If you're using a hot wheels car you should be able to find a small enough magnet... I have a few magnets that fit nicely inside my hot wheels cars... check around in stores you'll come across some...

Simple (or not so simple) polarity trick! Magnet on the railing repels the magnet in the back of the car as it drives by causing it to spin out and drift
