Lots of great stuff! The only thing I question is whether you need to read to be a writer. I get what he's saying about being a storyteller, but I bet most good storytellers love hearing a good story as well. They may have even known someone that told great stories and loved spending time with that person. I feel like most people that are motivated to write, were motivated by reading something great. I'll read something that I love and think "it sure would be cool to write something like that!". Maybe it's not absolutely necessary to read, there are always exceptions, but I bet it sure helps. Thanks for sharing this! Take care and good luck with your book.
Loved this! I would love a 1000 words a day experiment!
It's sounding more and more appealing!
Walter Mosley's creative writing course is insightful. Consistency is vital; failure is part of the artistic journey. Be patient with yourself and trust the process. If you have a story, write it, even if the words don't flow immediately. Margaret Atwood's masterclass on POV is also excellent. 👌 great video Sarah!
I enjoyed Margaret Atwood's class too!
Learning about multiple characters points of view was one of the most valuable lessons for me. It improved the flow and clarity of my story. And to think, I wouldn't have discovered Masterclass if it weren't for these videos. Keep them coming!
@@cryptocap2035 Will do!
The "Surviving the publishing industry" section was SO inspiring!
Right?? I loved that part!
YOUR AUTHOR PLAQUE!!!!!
It was a birthday gift 😊😊😊
where did you get it??
I really liked his discussion on failure. If you can embrace failure and just take the attitude that you will get something positive from it and learn, there's no need to fear it. Keep going! Great review and thanks for your summary!
Absolutely!
Good morning, Sara! 🌞🌹☕ Listening to Mr. Mosley and his advice were inspirational, but I didn't agree on certain things he had said. Although, the term "practice makes perfect" does summarize on some of the things he was saying. Anyway, this vlog was interesting to watch and thank you for sharing. Have a lovely day and happy writing. ❤
Wise and inspiring words
:)
This is so inspiring. I’m currently working on a project that’s 51k word in. In the moment it never seems like I’m not getting much work done. But showing up it’s what matters.
Absolutely! I wonder if there’s a way you could track your time spent or words added daily/weekly so you can visually see your progress!
@@SaraLubratt I haven’t yet found a platform that will allow me to only input my word count.
@@tonyaspencer3090 Hmmm, maybe nanowrimo.org or just a spreadsheet?
I just worked on my story during the weekend and I do it all day till bed time. I do have a full time job that I have to get up at 5 am in the morning and rife two buses to get to work and I don’t get off till 2:53, then I don’t get home until 4:45. Question. I have a very hard time writing a ruff draft because I like to explain every detail and adding chapters. Is that okay or not? Plus I’ve tried writing a ruff draft so many times and for me, that just doesn’t work
However you write a rough draft is how you write a rough draft! You can always edit it later, just write what you want to write!
cool
:)
@@SaraLubratt I plan on creating a horror movie to get ahead of this year’s halloween
@@ryanhowell4492 Nice!
If practicing patience was easier I would be more relevant than Shakespeare in ten years.
😂
I’m using a pen name partly because one of his novels has my legal name in it’s title.
Oh interesting!
This was a fantastic video
Thanks for watching!!
