Renault Austral E-Tech Hybrid Review | No more diesel? | Changing Lanes TV

- The Renault Austral has arrived in Ireland and goes on sale from about €45,000, rising all the way up to about €52,000 for the top of the range Iconic Esprit Alpine, tested here.
The Austral is hybrid only, there's no more diesel. Is that a problem? I took the new Renault Austral for a drive on Irish roads to find out if it's powerful AND efficient. Maybe you won't actually miss diesel from a Renault SUV?

I went from a 1.6 Diesel Grand Scenic to a 1.6 petrol plug in hybrid Captur and the Captur has impressed me but I'm now looking to buy the Austral. I went for a test drive a few weeks ago and it is an awesome car. Felt very Premium compared to my Captur 👍
Great review enjoyed watching 👀 thanks 😊
Thanks for watching 🙂
We went from a top spec petrol Kadjar to the mid spec Austral and loving it so far - the kids miss the Moonroof but I love driving this.
I've driven the Qashqai and I find the steering quite heavy on those.
Great review thankyou🍀🍀🍀
Thanks for watching!
Great review thanks. They are nice. Looking for a replacement for my Peugeot 5008 GT Premium
Thanks for watching, might be the car for you!
Probably Techno version makes most sense. I'm not sure what I need electric seats, or heated steering wheel.
I think for the money and the main customer demographic- you expect comfort and you expect noise dampening…. so like everything else , but can’t justify it.
As a current Kadjar owner, I have the 1.6 diesel which has a fair bit of muscle for overtaking and is reasonably thrifty on the diesel so if I'm going hybrid on my next car I must admit I am tempted into this one and was very keen to hear your thoughts on it especially having watched your review in Spain before it came to us. I think I'll probably keep my eye out for the techno esprit alpine or possibly the one below it as an ex demo model so I can save myself a bit of money.
Good plan :)
How about your experience about built quality comfort level and any other issue?
@@tradkoheights9511 I have had no build quality issues at all with my Kadjar
Beautiful car but you just can’t get parts for it if you have an accident.I had an accident 10weeks ago and there’s still no parts available
sticking with my diesel kadjar a while longer like the 4 x 4 awd that the hybrid at them moment doesnt have..
Gorgeous car especially the dash.. price wouldn't bother me at all
It does feel more stylish than the usual suspects
@@changinglanes_ie style over substance though- noisy cabin and too firm a ride….
Lovely accent, love from France hope you liked the car
Merci beaucoup :)
How easy is to drive in narrow streets in the town?
Is it easy to park?
Are the safety assistant features like putting you back into the right lane if someone comes out of nowhere?
Is it too difficult for smaller ladies under 5ft 4 inches to drive?
Please and thank you very much.
They should've put motor on the rear axle to have all wheel drive.
What’s the CO2 emissions?
105g so €180 to tax
@@changinglanes_ie thanks for that 👍
Hi, My auto door lock wont open or close on my drive, away from the house it works fine. can you help.
forget the car. beautiful girl. 😍
Still a lot of money do. You would wonder what the resale value would be like. I remember when Renaults were good value for money back in the 90s and early 00s. Not like that anymore do. I suppose they could not stay like that forever.
It is a lot of money and big step up from where Kadjar was. The market has changed a lot, time will tell how Austral will do against rivals
@@changinglanes_ie Yes it sure is and it sure will. I would like to see it do well but not sure many buyers want to spend tgat much on Renault. I know they have come a long way but still some lingering anxieties I would say about reliability. I still think the Kadjar looked better do abd miss the diamond Rebaukt logo on the outside. The new logo is nice on the steering wheel but outside its very dull.

Boring
Look in the mirror then get a life Adam nobody
A boring reply as well, what exactly do you expect from a family SUV, Ferrari-like handling and performance?
@@pillred5974 not the car the video
Fair enough, you should have made that a bit clearer though Adam.@@adamgrimsley2900
