian ingredients.
Frr
We all need more chaos in the kitchen
🧐😁
No thanks you have already created enough chaos at home by stealing my dad
Butthead attendance ✋
my dad is getting worried, please reply to his texts
So good to see you here!!!! ❤❤❤❤
I love the sheer lawlessness of this. It's a fantastic What Do I Have That I Can Throw Into This Dish and those are ALWAYS my favorites!
Im 15 and Australian but I lived in Mumbai for 5 years. We had to move because of covid and I really miss it. Whatching you make all this is bringing back so many pleasant memories ❤️❤️
In Mumbai, which area you lived in?
@@random-content6969 I'm not there anymore but I loved in Powai
@@rubyhannam5514 many of my friends live there.
You ever took train?
@@random-content6969 yea it's crazy
Chaat also means mashup in Magadhi, which is my dad's first language( Chaat originated in Bihar in the Gupta Empire). So it's only reasonable people pick the ingredients they really relish to make their chaat. The Chaat you made is more sweet forward and is called Batata Puri generally.
Isn't that you history teacher
Jk no offense...
Wait, I thought that Chaat originated in Uttar pradesh/Delhi area though. Doesn’t most historians believe so?
Woah! The Gupta empire!
@@irene6607 🤣 I don't think so. Go ahead, and then just like 100 years later a Supreme Court realised it was Odisha all along for Rasagolla invention, it will be found in our ancient things.
Chaat is really really old.
And every region has it's varieties.
@Sayma Khan Bihar was also the most intellectual part of this country before it was very methodologically pulled down the drain so that such bright people of Bihar don't contribute in the making of this nation in the long run. I am from Maharashtra BTW.
That is so beautiful I'm tearing up. New favorite food channel. Been looking for an introduction to Indian food, thanks!
huhu never have i ever thought biscuit could be used in chat🤣
I’m surprised some else uses ritz as well. We always use ritz for sev puris
@@bigboihulk6463yeah we have sev puris too and samosas too
Its so common to use Monaco biscuits for making chat at home.
Crackers=/=biscuits
@@mook_butt8037 What's the difference?
The moment you said “chaat” my entire face lit up they’re so addictive
Yeah right 😂
Am I the only one who's impressed by her pomegranate peeling technique 😍
Seen this 3 times on a sick day, and am thinking about riffing on this in the summer with kettle cooked salt and vinegar potato chips as the base, w yogurt, mint, lemon balm, basil, balsamic glaze, strawberry, and ofc extra salt and chaat masala. It's like strawberry balsamic salad turned into a big party platter. This is SUCH a cool concept so different to appetizers in the West, thanks for sharing.
Happy Diwali! Thank you for this channel. I miss India (not a native only traveled) and appreciate your central American roots. You're hybrid palate is epic!!! Spice, tangy, sweet, complex.
What a great idea to use crackers to make it approachable. I'm going to use tortilla chips to get as much of it as possible.
Tortilla chips would go very well with it🙌!!!
The chutneys are the key to this dish....the toppings can be anything.
Pappdi chaat is indeed a delicacy.
Instead of Monacco biscuits, use the new potatoz biscuits from Britannia. Thats far better.
gurl, some rock salt and lemon with or without the chutneys would taste fire!!! my dadaji used to put it on most things :) The combo also goes great with most melons
Rock salt, yesss
That looks so delicious!
It sure is, you should also try Korean style Maggi, it's very trending in India rn
Hey! Chaat is incomplete without sev right? Anyways keep going on i love to watch your videos, keep making delicious Indian cuisines, really love to see our food in a global platform
I personally prefer crushed papri over sev in mine lol
I was looking for this comment!!!!!!!
No rules to chaat
It’s the hing that gets me. SO addictive
Date chutney is my JAM - I can’t get enough of it. Whenever I eat pakoras I have to have it
I just love the variety in chaat!
Well this is the best foreign version of chaat I have seen so far..
I've never heard of this before, it looks amazing!
Oh, you're missing out on one of the best thing in the world, you've got to try it

Paapdi chaat IS MY FAV! Also you're so right you can make chat with literally everything. I've seen people chaat of boiled macaronies & people here in my college had a stall that sold chips chaat haha

