    The girl

    FLICKERING fame
    Living on the edge
    Single portrait of beauty
    Rumors some still pledge
    Oh Garbo--so self-assured
Pepi ( so young oh so young )
    FEARS cry in random
    Another love now done
    Films and parties
    The GOLDEN AREA of time
    Eyes wide open
And a broken bottle of wine
We become one with our self
    The rumours fly
We step down from the shelf
    Living not a lie
    Be brave to the end
    Feed not the public's tale
    Magazine glossy shots
    Hollywood's torrid hell
    THE GIRL
    Temptation with a smile
    THE GIRL
    Glamour and style
( One cool cat lady...you always do her justice )

Pepi Lederer...a fascinating young woman she was associated with-- friend, lover and spiritual soul searcher.

@@dalepointer9414 Oh wow yes, surprised I hadn't heard more about her, as I know of the Lederer name but not of her. I also know Nina Mae McKinney but didn't know of the relationship between her and Pepi. I see Pepi had famous family connections too. A beautiful girl and what a very sad young end. I see Randolph Hearst tried to cover up her suicide. I have always been fascinated with his life and acquaintances, and his Castle in Big Sur, which i have a book on. Do you know it cost him 54 million back then to have it built and to acquire artworks from around the world, to fill it with, and it was still unfinished when he died. How I would have loved to have attended his parties that he held there, and even to have been a fly on the wall 😄. Thankyou so much for introducing me to the lovely Pepi , Dale. You are always a hive of information. 😁

To truly understand the American psyche, I always go to Hearst because I feel he represents what most Americans desire--wealth, fame and decadent power. The history of US is to acquire or take without reservation what we need or think we need. As a free society, we "conquered" the West, destroying and altering indigenous nations in the name of territorial expansion and exploration. It was our God-given destiny. God Bless the United States
Hearst is what we are-- arrogant, grandiose, manipulative and flamboyant and unforgiven without remorse.
We desire beauty in film ( and life ) yet condemn that beauty if it doesn't fit the required narrative.
Hence the six story windows of despair, like Pepi rushing head-first to her demise.
Our culture is twisted with cinematic and politica icons, intertwined like movie editors, trashing the positive to the floor, and elevating the melodramatic scenes to inspire our primal lust.
This is evident in Hearst's love for movies, altering facts via journalistic propaganda, and the desire to be the beacon of financial royalty, the semi-god of truth.
Mr. Wells illustrated it well in his cinematic masterpiece.
Just my spill for today. Thanks for all the kind words.
