Hey everyone, thanks for watching this wow classic video on weird paladin gold farms! It takes awhile to do these but it's super fun for me, so I'm super glad to see people enjoying my content. If you are enjoying it, it helps a lot if you like & subscribe as it gives my channel more visibility and reaches even more paladins out there that might be struggling to make gold!
This time around I went for a pull with two other paladins, Kyung and Lindt, that will basically only be useful during prepatch to boost shamans to level 60 quick inside of Stratholme, involving around 250 mobs, and it can be done in 12 minutes per run. The experience levels seem to be about double the one from Zul Gurub and it also rewards reputation with Argent Dawn.

Yo awesome video man! I was just a little curious though about your choice of going into reckoning instead of improved holy shield given the size of these pulls. I spent the last few days testing this boost and not only was the extra overall damage gain from holy shield considerably higher than the overall melee dmg gain from reckoning, but the mitigation is better too since you basically get full value from the extra charges because the pulls are so big. Curious to hear your thoughts.
It's mostly because there's so many mobs attacking that your holy shield will instantly disappear no matter how many charges whereas reckoning always has value. With that said though and looking back at it, only 1/5 reckoning would be enough to keep it always up, so I could indeed have put the points into Imp Holy Shield. So I agree with you!

What about pulling Afrasiabi (as he pulls all the mobs in the starting area of Strat live) and pulling them into the rat gate? Or would the damage be too great and insta wipe you?
Probably a bit too much damage haha, we tried doing 10 pack pulls but I kept dying, even with the highest avoidance gear in the game
what is the addon that is reminding you to apply your blessings? i always forget to reapply Blessing of Sanctuary
It's a Weak Aura haha. Making it is quite simple: Create a new ICON weak aura, go into Trigger, tick the box "Name" and put "Blessing of Sanctuary", and then tick a bit below in the dropdown "When buff missing"

I do! I got them all from Wowhead btw. I can share these if you want, or I can teach how to get them from wowhead:
1) Search for the spell and click it
2) When in the page of that spell, right click the icon and then choose "Inspect"
3) The console will appear and have one line highlighted in gray, the line just above that has the link for the image that you can download. Image of that: blob:imgur.com/d0fbcc69-1732-4515-9b61-b5981c81e2df
4) And then you just take that link, open it in a new tab, and right click download!

@@matolol Ohhh! Install WoW Model Viewer!
Then search for a Human in the search box and it should be in the top. Then on the right you can equip gear on them and in the bottom choose the animation!
They are in green screen background so I just record the screen like I would record WoW, and add a Chrome Keyer in Sony Vegas and that's it!

Where do you get additional 50 mobs? There seems to be only about 190-200 mobs in these pulls.
I think I just looked at the mob counter, some of them are the rats (35), all the rest are just normal mobs running around!
What do you do with the decurses which sometimes occur? I mean the 75% decreased healing decurse on a tank
Heal through it, but they only occur from the ghost citizens that we avoid pulling or if pulled we kill ASAP

I read and answer literally all my comments so it's not lost! I think you can only enter strat at 48 right? In any case maraudon is better pre 48 I think, might be wrong!

Yes its doable solo at 60 as paladin with smaller pulls even in lesser gear. Pretty much how alot of us made gold in classic and og vanilla
@tedj do you think its worth using the Phylactery trinket instead of the Zandalarian Hero charm?
I would use ZHC, and if it's on CD for the next pull, then go for it.
Or use ZHC with Phylactery - which I actually did quite a bit during our runs, but I advise people to use styleens to be a bit safer and because not many palas have the Phylactery trinket. But the run in this video was with Mark of the Champion!

What’s there to do if I’m planning to main a BE Paladin. Anything items I need before prepatch haven’t been on since classic was out the first 6 months
Not so much, maybe spell power gear to boost yourself in ZG if that's your plan, but other than that, no boosting to 58 on BE means you won't have that much time for raiding, so I'd say if you're in a rush, get boosted :(
Hey Tedj! the speed Zanza are usefull when you take the poursuit of justice ? Cause someone tell me the talent cancel the utility of Zanza, it's right ? And do you think speed potion can be good for some pull ? How Many defense have you with your stuff ? (I have the Saphiron tank trinket, do you think it's better than zandalar trinket ?) Sorry for all the ask ahah
No problem with asking questions! Let's go one by one. Yes zanza is 20% and PoJ is 15% so u don't need zanza. You can use swiftness potions for sure too yeah! Not sure about the defense, check the link in description. I think both trinkets are probably equally good!

