    I love these sachets gifts using rice. If I need shreds I run paper through my paper cutter. I use scrap paper, newspaper, tissue and brown lunch bags.

    I make my paper fringes for the bottom of the package buy running paper (used) through my paper shredder. I also have a small hand held paper cutter for making paper beads. Works great and in no time at all. Shred and save in a bag for the next project.

    So cute with the burlap ribbon! Just a quick tip--if you don't cut the bottom, then you won't have to seal the bottom and the possibility of it leaking. Again, these are adorable!

      these are both so cute. you could also use cotton balls if you did not want to use rice.

    You can use a shredder to do paper shreds really quick. Don't know how the crosscut shredder would work. I've used a regular shredder and it worked great!

  • @NettieSpaghetti21
    @NettieSpaghetti21 Před 8 lety

    I tried this my rice ended up smelling funny.. I smell the scent but it also has like a baby powder type smell from the rice which is over powering the scent.. Did you wash the rice first?

    • @scrapdaworld
      @scrapdaworld  Před 8 lety

      Oh no! I use long grain white rice from the Dollar tree and the drops. That's it! It lasted a LONG time. No after smell nothing. I did not was the rice before. Sorry it not working for you :(

    • @NettieSpaghetti21
      @NettieSpaghetti21 Před 8 lety

      Zombiemermaid -Try using cotton balls. I used to make sachets with rice and had the same experience. Cotton balls make it puffy and pretty! Hope this helps!
