Bring Tony back to the main channel!!!😂
Second that!
Probably schedule issue
Bring F1 back as well, ain’t nobody got time for that other weird platform it’s on
No no no.
Bin Tony from all content.
Annoying, opinionated and biased

Can’t believe a Jag F type 3.0 V6 S didn’t make the top 5, or even the 5.0 R, both can be bought for £35k, 3.0 more than enough for British roads and the 5.0 is a super car rival! Both surprisingly reasonable to maintain if using an independent
2016/ 17 Lexus GS F, 5L NA V8. It has everything, saloon cabin space, decent boot, V8 sound track, reliability factor and warranty up to 100k miles or 10 years....
Good luck finding one though
I had one until last year, but very true, only 50 odd in the UK @@ryanclarke9477
Sam - BMW 540i touring. High spec. You know it makes sense as a daily. That tailgate window opening. Pan roof version. Tell me I’m wrong, right?
@behindthrglass what’s the plan for After the Checkered Flag? I wasn’t able to get on the ReCast platform, but looking forward to your content with F1 starting. Cheers!
Love the new intro! With f words and everything.
Archie is buying up all the gems now 😂
Great episode, really enjoyed Tony's inside knowledge.
I´ve just across these podcasts on youtube.... currently binging.. love them!!
Very enjoyable podcast as always. Thank you very much.
There's a lot of serious enthusiast cars you can get for that money. Gen1 Audi R8 manual, B7 RS4. Many 911 and Caymans. Lotus Evora. E92 M3 manual. Alfa Guilia Q. Focus RS. That's just off the top of my head. But really, overlooking the R8 is a big oversight
Tour de Glass perfect 👌🏽
Great show! Realistic topic for the masses!
I'm glad you suggested the M850i Sam. I'm actually trading in my i8 for a 2020 Dravit Grey one in the next week. Cannot wait to pick it up, I drove it and fell in love with it, especially the noise. It's a lot of car for the money. Mine is over £40k but it's a low mileage high spec example from a main dealer.
Easily the best podcast on CZcams!! Highlight of my working week listening to this 🙌🏼
What a perfect episode to release on the day I’m planning to test drive a used Golf R 😂
I got a Panamera GTS (970.2) with all the right options. Love it!
Follow me Im a tech at Porsche! Porsche dealership repair and service videos!
2015? Wonder if it’s my old car
Haha. Nah it’s 2016. I’m based in the UAE!
We DO love you Tony!
GR SUPRA !!! Just got one 3 months ago, never fails to put a smile on my face
I would of gone for the Yaris myself but it's a 09 focus for now. Enjoy the Supra fella, used to have a Celica.. Great cars
Looking forward to your tours, I will bring my C43😉
Autotrader has just stopped me from using a price checker to monitor dodgy dealers like Baldrick here.
Will looking forward to new episode 👍
Will you guys be doing any behind the glass episodes at Alexander's prestige again this year?
Focus RS MK3
And it will hold its value
Ive had one 6 years bought it for 28k and just sold it last week for 31k 6 years free car onto a r8 gen 2 hoping it will hold its money similar 🙌
If it’s going to make money why did you sell it?
@@Neil2022 I had it 6 years, time to move on
MK2 RS would be good bet for future prospects.
Instead of the previous gen Civic Type R. The thinking man’s choice would be the i30N. You get 95% of the performance and is the 2nd most driver focused and track ready hot hatch after the Civic, even recent road tests prove this. More tasteful styling. Sounds better. More fun handling characteristics. Better tech. More comfortable. And is a few grand cheaper for an equivalent age/mileage car. You can even buy one brand new for that 35k budget, the new Civic is still 45/50k used.
Seeing A90 Supra's dipping to the 35k mark and below is getting super tempting.
For me the best ‘driver’s’ car for under £35k is a Lotus Evora S. I recently bought one and while it's not as versatile/practical as a hot hatch or German saloon it beats them all as a sense of occasion and for driving engagement.
The most astute comment by miles 👍 Enjoy your new car 😎
Any itenerary to see you guys pass in northern Portugal?
Brilliant episode
I'd normally change my cars like my socks, but I've had my BMW 540i M Sport (18 plate) for nearly 2 years now, mainly because I cannot think of anything that can beat it in terms of space, tech, power and economy (avg 28mpg) without going into more debt to replace it. I'd probably go F90 M5 next........or un-messed with RS6. Keep up the good work chaps
I’ve got a 2018 530d and I love it, but I do wish it offered more driving involvement. It’s a big old heavy boat… I think I’ll go for something smaller next time 😊
Great video Sam and Tony. Me and friend at work have this conversation every day at copper mill. Sub 30k cars . And we take what super Cars at in general munch dreaming of having them
Some great cars you mentioned there. Not quite a family car, but reasonable milage Porsche Cayman (gen 2) would sit in that price bracket, as an alternative to BMW M2 and Toyota Supra that you mentioned.
