    Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (2005), the first installment of Castlevania on Nintendo DS, is a direct sequel to GBA hit Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow.
    Like its predecessor, after finishing the game, you can choose to ignore pretty-boy Soma Cruz and instead play as Julius Belmont. Unfortunately, it seems that Julius's skills have waned a bit since his last appearance ( tasvideos.org/... ). Yoko Belnades and Alucard easily pick up the slack, though.
    This run avoids the use of large-skip glitches that can be seen in our other run of Julius in Dawn of Sorrow ( tasvideos.org/... ), showing off more of the game.

    Poor Julius. Even though the category is called Julius mode, he hardly gets used because he doesn't have as fast movement techs as Alucard or Yoko.

      Julius in AoS was Incredible. But I prefer having two extra characters.

      It's not just his speed, he just doesn't have any real advantage over Alucard and Yoko, he has a whip, but Alucard's sword has almost as much range, but also is faster and you can do land cancel with it, his sub weapons also waste too much MP for the crap damage they do, his third jump is completely useless since it barely makes him move higher too... If his sub weapons were stronger he could be alright, but the way he's made barely gives him a real advantage, at least he can fight Abaddon in a safer way than Yoko/Alucard thanks to his cross, so that's something at least.

      It's pretty fun, had a fun new mechanic at the time where you'd "absorb" enemy souls and be granted powers based on the enemy's own abilities. Some of the abilities would get stronger the greater # of souls you had for each enemy.
      One of the bosses granted you a DBZ ki blast like kamehameha

      @kupoe Před 3 lety +2

      nope. maybe once or twice, but not consistently I think, it requires frame perfect movements. its like the people who play CSGO and pretend their bhop skills are legit. you can hit one or two, not 40 in a row.

  • @MoundN
    @MoundN Před 2 lety +1

    Didn't you waste a lot of time at 10:30 bc the downkick doesn't scale as hard on alucard as it does on soma.. I believe gergoth was long out of his invincibility frames and it felt like you wasted seconds for just 100 damage. I might be totally wrong though

      3 useless answers in 3 different comments. Truly the pinnacle of youtube commenting. I'll provide to you the answer that the author wrote himself, if by some miracle you haven't read it yourself in those 8 months.
      -The boss in Condemned Tower is a bit weird. He has 3800 HP. After bringing him down to 1900 he will crush the floor and drop to the bottom (though he'll finish his current movement pattern before breaking the floor). He then can't go below about 900 HP before his shackles break of, which is why I slow down after a while in the fight (as I'm not in a hurry to deal damage to him). However, having him go of screen, it's possible to inflict one more hit to make him go below 900HP. As it's only one extra hit I did a super long dropkick to do a lot of damage to him instantly, while still getting down to start hitting him again as soon as he could take more damage.