Why not go 0/21/30 for damage on the "tank" (30% consecrate dmg increase), demonforged breastplate and mark of cenarius?
I tried that actually, but the damage you take is just insane. When you do that your healer can't spare a global to put consecration (which is = my damage), so in the end the 30% increase didn't mean much because I lost nearly 100% of his damage
Would this strategy be possible with a shaman healer rather than pala healer? And if so, what would you adjust?
Not sure because you'd lose out on a lot of damage, my holy paladin does insane damage. The shaman can only spam heals, have stoneskin totem down for damage reduction and maybe try fire nova totem?

It will depends on the realm really! We've got some orders to boost prepatch already in our realm at 35g per person per run, so that's 35x 3 players x 5 runs, which is 525g per hour. There's quite a lot more gold to be had in vendor too!

Not worth it here because you take so much damage and so few mobs that it wouldn't proc enough to compensate using it

Lol since when have paladins ever been useless? Best healer in vanilla, best dungeon tank in vanilla, one of the top bg pvp specs, could 1 shot most classes if played properly. Better dps than druid , hunter, shaman. Absolute best tanks in tbc..

Yeah I did end up trying to use SFS but it's not so good because of the low armor, no defensive stats *and* low block value. I would definitely not recommend it I think

How are using the rockets on max range so perfectly? I always have the problem of getting over their reach with the mousecursor.
Hum, not sure, I first click the item and then use them where the max is haha, not even sure what you mean, can you explain better?
@@Tedjyt The green circle you place on the ground when using an aoe spell like the rockets here, you can go over max range and then it tells you "out of range" changeing to a red sign on the ground which sometimes is really annoying especially when you are trying to use something like that while running.
It just seemed to me like your cursor was simply locked at max range here maybe i just saw it wrong.

Was the gain from pursuit of justice and parry, worth the loss of 10% extra stamina, from not taking 5 points in combat expertise?
The parry definitely yes, the Pursuit of Justice I'm not so sure. It does also give spell resistance and if you don't have zanzas it certainly helps to kite the mobs in the pull phases!
Tedj friend what professions your should for Pala Gold Farming in TBC?
If the goal is *only* gold farming, Enchanting and Engineering! Enchanting to DE things, and Engineering for repair bots and other utility items
@@iLikeRNG yes which is what I'm doing, and still Engineering and Enchanting for sure for the same reasons. Engineering also has insane trinkets (goblin) for tanking and sappers for threat!
Is XP gained on Beta or in current classic? Xp from boosting will change wont it?

I have about 376 defense which puts me almost immune to daze vs these mobs, and I also jump turn quite a lot! That's the trick mate!

holy nova prolly has aoe cap. even if it doesn't i'm sure damage output would be FAR lower then 2x conc plus reactive dmg from a pally.

They would probably have less damage because holy nova does not scale 1-1 with SP and has a cap, but it might be possible, if a bit slower!
got most of the same gear as you but have aq40 shield and kt healing shield, thinking kt shield for more damage and have 100 odd blessed wizard oil rings different as well got 1 from bronze dragon rep and one from aq40 oh and wrath blade going to get my holy mate to try this out with me tonight thanks for vid :)
I'd go AQ40 shield, the +20sp from the KT shield won't make an overall big difference, if you're more defensive and your holy can put out more consecrations that's more value I think.

Probably the same as dense dynamites, I think in prepatch they don't scale with SP anymore, but not sure, last days are a blur but I think we tried it

Isn't Skullflame worth enought in pulls like this?
I tried but it didn't feel worth at all for some reasons: Block value was really low so I took tremendous more damage, also has less 3% avoidance and zero stamina, and the heals procced so few times that it didn't feel worth. We died a couple of runs using it, and we never died with an avoidance shield

i still don't get how people not know of the /dance emote to get rid of the neutral mobs if you manage to pull them by accident.
We do know about it haha, but they only dance for a bit and then engage combat again, so what we do is just slap a stun and 2 exorcisms and they're pretty much dead!
Skullflame shield sure looks OP now - Why not use it? It's reverted to original stats with increased proc rate.
Healing is nuts
I know it's reverted, we tried it but the tank (me) was getting clapped too hard by mobs, so we decided against it