I love ur channel
Oh! That looks amazing!
That looks fabulous!
Chaat might be my love language
That looks amazing its like creative, tasty & reasonably healthy all at once 😍 i love big flavour & texture combinations 😍
Whenever I think of chaat, I remember those days where my mother had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to cook ( except of course rice but honestly every Asian always has rice on hand so I don’t think it counts that much ) and me and my sis were sooo hungry so my mom cooked some rice and put some chaat masala on it and my sister was addicted to it! Also when I think of chaat pani puri MOST DEFINITELY come to my brain like it’s so goooooood! Also I love ur accent idk if that’s weird or not but I’m being honest.
Out chutney in anything, Brilliant!
I took an Indian cuisine cooking class and we made this..ITS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS EVER
Really i tried this chat with manaco even before watching this video I only used boiled potatoes and seasonings as a topping and both chutneys it taste delicious we both got a creative chef's mind 👍
Me too... remember monaco chat ads ?
Thank u your information ur teaching me is so helpful and valuable for me I love ur channel sm
oh my gosh i love your videos
Chaat is the ultimate indian healthy and masaledaar customizable dish 🙋
Woah this sounds amazing 🤩
Looks like a salad more than a chaat! 😂😂
Absolutely love chaat! This looks so good 🤤
All your recipes are to die for 😋
Love all your ideas, very creative , nutritious and yummy ❤❤❤
Chaat is basically 'salad' of whatever the hell you want 😂 Chaotic perfectly describes it.
Fruit chaat is simply fruit salad.
But you can go crazy with it and add chickpeas, salt+pepper and orange/lemon juice too 🤪
OMFG I LOVE CHAAT❤❤❤
Chat is for anything. I literally put it on unripe mangos with lime so good😩
This is genius
Chat is soo good 😊☺️ absolutely beautiful
My family always loves to make chaat! We break day old samosas into pieces and put greek yogurt, cucumber, onion, seasoning, cilantro chutney, and honestly whatever we feel like. They are so addicting once you try them
Aloo papri chat is love ❤️
i want this so bad
Bruh made me drool
CHAAT SO YUMM
For all the non Indians, its basically loaded nachos, but vegetarian. Tbh, its tastes better than nachos!😌
Absolutely not
Its nothing like nachos.. please.
It has sweet and sour chutney, hot chutney and sweet and tangy curd with chaat masala and veggies and some more snacks like Sev and crushed papdi.
It looks like nachos but absolutely opposite in taste and ingredients.
@@aadtie5633 by the looks of it, its messy and has a crunchy element and these two are the major similarities between nachos and chaat.
Listen up! To give a little idea to the non indian food eaters out there, it's good to make them familiar to our food using the stuff that they already know about. So I used this.
You are absolutely right. Nachos and chaat are two different things but not so different if u come from a non Indian perspective.
Other than that, no fights, I completely respect and agree with ur opinion 🙃😊
@@Analaya749 it's much healthier than loaded nachos
Love the Somosa chaats at my local indian restaurants
Chaotic deliciousness!
The only chutney I had on hand was the first mango chutney I ever made, but I just tested this and genuinely had to come back to this video as it is probably the best dish I’ve ever had. No joke this is 100% and I thank you for you service cause damn 😭 Indian cuisine is what helped be become vegetarian and absolutely no regrets.
This is very innovative indeed!!
Wow. Looks amazing
Papri chaat with dahi is just divine dude
❤❤ my heart is so happy to see the CHAT
Interesting, I gotta try this😍
Love your videos. I hope you’re doing well 💙

Chaat is seriously addictive my fav and addiction is defo pani puri
Ooo that looks noice!
Nothing can replace khasta papdi. 😁
Avacardo in chat. The only thing I've been Miss from my life.
you know your chaat is better than the street chaat 🤤😋.
This reminds me of the video by doobydopab
“You can kimchi anything”
So when I saw this video, as an Indian
I can now proudly say,
U can chaat anything 😂
Also you can achar anything.
Saltine crackers are good as well
I wld more suggest/prefer that chips which are called pop chips
Spicier tangier u need, sabritones (rice or corn wafers with limone and chilli)
Found everywhere
I loveeeee chaat♥️
Akka pongal, vadacurry, nei appam, paniyaram, kadala curry, try panun ga 😇😇
Biscuit in chaat ....🥺 remind me of the kids who use to dip biscuits in water and eat 😂😂
My favorite is this palak chaat at an Indian restaurant near me.
Chat is one the most popular Indian Street food!
U should use nachos instead as crackers get soggy and will give you doughy taste. It's all about the crispness
