- Have you ever wondered what a Protogen is, or where it comes from? I do my best to explain all of this information to you, with the help of documents provided by Cool Koinu on her Patreon page, and the help of the ZOR Discord admins that helped me write this!
Protogens are some of the coolest species I've seen lore-wise, and I want to do my best to represent them as best I can. Their lore is already so rich!

Not a furry but the lore behind some of these species the fandom has come up with intrigues me. Makes me somewhat respect the furry fandom since they can come up with such deep lore.

The most interesting thing I've learned about Protogens is that while they are physically impressive, without their visor they could be taken down by someone coughing nearby.
Yes, but the visor is not so fragile. With a small-caliber weapon, it will be difficult to kill an ordinary protogen.
also that without their visor their faces don’t really have skin. Or a mouth really. Or, like anything more than just some flesh goo, I imagine (all from something Malice did) that it looks sort of like when you leave a band-aid on for too long

I have a friend that loves the look of furries and I saw this and sent it to her.
Now she wants to try and make lore for another type of “fur creature” as someone said when hearing the idea.
We both absolutely love this.

This still leaves me with so many questions, like how long is the lifespan of a protogen in an ideal environment? If the limbs are replaceable, how do you keep the limbs biological components alive while detached? If the limbs are just held on by a magnet, does that mean that a strong enough electromagnetic field will just cause the protogen's limbs to just pop off?
I would honestly love to see the Protogens lore as a movie or series! I mean the lore, story, and history is incredible! Who wouldn't want to see that happen!?

This lore is very interesting, I just recently discovered Protogens and actually got interested in possibly writing my own short story/fanfiction thing with different lore. Cool vid!
I recently discovered the lore of those magnificent fictional creatures, and both liking the fandom and being a sucker for sci-fi stuff and biological-technological connections, I easily fell in love with the concept of protogens. To the point that my head started to think about a story. I have a couple of characters in mind, but I have to come up with something consistent plotwise yet. So I started questioning myself.
Being them both badass looking and both artificially-created life, and able to travel from planet to planet, I'd like to show a lot of stuff. But. Since it's not something I originally created, I'm struggling with some points. For example, Primagens are a closed species and I by no means intend to violate their rules, so I suppose creating those characters for the sole story purpose is out of debate. And I'm completely fine with that. It would be a lot easier for me to create an alternative version of them with no conceptual differences but with slight modifications, such as "creators" being either only referenced by this name by the creatures or substituted with other entities that are not owned by a specific person and therefore are not a closed species. I also wanted to include other life forms in this little project such as humans for example, which they make contact with. Nothing else will be changed, as the original lore is absolutely interesting to me.
It really does sound like I'm stealing something. So I'm sorry.
And I probably have to ask the direct creator of the species so I can be 100% sure, idk.

This gives me so much ideas for my renegade covert Protogen ... but i must know: are Weapon-arms (like in my case arms with gauntlet-like hands with claws and internal low energy shotguns) possible? Since it was stated that arms are chengeable but not with highly specialised ones exist.
Yes weapon arms and weapon arm attachments are allowed. so long as they can carry the weight.
@@trejartheprimagen5530 thanks a lot now i can build her the way i imagined her. Also the gauntlets are made of a light weighted alloy which is the reason while, yes those shotguns and claws can kill, no the can't be used against highly protected/armored/shielded targets that efficently.

In all seriousness though, this lore is a lot more fleshed out than I originally thought. I can dig it.
The one thing that annoyed me was the nanite manipulation being a rare trait only, since my proto's whole thing was that she could manipulate her nanites out of her body to interact with machinery and form weapons and shit. I think I have a good workaround for it that might even let her "become" a rare in the future, but I'm still ticked that I had to do that in the first place.
What if you had your Protogen be able to invent nanites that she can manipulate, like the robots from Big Hero Six, I feel a Protogen could do that, but the story is up to you , so keep you determination, and keep thinking. I'm also writing about my Protogen, he can use his blood as weapons, platforms, or simple limbs.
I know it's to keep the species in set guides because of "special models" but like- I don't know why that is one of them, it's seems useful

I’m not a furry, and only found this video because my friend who is one won’t stop asking me to watch this, but this lore is really good.
18:00 this is intriguing but also terrifying in a way. My headcanon puts this as some sort of old combat protocol activated during desperate measures when war was still raging on. Often activated when there was no sign of backup, rescue, or avenues of escape. The effects of this protocol takes a toll on the proto to the point where death is almost certain. If they do manage to survive, something is likely left irreparably damaged. Now the old protocol is just remade into a malware virus/hack

In my oc's universe lore.
One of my protogen character was created by a Synthetic human who was an agent for the military got assassigned to a general of special forces and he made him go an experimental operation to get turned into a Protogen
This inspired me to make my first protogen and fursona.
I think one of my online Furry friends has slowly converted me into a Furry or has gotten me really fascinated with Furry culture. I am not upset about it all. I've heard a lot of bad stories about Furries. But much like any other fandom, there are good people and bad people.

I just became an illegal Primagen in the furry fandom after seeing how awesome of a species they are. I still like Protogens though. They're nice.
Note: Primagens are closed species so that's why I'm an illegal one (didn't pay for it)
