    you should switch to tree supports in your slicer! it makes it so much easier to get the supports off. totally made this thing useable for small prints!

    • @anthonypopp7954
      @anthonypopp7954  Před 9 měsíci +2

      I will have to look into that for sure. The supports are about 75% of the cause of me damaging my prints

    • @Sully948
      @Sully948 Před 9 měsíci +2

      @anthonypopp7954 well prepare to have your mind blown, the tree supports completely fixed me being able to make small prints that I can actually get the support off of without destroying them lol

    I have the K9 and been doing a lot of prints on my channel for almost a year. Still use it for prototyping stuff. It's a tough little printer.

    I have the K9 here is a Suggestion: Place Blue Painters Tape on the magnetic sheet.
    This covers the perforations and still gives good adhesion. It allows you to not need a raft and gives a smooth bottom, Also it prevents the PLA from getting stuck in the holes making it hard to remove the model and leaving residue which is hard to remove.
    If extra adhesion is needed you can apply Glue stick or Hairspray to the surface also.
    Note: When using the blue tape make sure to relevel (tram) the bed after putting it on.

    • @fallingwater
      @fallingwater Před měsícem +1

      That printer needs rafts due to the particular bed it has. If you don't use a raft the first layer comes out ultra-rough due to the tiny holes in the bed material.

    • @bowl1820
      @bowl1820 Před měsícem

      @fallingwater Which is why I said to place Blue Painters tape on it to prevent that and you wont need a raft. Also, the tape keeps pla from getting stuck in the holes which is hard to remove and it gives the model a smooth bottom.

      @@bowl1820 Ah, sorry, I'd interpreted it as generic advice for normal print surfaces. I'll shut up now.

    • @bowl1820
      @bowl1820 Před měsícem

      @fallingwater Just a FYI, The Blue Painters tape is commonly used on other 3d print surfaces also. It's kind of a go to when someone is having adhesion issues, that and a glue stick or hairspray.

    • @fallingwater
      @fallingwater Před měsícem

      @@bowl1820 that's why I thought you were recommending it - figured you didn't know about the K9's holey bed and were giving generic advice that works on other printers. I personally find hairspray is by far the most straightforward method, and it even leaves your prints smelling nice :D

    If you want the dudes to hold together better and be more resilient against the removal of supports you can increase the percentage of infill to something higher. This will make the skeletons less hollow.
    Alot of the stringing could be due to the cooling of what's beeing printed. (Sorry, english is not my first language and I am uncertain of what the fan is called, but it cools the filament as soon as it leaves the nozzle.) Maybe there is an upgrade available? Or maybe you could design one in tinkercad?
    Also, why not print a tripod for you phone?
    /Sincerely
    Robert

      @anthonypopp7954  Před 5 měsíci +1

      That’s a great idea! The tripod I mean, though I’ve already purchased one from Five Below lol.
      I’ve had a couple other people mention that the cooling could be happening too rapidly as well so I rigged up an old cardboard box to contain the heat a little better and it seemed to have helped. I might post a new video about it sometime

    My K9 can't print any object standing up without errors, it can only do it with the object lying down. Could you kindly show me how to set it up correctly so that this error doesn't occur again.

    Your last print failed because the staff was printing in the air. You can also add a small gap, I usually go with the layer height, between the printed part and the raft to allow for easier removal.

    Have you tried retraction settings in the slicing software? I’ve received my version which is the same as yours. Would love to be able to print minis and not just terrain on one of these. Will let you know if I find any good settings and post a link to a profile. Has anyone else got a good profile for the K9?
