Changing Wacom Pen Nibs.

- Hi, today I want to show you how I go on and change my Wacom Pen Nib.
Ok so this is not really necessarily one of the most amazing tips but it is actually one of the most asked about.
The Nip of the pen for the wacom tablet can in fact wear out because of the texture on the surface of the tablet as it’s designed that way.
Therefor, over time what you need to do is to watch that nib and as it wears down, you’ll need to replace it.
So, actually, Walcom actually includes this here in the pen stand not just 10 additional nibs but also a nib puller, and it’s this ring right in the center.
And this ring, which I had no clue what it was for, might be decoration lol, before, has a little cut in it if you notice. That’s actually designed to grab the nib and literally pull it straight out.
As a photo retoucher, you’re not gonna wear out these nibs that
fast as a sketch artist obviously. To be honest, it’s better to wear out the nib than the surface of the tablet. So if you sharpen the nib, it can scratch the surface; even though that surface is replaceable. You just need to call wacom customer care and order a replacement surface.
Among the ten additional nibs, my favorite ones are these three of slightly darker grey nibs. These feel a lot like felt on paper.
And the way you put it in is simple, I normally just blow into that pen tip, then tap it and press the nib in and you’re done.

I placed a screen protector on my wacom so the surface became so smooth that I haven't changed a nib in years.

@@samahashah9826 You can look for laptop screen protector (film) on aliexpress or any market you can find it in. Do prioritize ones that are specialized for touch screens.

Thank you really much, my wacom board didn't worked for a long time, and I couldn't find out what could go wrong. Then I realized that I can change pen nibs, I could't pick off the old nib. But you saved me :)

thanks for this! i discovered i haven't a clue where my nib extracting tool went but a pair of scissors also did the trick :)
If you lost the nib puller you can also use a nail clipper to pull it out

3 years NEVER KNEW I had those extra nibs and I purchased some already lol
I had no idea those were in the base, and spent 20 minutes trying to unscrew the pen tip

Thanks for the video. I don't seem to wear mine down fast but every time I do I've forgotten how to use the puller. Turns out I was doing it right I just wasn't confident I was and I guess not gripping tightly enough. Once I watched this I succeeded!

Tweezers work like a charm.
There is a little circle on the back of the digital board, if you pick off its rear part

Gotta keep in mind to change it before that happens.
I had to use *pliers* to get mine out since I've used it for several years :P I don't know the exact kind, but there are various kinds you can try.
TYSM!!! I don't even have a wacom I have a huion drawing tablet but it worked! Turns out my nib was too far pushed in so I couldn't draw properly.

hi im a year late but mine didn't come with a pen stand either, however the back of the pen can be unscrewed and detach to reveal 3 nibs inside
I can't unscrew the base. The tablet responds to touch, but not the pen. I have a white NIB that came with the Intuos Pro Small. Help
I have a wacom intuos and my pen's not like that. Maybe I've waited too much, but I can't get it out with the hole in the other side of the pen and I REALLY need to work, what can I do? (also I've even tried with tweezers...)
mine came with the nibs in a bag, but this is really useful for osu players

Oh F.M.L. I completely forgot that the extra nibs are inside the pen stand, been going through all my stuff and old wacom box for an hour now freaking out while looking for something like a small bag or something similar and they where literally right in front of me the whole time...well better than losing them I guess, thanks for the reminder!

But what if your nib is already too small to pull it out and you cant grab it well? I use my nib for almost a year lol.
In case you don't have the ring, it can be done with a nail cutter.

Would putting paper on top of the tablet wear out the nib more but prevents wear and tear on the tablet? what intermediary surface should I use to prevent the tablet getting scratches while prolonging the longevity (or keeping it nearly the same) of the nibs?

Hi Actually I bought new pen nibs for my wacom bamboo pen but even though im not touching the tablet with the pen it still keeps clickin on things I dont want to, how do I fix that?
