Hi :), so that more expensive one didnt do nothing to the mids and the bass? (impact, speed, weight, ...). Just a soundstage and a treble layering? Is it a tradeoff, note weight for the soundstage between the two? Is that more expensive one also with the lighter notes (soundwise)? Which one do you recommend more?

Hello, as I've said in the video, there is no common recommendation. Cables have different impact on different IEMs

I love the Leyding for my Freya-matches its style and color (mine is the emerald/gold/darker version). The modular capabilities are a plus, though they are a bit tight (less so for the Kinera Ace cable, not reviewed above.) The Freya cable is indeed fine, but I had a bit to spend back when I bought it, and wanted a better match visually + balanced cable.
At first it was very noticeably different because I was using my SR25's balanced output, which is not tuned the same way as the 3.5mm connection. It should be a bit different, but I have no measurements gear, nor am interested in the least to obtain one, as I do not manufacture IEMs, and measurements are just part of a full story. It is not worse than the original cable, and bad cables do sound bad-this one, my Leyding, is not.
I also bought a Kinera Ace for my CFA Mammoth, as the original glow in the dark cable died (wear and tear near the plug.) Just before its death, the left channel was sounding worse than the right-I even thought that perhaps the IEM's left channel was failing. It was the cable dying. So yes cables make a difference, especially bad or faulty ones. The Kinera Ace "revived" and refreshed the sound of the Mammoth, especially its resolution (it is a mild difference and can also be expectation bias-but it obviously sounds better than the failing cable it replaced.)
But in the end, tips and insertion level can make a bigger difference, so as long as the stock cable is working well, it is likely not the best idea to spend hundreds or thousands on cables until you have explored what tips works best with your IEMs.
In conclusion, Kinera offers good modular cables, and are all nice to explore if you can afford it. Agree with your conclusion as well, Mr. Paul. Thanks for the video.
I have shed tears for you and your family since the start of your horrid situation (I really have, not trying to impress you), as I am so appalled at this megalomaniac fool, who so much has hurt your country. You are in my mind and heart every day. Bless you. Thanks so much for all your work in this channel.

I didn't test this earphones with Kinera's cables, but from my experience cable impact is audible, but really rare it's significant. So probability of big changes in this case is low
But it's just my assumption anyway

Thanks for the super-helpful review! To bad the Dromi cable isn't soft (deal-breaker for me).
I was considering the Leyding for my Solaris, but now I'm thinking of the Meze or the Penon OSG cable (curious what you think actually). FWIW, "gauge" is pronounced "gage" and "faux" is like "foe".

      Mr. Scott,
To be honest, at least the Leyding is very soft to my hands. Both the Ace and Leyding are very comfy and won't tangle, with zero memory except the very soft curve by the ear section. Surely you have found your cable for the Solaris by now, but I just wanted to add my thoughts since I have and use the Leyding almost daily myself.

@@classicalthrasher Thank you for the reply! Actually, I bought and returned a Dromi. It was basically soft enough, though not as much as some; but, I just couldn't use it. What didn't get mentioned (or I didn't notice) in the reviews, is just how LONG the interchangeable plugs are. They're like 2" sticking out of the socket, which made them just unusable for me to carry. I ended up buying the Rai MMCX 2..5mm cables, which sound fantastic and are very soft and flexible. When I need to plug them into a 4.4mm or 3.5mm socket, I just use a DDHifi (right angle!) adapter.

@@scottgarfinkle8395 It is indeed long for the Leyding-not a big problem to me, but I admit it could be to some. Perhaps something for the company to think about. Since I have been known to use Grado headphones out and about, with their humongous cable and thick, straight plug, long mini plugs are not hard to get used to in my case. But indeed, if given a choice, I would prefer the cable to have that L angle from factory, especially since its modular capabilities will make it longer.
Of note, the slightly newer Kinera Ace cable at $39.00 still has a straight modular plug but it's noticeable shorter than with both Leyding and Dromi. Love it, but you must like its aesthetics (light blue and silver). Soundwise it appears to be really good (or not worse than the original.) Sounds "fresh" (an entirely subjective, non-helpful term, I admit): I would recommend it to anyone wanting a relatively affordable modular cable of good quality.
(I cannot compare the models as one is 2 pin and the other mmcx. As long as they sound good, I am satisfied.)
If I save some money over the summer, I may try some other cables for my IEMs. Though a bit pricey, the Effect Audio "budget" cables seem good to me (expensive, but not nearly as much as they can charge with some of their high end models that I would never buy even if I had the money to spend.)
Glad you found a good cable for your needs! I have also watched that cable for some time, though my current situation is such that I cannot buy everything I would wish to try. As I save up, maybe.
