I'm class of 2017 from SDSU. I went straight from HS to avoid having to transfer. I'm in a junior college now going for my second degree. It is way cheaper and the education is the same. I didn't go to party. You go to learn at the end. Having experience with both junior college and state, junior college is best to start off if you want to save money if you can get in without having to be on a wait-list.
I’m hoping I can transfer there i wanna go there so bad
I got into SDSU this year and am still deciding if I want to come in fall 2021. I'd be coming in undecided and not too sure. You mentioned it was very highly ranked, although it's #143 on the best nationally universities. Do you have any advice?
Highly ranked against the other CSUs within California. Based on my experience, the first two years of college are taking care of your GE. If you want to save a few bucks by getting it done at a CC and transferring after, that's cool too. Unless you want the full college experience I say go for it lol. I personally didn't see the benefit of moving to SD based on my career goals but everyone's different
Yo bro im going to sdsu in fall 2021 as well let's be friends im on socials with the same name home to see you there bro
I think it is quite selective. They got over 90k applications and admitted around 28k so thats like a 30% admit rate. I think it has been moving up especially over the last 10 years. Harder to get into as a freshman than some UCs.
I know what you mean about the campus feel. SDSU isn't as impressive as like UCSD, USD, USC, and others
Norcal and I was so hyped to see SDSU tbh. But it wasn’t as impressive as it was hyped to be imo lol
@@ChristianMastrile that's too bad, because USD gonna be hard to get into for me, SDSU is likely where I'll be. Where did you end up going?
@@CALISUPERSPORT ended up going to SFSU. felt like that would give me the best opportunity for what i want to do in the future than moving away
Great video!
Is it hard to get into as an eastern european?how can i apply?
great video
Hey man so I’m starting community college in the fall but I want to transfer into SDSU after CC. What is your best advice to ensure good odds of being accepted to SDSU?
Honestly bro, my best advice is to just be on top of all your shit lol. If you take all the classes you need to transfer and make sure your GPA is higher than what they require, i don't see why they wouldn't accept you. And if your major is eligible for TAG, definitely check that program out cos it'll increase your chances of getting in. Good luck!
I am going to sdsu, and i started community college. Some advice i have is that its actually a bit harder to transfer to sdsu as a transfer student compared to as a freshman. That being said, it honestly depends on your major. Try to get an ADT (associate degree for transfer) because its easier to get into there. I had a 3.4 GPA with an ADT and was trying to be a kinesiology major, and another person had a 3.6 GPA, but because he didn't have an ADT, I did. So an ADT actually gives you more of a chance to get in. Finally, sdsu cares more about your major gpa, not your transfer gpa.
there's a website called college confidential where transfer students discuss the stats that got em in. Definitely be on top of your shit like he says. Get the BEST grades you can, do volunteering that suits your interests, and maybe consider running a campus organization. Then learn how to right a killer personal statement. I'm applying there this fall.
Aidan Hite get an associate's degree for transfer. Best way to do it
Attend a community college in San Diego County south of the 56. They get priority because you're in their local area.
If you attend MiraCosta or Palomar College, you're local to CSU San Marcos, unless your major is not offered at CSUSM.
Why’d you get rejected from San Diego in HS??
honestly have no clue lol. I'm guessing it was my GPA maybe? or SAT scores? I'm not 100% sure but those were some of my weak points academic wise
Christian Mastrile what was your hs gpa and sat?
Nice 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Gabriel Mastrile thaaaaaaanks
I have a 4.0 gpa is that count to enter SDSU and how much is it cost to enter
Angel Gutierrez I believe the GPA you’d need straight outta high school is a 3.7. And the application fee is around $50 or so
What was your gpa? Sat? When you got accepted
TheBraulio459 I want to say my gpa was ballpark 3.3? And my SATs were average. Unsure of the exact numbers but it definitely wasn’t high but not low either
Did you get a transfer degree
No I only got my AS
Rejected out of HS, attended CSM and you’re a business major 🤣🤣bruh you the male version of me
Cat Y lmaooo the keys to a college student in the Bay Area, make sure to follow those steps accordingly 😂😂
What school did you end of choosing?
i ended going to SFSU. saved me a ton of money staying local but missing out on that whole college experience lol
Christian If you had a second chance to go back ,would you stay local again ? Or choose moving away for a college experience ?
@@alanmunoz597 in all honesty, i think i would still stay local if i were to do it all over again. i'll be posting a decision video explaining why soon but in a nut shell, based on what i plan to do in the future im not sure moving away wouldve brought me closer to my goal. i wouldve loved the college experience for sure tho, that is what i regret the most
Wrong about half of the pros and cons you listed.
Are you going to join a frat?
honestly havent thought about it yet. Not ruling out the possibility of joining one tho lol
