    Tarantino’s face when he said they ran out of money and couldn’t get a professional actor was priceless 😂
    For those of you that don’t know, he went to acting school and was an actor before he directed

    Please Quentin you are THE ONLY director that would do John Brown justice.

    Well, now he's done a couple of movies set around the time of the civil war (Django and Hateful Eight) and he's doing a biopic of sorts (Charlie Manson)... There are however two b-movie genres I'd love to see Quentin tackle before his retirement... Sexploitation and Space Opera. Lars von Trier did do Nymph()maniac that in many ways felt like a Tarantino film... And Quentin has been rumored to be attached to a Star Trek installment. But. I just would love to see these genres through his eyes.

    • @Shteno
      @Shteno Před rokem +1

      Nymphomaniac has to you feeling of Tarantino, and not classic Lars?!?!? JESUS H CHRIST! What r u on?!? Better change that dealer!

      It is a two sprawling epic parter and time jumping exploitation movie with an ensemble cast of excellent actors. Highly memorable and intricate dialogs with very much a focus on acting and deception sprinkled with stylized violence. The soundtrack has striking needledrops punctuating the beats of the story. The whole film is a pastiche on the sexploitation films made in europe in the 60s and 70s that was popular in grindhouse theatres during the time Quentin grew up. Heck, it even has a section starring Uma Thurman, in a bit that changes the aspect ratio and color of the film.
      Yes, it is very much a classic Lars film as well, and I am a big fan of both directors. But... If Quentin did do a sexploitation film. As I've read and heard, it is a favoured genre for him. He might not have loved working at a porno theatre, but he loves exploitation genres. So I do not think a theoretical sexploitation outing from QT would be much different. I would even suggest that the existence of Nymphomaniac makes his version not really needed, so it probably won't be the genre of his fabled tenth and final part of his writing and directing ouvre.
      Oh... And no drugs needed. I am fully capable of going this far up my own behind without the help of mind enhancing chemicals. :P

    Death Proof should have been first. It was a complete bore after Planet Terror. But on it’s own Death Proof is a great film

      Might have been better if it was first, but I didn't think it was a complete bore. I enjoyed them both.

      @M_1995_ I think original post meant that Death Proof is a great movie, but the order in which you were getting them in the cinema when it premiered (Very energetic and action packed "Planet Terror" as first movie and more dialogue oriented Death Proof with great stunt action at the end as the second one) would work better inverted.
      And the flop at the box office could be avoided.

    kinda weird hearing Tarantino express his hatred for biopics now given that there are rumors swirling that his last movie is going to be a biopic on Pauline Kael. Although hopefully that working title "Movie Critic" is just a misdirection and it's really going to be that John Brown movie he talks about here.
