Baltsa singing this better at 61 than a lot in their prime
She totally blew me away in this performance.
I have been watching this video every couple days for like 3 years. Baltsa captures something so raw, so visceral! For a concert performance 🎉 wow
❤❤Genial! Baltsa extraordinaria.
Agnes Baltsa had a particular kind of belting chest voice in the that I became obsessed with when I first discovered her. Not necessarily a “dramatic” voice like Zajick or Obrasztova but a very compelling way of using her attributes to transmit intensity and pathos. A great singer, one of my favorites.
Bravo bravo bravo genial grandiose fantastic duet vocal super
Mil gracias. Dios mio. Paz y salud.
Incredible Baltsa!!
Baltsa is so extraordinary that there are no words, Domingo has that ability to get into character even if it is a concert version.
Too bad he couldn't hit any of the high notes.
@@michaelblack1977 I think he could never hit the high notes haha but he's a great actor
Some singers know their voices e.g Agnes Baltsa. This way they know how to choose the repertoire that suit their voices and what not. That's why some singers like Baltsa, Sutherland, Domingo, De Olivirea could sing way past their so called "prime". They also possess a rock solid technique that carry their voices (as if in their so called prime) late into their 60's, 70's and even much later. But they also know when to call it a day. That's where their brilliance lie.
OMFG is that Christa Ludwig at 10:45 congratulating Agnes
Yes
Yes!
And Hilde ZADEK
Yeah!!!!!
Do you have her singing Klytemnestra recently in Greece?
Yes
@@yiannisghikasdesign Could you explain why this is funny? I don't get the joke. Thank you
@@deleted01 Did I say it was funny ? The question was that if she sung klytemnestra recently in Greece and I answered YES because I saw the performance
I wish and wait Verdi’s Amneris as Baltsa new recording. Conducted by Gatti is better.
Hans Castorp, now I know what you mean... (Thomas Mann).
Grandiosas voces!

The sound and picture are off sync. She simply blows him off the stage with her vocal volume, respiratory reserve and well-preserved high register despite her exaggerated glottal attack. He sounds arid and small, unable to even pretend trying to reach the higher notes...
Daniele Gatti, conductor?
The conducting was too fast.
I’ve never heard anyone describe Placido Domingo and Agnes Baltsa as mediocre singers before. I dread to think who you might believe to be in the best of world class, as these two greats truly are.
Vergognoso Domingo
HORRIBLE.
Jajajaaaa....porqué ?
@@cgclx5013 Domingo.
What a crappy colleague at the end of what Domingo did. Especially considering he couldn't hit the high notes at all or just barely.
