Spanish Listening Comprehension Practice: In 27 minutes listen, repeat, and practice your Spanish

  • With this video you will practice your Spanish listening comprehension skills. You will hear a Spanish conversation between two people. One is late for a dinner invitation. The other person has cooked and has been waiting for her friend. In this conversation you will learn many Spanish phrases that are commonly used by native Spanish speakers. To tell your story, you will learn to use verbs in past, Spanish pretérito -- to talk about what you did -- and in Spanish imperfecto.
This video is the first of many more videos to come in order to help you to understand Spanish more, and comprehend Spanish at the speed and intonation that is natural to native Spanish speakers. Many people who are learning Spanish feel that one of the hardest parts of learning Spanish is to understand native Spanish speakers. The speed, the intonation, and the lack of contact with native Spanish speakers make understanding more difficult. With this video, I am giving you a chance to understand a normal daily conversation at regular speed, while also explaining parts that might help you understand and make sense of the conversation.
I hope this video will give you the chance to practice more Spanish. This conversation will allow you to practice your listening abilities in Spanish. This video will also give you the chance to listen to a native Spanish speaker as many times as you want by just playing and replaying the video.

My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in
California. The pace of study was intense. Students had to master the language course in 36-64 weeks. Psychologically it was very difficult, but fortunately he was helped by Yuriy Ivantsiv's book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages”. The book " Polyglot Notes" became a desk book for my brother, because it has answers to all the problems that any student of a foreign language has to face. Thanks to the author of the channel for this interesting video! Good luck to everyone who studies a foreign language and wants to realize their full potential!

I might have to look into this book that you mentioned. Their training was intense but am I correct to think there was a structure in teaching and learning? Being self thought for a year now I still CAN NOT hold a conversation or me say a sentence and understand the response. It is very frustrating. Don’t no of a single focus method to learn, Butterfly is good but it’s not in a 1, 2, 3, structure in my my brain needs. Hope the book you mentioned will help.

I’m Mexican / American. I was in Jalisco Mexico until I was 5years old. When I was taken to the United States my parents who are both bilingual put a strong emphasis on me learning English so much so that they stopped speaking Spanish to me. I’m 30 now and my Spanish had deteriorated quite badly. I can still understand most of it and speak like 60% maybe 70% decent Spanish. I like these immersive conversations because that’s the best way to learn. Whenever I go back to Jalisco for a few weeks my Spanish comes back rather quickly.

This is wonderful! To me it would help as well, after the first watching, to have a text so to connect listening to correct writing, and then after it is memorised how it sounds again to listen without looking. For me it speeds the process of learning.