981S, mid engined, high reving flat 6, just make sure it has the PSE.
What's the issue with the C43? Seem to remember you guys saying it wasn't very good before.
I’m currently looking to replace my CLA45 and looking at this sort of budget so this has been a well timed episode. I like the X3 M40i but an RS3 is tempting
Please, you have to call it Rally something or other! Love it!
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. I’ve owned mine for 2 completely trouble free years, and covered 20,000 miles. It’s about to go up for sale for around £35k via the Auto Lounge as I’m going to be taking delivery of a company car in a week. I cannot recommend the Alfa enough.
3yrs into my Quad, zero problems here as well. In love every day.
What about the W205 C63. Like 2015-18. I think the interiors have held up well, better* on fuel, and if you like a more dramatic sound, it’s a better shout than the W204. Anyone else agree?
What do you think of an e28 535i msport
XJR is perfect, looks great, drives brilliant, understated, comfortable and sounds like a Merlin going over Dover when it’s going for it. And everybody loves a jag
I bought a Lexus lc last year and it’s great
Would love an episode of what to buy with 10k or 15k, id say theres a lot of listeners in this bracket.
Down here in NZ i recently got a lovely e85 3.0i Z4 for $9k, and it seems a really nice car. Lots of us are on much smaller budgets :-)
Is stock watch something to promote Tony’s business or just inventory prices in general?
Do you think I could keep up on my 1987 bmw 335is m sport on the tour? 🤣
What do you figure, 10-12K for the Portugal trip? Honestly at that money it would be a fair price.
For 35k £ I'd probably go for a BMW E39 M5, it's the era you like, it's old enough to keep its value, definitely cheaper to maintain than a S-class coupe or a Bentley, it's probably one of the best looking sedans (I'd say Maserati Quattroporte 5th gen is next to it), and like it actually drives really nice, easy enough to upgrade it to have Apple Car Play
Sam looking like exact replica of an Engineer from Prometheus 😁
😭😭😭
What is a four court?
not got to the end yet. But a 2019 Alpine is sub 35k now, begging that got picked up
Question chaps, what about the cost of touchscreens in the newer cars?
Is that a possible item to discuss in a future episode?
.
Keep em coming lads!!!
‘24 C63 AMG should be 35K at the end of the year. Probably a handful in the country so unique and quite a steal for a nice 4-pot.
I had a 2014 C63 Performance many years ago. Best sounding car I’ve ever had but you won’t get more than 19 mpg however you drive it.
Personally for 35k would go with a 7 series previous gen if you wanted luxury over the xjr and s class
What about the Aston Martin DB9. V12 RWD GT car that still looks modern. 2004-2008 cars with moderate milage are well within budget leaving you a couple of grand for running costs.
Best regards from Portugal.
Love Portugal
It would be awesome to be a part of this at some point. I'll be aiming for the USA trip when it comes!
LC500 not fast enough? Fast enough for what? How much performance do you want from a road going GT car?
Sam, you need an S class coupe I’m trying to convince my dad as we speak! best value for money on the market today especially 2018 or later
Would love to do your tour but over 1000 miles away from UK
i found out just this morning on Classic FM that Charles LeClerck is quite a talented music composer
Another great show guys. Sadly can't fit the first tour in my diary, but like the business concept idea. If you are looking for invesment into the new business I would be very interested in having a conversation.
2014 XKR .. also convertible?
Tony’s laugh is the best
The AMG E53 coupe/cabriolet is a really overlooked car.
interested on your thoughts for hating on the c63 ?
Can you get the guy from Alexander Prestige on the podcast?
Pretty sure he was on a live podcast a few months back that was hosted there🤙🏼
His name's Andrew.
For 35k think I’d probably go for a M140i even though they are very common but would still have some change to have some fun with the car, ie new exhaust and some extra power
One car you didn’t mention, Tony will HATE it but I’m seriously considering one and I think Sam will approve.
997 Carrera S, you can get a really good gen 1 for under 35k with low mileage or an engine rebuild.
I've been thinking about that one for years - still haven't pulled the trigger on it :)
@@ianmason3040 me too! My dad had one when I was a kid and it’s always stuck in my head, a very special car
Merc S500 Coupe is really good shout and Lexus RC or the full RCF underrated and cool too.
Tony is right about the golf. I have the 7.5 R 3 dr with all the toys and I wouldn’t be getting the mk8. Had one and sold it after 12 months due to the interior, which until you’ve driven it at night, one word….Dangerous.
