Serena was just starting to come into her own personality around this time… 2002 was her massive 2nd breakout year in tennis… She was very much still similar to Venus in her demeanor, but she was a little more outgoing than Venus

Story around the Tennis circles was Mom decided winner the night before they played a match versus each other - if they were on same side of the bracket draw.
if it was for a tournament title they would play it out square.