If you aggro the non-hostile citizens, you can /dance with them and they'll stop attacking and dance for about 10 seconds. I've used this trick to kill these mobs without them casting anything or doing much damage at all.
That is true however they start attacking shortly after so we ended up just stunning or killing quickly. But I could have definitely added this in the video, lesson for the future!
@@Tedjyt True. Could have either player make a /tar spectral /dance macro just in case and hit it when they can spare a sec.
@@kelltik2000 yeah my holy actually had that but we ended up just killing them instead because we're generally out of mana after a pull so we'd lose like a good 20-30secs to kill them
@@Tedjyt yeah, what I'm saying is if you accidentally pull them you can make them dance (and not attack/cast) while you kill them, not dance and ignore them. ;)

As far as I know you can /dance on neutral mobs (citizens) to reset them.
Sadly in PTR they didn't reset, just dance for awhile then aggro again

If you duo this, you can only boost 2 people for max xp effect, aka you cut the income even more.
How so? Do you mean the best XP ratio would be with 4 in group? We found that with 3 shamans in group + 2 boosters they were getting the values I showed in the video, which was 2x ZG
@@Tedjyt According to mob scaling etc. 4 people are optimal. I sadly cant back it up with the math. But others have claimed that's the case while boosting or running dungeon groups.
Thinking about it, I haven't seen anyone do that math for it.
@@jensjensen7504 I see I see. So then I might try it out, but at 5 people in group it's still pretty damn fast, and I've tested with only 1 person being boosted (so 3 in group) and the difference was very minimal, so I'm thinking 3 instead of 2 won't be the end of the world
Why not let the shamans come and heal once you got aggro?
Mostly because of the damage the holy paladin does, making the runs super fast. We'd be looking at probably 17-18 mins or more if I didn't have his damage (usually the same as me) at which point ZG probably is better.
When I do boost my shamans they will come do damage too making it a tiny bit faster!
Wonder how much gold each run will cost.
So I did 5 runs and my shield was yellow, but the rest was normal, so in terms of repair not much.
If you're asking gold, I stand by the ZG prices x2 basically since it's x2 experience.
In my realm 3 people in ZG = 15g each, so I'd do 30g at minimum. Because this is harder to do (requires gear) and so insane, I'd probably do 35-45g per person in group of 3.

that's 185-195 mobs, your addon did count rats/insects too which doesn't give you any exp/loot. yikes
That doesn't really matter, the EXP values remain the same, I never focused on the number of mobs, but on the EXP gained. You can see my last video about it and it has all the values there

Hey dude! I still play WoW for sure, and I'm a big advocate for Blizzard fixing boosting (maybe reduce the XP when a level 60 is in the group) too, but I also find these kind of things fun. Playing around the rules of the game is part of the "fight" between players and developers. Players find something new, Devs fix it, and re-do the dance.

I’m sure some actually play, I got a group 2 times on my way to 60. I’m 57 questing and aoe leveling on my own. I haven’t seen many people questing at all.
Maybe the the 58 boost will help but I’m sure mages will mostly be replaced by paladins now because there isn’t if any dungeons mages can boost players in? 60-70 they are too squishy.

Hey! I've already had 2 paladins in my realm do it in full t2 (the tank) and the healer in some half-decent healing gear (AQ level)!
I hate all kind of boosting. It totally ruins the game. I think most the players are lazy kids with no patience and passion for mmo's

This type of AOE boosting is extremely toxic and unhealthy for the game. It basically makes it so players who has a friend group are all of a sudden ahead in terms of leveling speed. As a new player I find this is a very unhealthy way of leveling for the game. I hope Blizzard nerfs this because new players has no way of doing this. It just causes a huge gap and it's not fair. We should start at the same starting point. Just because u played the game longer and found a social circle doesnt mean new players should get left behind its super toxic.

Wait, this still requires 2 people to spend 50+ hours boosting 3 shamans and it's literally doing the same dungeon over and over again. How long does it take to level up following one of those questing addons? 70-80 hours? You are saving them 20-30 hours each by spending 100 hours yourselves, while making it tedious for everyone. Am I missing something? Sorry for pissing on your parade and I hope they can make it up to you. 50 hours is literally more than a work week for most people.
You mean boosting 10 hours? At level 50 they get one level every 45mins. At 55 it was 1 level every 55mins. Only at 58 it was 1h.
So it's less than 10 hours in total of boosting for 3 shamans

@@Mmaniac93 well I am co-GM of my guild so helping my guildies level up and get shamans up to 60 is something I do to help the guild in general, they help me by being amazing and not triggering me with loot issues haha