Now selling my mk8 r after almost 2 years. Only had a problem with the infotainment once, and never had any problems with the buttons. Not ideal about the temp controls but I always have it on auto. Had a new steering wheel fitted a month ago due to the travel assist sensor so couldn't use acc. Interior rattles which is very frustrating but I am a bit sad to see it go. Still a cracking car, but never drove a 7.5 R so.
@@Adambroughton29 both great cars but I prefer the 7.5 and I think the 3dr feels more sporty. I’ve had 3 golf r’s and currently my wife has the mk 7 gti with a few upgrades. That’s a very underrated car aswell.
I bought A 2012 Panamera GTS about 6 months ago, it's great. Beautiful build quality in general. I have had to spend £5k on new suspension bushes (indy price), but once sorted it's a lot of car for the money and so much nicer than any other lux car of the era which seem so dated now...
5k 😭😭😭
Porchugal Tour. Has a great ring to it!!
As an owner of a 2018 RS3 (Facelift) your are a bit off on the values. Cars have definitely softened off. You can definitely pick up facelift cars for £35k depending on spec/mileage.
All worth it for the music of that 5 cylinder.
I'd love to come along on the tour with... ahem... my MX-5 😅 but unlikely to this year as my wife and I have a small baby.
if i were porsche, id make coupe version of the panamera and call it the new 928.😁
Low mileage M135i for £25/26k ?
Anything other than older BMW they are time Bombs!!
new shape M135i? only because im thinking of getting one 😅
quick but weights 1800kg..
Whoever commented saying in general is a legend! That’s all I hear Tony say now 😂 absolute legend!
None of the cars mentioned are close to the Macan. My first Macan S bought for £56k and sold for £45k 4 years later. I’m on my second. Great cars. 0-60 in just over 4 seconds, mid-high 20mpg on economy and very comfortable with the PASM suspension. Even sounds great with the sports exhaust. You’re welcome to test drive mine in SW London but definitely not for sale!
What are the running costs like please?
@@booboo1178 Not high. Service every couple of years cost £150-£500 depending on what’s needed. Insurance £800-£1,000 a year.
@@andrewburns3952 tempting! 🥳🏆
I concur! Awesome cars.
Ford Puma ST - Aston Martin Rapide - Alpine A110 - TVR Tuscan - Audi S8 - Porsche Macan GTS - Mk8 Golf GTI - Volvo XC90 T5 or any Volvo estate seems they no longer sell them new
What about a 981 or 718 cayman! Best sports cars available. Maybe no manuals at 35k all PDK
The are fewer manuals, and fewer people that want one. It about the right proportion for the demand. Take a look on auto trader, there is a decent 981S with 53k miles, manual, price is in like or less than the pdk
@@Jay-xr3sbwho says fewer people want manuals?
@@booboo1178 supply and demand
@@booboo1178 The fact that less than 10% are manual?
I know the chap who owns the dealership in Wales... he is based here in Monaco and has an insane car collection
BMW 3 or 5 series, Merc C or E Class, Audi A4 or A6, with 6 pots diesel or petrol…depending what you want and need gets you something nice for 35k.
Bring Tony to the main channel!!!
A dealer doesn’t have to offer any warranty, however the customer still has comeback for 6 months during which the dealer potentially is obliged to help with any issues under consumer rights.
£35k can just get you in a R8 V8 Manual - a future modern classic
S63 AMG wins this by such a huge margin. Nothing comes even remotely close to daily. The objective is to get from A to B with the lowest quantity of unwanted attention, from anyone, in the greatest level of comfort. Who cares what people think it looks like! The Jag, sadly, doesn't even box in the same world.
Has Tony got any evidence regarding that 6 month warranty claim? I cant see anything about that anywhere
I think it's the consumer rights act 2015, chapter 2, section 19, paragraph 14. I haven't added a link as sometimes posts with them get auto deleted.
@@ric355 Cheers. I'll look into it
There’s a 575 Jaguar on eBay for about 31k
Surprised the Cupra Ateca 2.0 300 (Golf R powered) didn’t make the list. Can pick up one with like 4K miles for 34k. They’ve dropped nicely post covid. Also kinda surprised Sam’s never had one in his channel as an option for a daily fun SUV
Im an X3M40i owner, a BMW customer for nearly 20 years, 3 years in to a PCP I have always changed my car.... The dealer rang me today, as expected. But, what the fook do I buy now? Surely its best just to re-finance this amazing beast? Waaaaa
used F90 M5
100% on the C63 6.2. Got close to a mint one at 20k and decided against it- huge mistake ..
What is the bgtour cost? approximately?
£8,500
@@mrsbumble6825 Thank you, bit too rich for me
Some of these prices are way out I’ve seen the civic on a 20 plate not much over £20k not 30 plus
