I was at Maclear in 1982 in the last month of steam operation. Your shots are wonderful. The small train, in the distance, dwarfed by the vast landscapes of the Eastern Cape.
These scenes with the two class 7s and the 14CRB+GEA on Montagu are great. I have seen the class 7s in action in person during my 1994 visit of SA, no. 4023 was still at Vryheid, albeit not in service anymore, I was enabled to see the loco in the depot.
