- Hey All,
Today I wanted to share with you how I culture microworms.
Microworms are a small nematode worm that are a fairly easy culture to maintain and make for a great first food for newborn fry and nano fish.
Hope you enjoy!

Hey all,
You might be confused why this video is being uploaded again, I just noticed a few audio issues I had to clear up.
Thanks for your understanding, hope you like the video.

Hey can this be fed to cherry barb fry?
Great video Blake
great video. thanks for upload :)
Yeah man. The easiest live food to culture I reckon. Super ace for wee fish and fry too. 👍
good video man
Thanks 😊
An absolute must for raising boesemani fry from around 2 weeks on, easy, cheap and puts good size on the fish.
Very true!
I'm trying vinegar eels for the first time, not meant to be good but a lot easier.
Dam, I always thought I was clever and original for using rice bubbles myself, guess I'm not alone
Snap, crackle and pop are key ingredientd to micro worms haha
Between oat and plain powder mash potato, both with yeast, I have 2 of each. My mash potato exploded with microworm plus no smell compare to oat.
Hi, thank you for this video. I am going to start a culture soon. I saw some sellers offer the live cultures on Ebay. I have a question about feeding. If the microworms are not entirely eaten by the fish, can these microworms survive in the aquarium? Or are they going to die soon and foul the water? Also, are corydoras going to eat these microworms, or are they going to be ignored, because they are too small?
Theyll die after about 24 hours but they are a very clean food, they wont even foul up the water like normal flakes or pellets do
Corys will love them even though they are small
@@BlakesAquatics Thank you!
Good stuff Blake! Do you reckon these would do as the primary food for licorice gourami? They eat the microworms happily, but I'm not sure if they'll turn into fatties 😂
i always prefer to vary the diet of fish, just because everything has different nutrient composition. i would say theres more chance of a deficiency in something than being overweight that would be the risk
Does it smell as bad as some people say?
I dont make a habit of sniffing it lol, its not unbearBle just opening the lid and swiping the side with the paintbrush. Bit like when youd forget about a sandwich in your school bag
and what about if you do not have a microworm culture to start with?
You can easily find them on ebay and the like. Buying a starter is the only way i know of. Some say if you bury some bread in your garden and dig it up after a week or so theyll be on it but ive never tried that

can you feed your fish microworms everyday? Thanks!
Theyre not very diverse in their nutrition, best to balance with other foods
Rice Bubbles = Rice Krispies in the US
Indeed 👍
