What’s good guys! Today’s video is all about how to go about choosing a stream post your 10th standard exams and what to choose after 10th. This was a subscriber meet-up that I had done at Pune where I met a confused student who asked me for some advice on how to go about making career decisions as a 15 year old. This video is important to you if you are in school or just on the crossroads of finishing school & starting your journey in the world as a college student. I talk about why it is okay to have confusion about career & which stream to choose after 10th stream. Due to the archaic education system in India, we have to choose between 3 streams- science or commerce or arts which is why most of us need some career guidance at this juncture in our lives. PRACTICAL ADVICE FOR ALL 10TH STUDENTS : Its better to have a brief knowledge about all the 3 streams and if possible go through the books of all the streams and then observe what you like and what you understand. I had a friend he had decided to take Science in +2. After 10th boards he went to physics tuition and didn't understood a single thing, so he took up Commerce. In my case I had an interest in Finance, Stock Market, Money Management since class 9th and had watched tons of videos, read blogs about so I took up Commerce and right now I'm finding it really easy. Because I had done a bit of research on it before. So, I advice you to do a little bit of research about all the streams and think in which field is your chance of succeeding the best. If you are good at Science take Science, good at Commerce take commerce.

I took MPC in +2 because my parents and relatives forced me to and I absolutely hated it. Then they forced me to take engineering but deep down I know it ain't working with me so I fought with them and said I would rather quit college then to study engineering and guess what I took arts as I didn't know what to choose and I probably did the right thing by not choosing engineering . Now I found the purpose of my life and I'm preparing myself as an entrepreneur (which had nothing to do with what I studied in college). So what I wanna say it doesn't matter if you took a certain steam which u didn't like because Ur life is more then just college. Find the purpose of Ur life instead of running for job and money. Play the long game.
As mainstream as it sounds, my interests actually lie in both medicine and engineering. I am a PCMB. I'm confused whether to go for NEET or JEE, instead of sailing two boats.

Omg this is exactly what I did. I gave my 10th boards back in 2018 and took up science as I wanted a career in medical field (parents' desire ofc). Then I realized where my real interest lies, which is numbers, but ironically, I hated physics and chemistry more than anything. Now in 2020, I enrolled myself for a statistics major, with maths and economics, as I'm more interested in finance and stuff. I didn't even sit for medical examinations, which my parents had spent lakhs for. Society still questions me for taking such a drastic step all by my own, but I'm sure I'll make it till the end. Dope video! 🔥

No. I guess you're wrong because somewhere when I was in my 10th I was literally blank about taking any stream so I took science and it was my worst decision because I never had interest in the class and all that stuff which the teacher taught. I repeated my 11th with arts and it was a blessing I scored 96% in 12th and now I'm in North campus preparing for IAS.

I took English honours in college after realising Science wasn't my cup of tea...
to be honest, I've seen a lot of students shift to commerce from science.
and commerce is.. something that most students can do without much difficulty.
but if you're sure about science, just go for it.
Also, it feels amazing to see a large number of students opting Humanities over Science and Commerce :)
Well am a arts student nd my parents didn't forced mine nd my brother's decision and we know that we are going to face upsc and get a job like IAS or IPS so if u know what you are doing then there's nothing like ki no u should take science and it'll be beneficial!!?

I decided commerce because, at first, I loved science, biology was always my favorite class, but I hated maths (every advance related topic). So when I started looking at the careers, commerce and every business related ones were the most attractive to me. I'm currently finishing off business administration and I studied it because it gave me the skills to work in mostly every area of a company and also the skills to start a business if I ever wish and have the chance to do.

@@uruuu9595 just jeep positive and dont expect to earn a lot of money without sacrificing time and investing money in your first few years. Businesses are that, you HAVE to have more than 1 source of income, no matter what you do or where you work. Try to start some relationships and surround yourself with people that have experience, been into it for a while, talk with them and share experiences, dont hesitate when asking questions because every person should know that there are no dumb questions, just dumb people that dont question. Be yourself and stay positive.

@@uruuu9595 alienated not, it was weird learning different subjects from what I used to be into but it wasnt that difficult. I still love science and arts, my passion is hairdressing and during my free time I learn, practice and explore new things from the scene just so in the future I can take a job as one and then manage my own shop. Just because you study and work in the business thing doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the things youre most passionate about, dreams are to be realized.

1. CA, CS, CMA For true hard workers
2. BCOM. For normal
3. MBA for again true hard workers...specially IIM
Then there are other professional courses like share market , finance , broker, trader, IFRS, CFA, career in insurance, banking, law and ethics, corporate sectors like auditing, taxation, SAP etc ....now anyone gonna tell me about science options

I left my 11th sci after going for 3 months, I was feeling like college is not my cup of tea i fealt fraudsteded. After 2.5 months i feel i did good and was correct and focus on my favourite thing stock trading and iam loving it.

Clarification:
1.If you choose PCMB you can go to any field.
2. If you choose PCM you can go to any field except medicine.
3. If you choose PCB you can go anywhere except Engineering, Commerce ( you can still go to private though at higher fees low quality)
4. If you choose Commerce you cannot go into Engineering or Medicine.
5. If you choose Arts/Humanities you cannot go absolutely anywhere, i e, Engineering, Medicine, Or Commerce.
Moral: Maths le lo nhi pata hai kya krna hai toh

Arts with subjects like economics, maths, sociology, psychology, and English.
I don't know anything about commerce except the fact that you have to write word-to-word answers and rattafy them and I am not good at that.

I can help you get out of confusion.

Commerce was not the way I thought it was.
If you are good at basic mathematics (+,-, multiplication, divide etc) and logic then you can do it easily.

Also if you don't like the stream you can switch to arts within the first 6-8 months.

Remember to think of the long term. It does not matter what the society says. You are studying for yourself, not for them.

I've got my boards in May, and while I'm really worried about my exams, then my stream, then career selection.. So, its pretty much all over the place
The thing is that if I take humanities, then later I can't switch my course, but if I take commerce then I have options with me, but I feel like commerce isn't my thing, and if I wanna take humanities then the subjects I take also matter.

No use of 11th-12th maths,instead i have to study economics now,which was the subject i left in order to take up maths in optionals,
Nor did maths affected my overall percentage (as its hard to manage two practical subjects like maths and account together) it also is of no use to me now.
I even have some friends preparing for CA exams,they have the same opinion on it.

Sorry ,but the advice to start with Science and then switch between streams was misleading. I highly recommend that everyone take an aptitude test/psychometric test, as it helps you understand your strengths, personality type, and interests. With this insight, you'll be better equipped to choose the right career path from the start.
A short answer do whatever you want bcoz all jobs would be changed yes it's the working of science everything changes in 20 to 30 years see your elders they can tell you...if they wish ki unki pol khul jayei can tell u some facts here...
1 market is sensitive to customer choice hence taste of youth changes the trend.
2 change in Science and Engineering changes that products enhance the ideas of youth changes along time.
3 patents and other intellectual rights go crazy and 10 to 15 years so new patents will set up the trend
4 some new ideacentricks jugs make new industries fall down like jio and xiaomi

This video is so helpful and relatable as I'm 16 I faced the same problem rather I'm still facing it. Well I ended up choosing science because according to my parents all the options remain open because I'm neither interested in engineering and nor in medical and I'm still confused because I feel that I should not end up taking a wrong decision about my career because I don't want to regret throughout my life .
