This season necro, then wait for friend to boost me to 70 as soon as possible.

for staters he has the chest icon in the top right which means either PTR Buff or seasonal XP buff.. which is 200% so double this time to complete 1-70

Even with the wishlist premade gloves and cube weapon and 70 weapon you still need self control, great presence of mind, good decisions to maintain these kill streaks. Awesomeness!

Disclaimer should say this is blood tide blade only that can go *this* fast. Necro is still super fast regardless, And no one will have that many materials at season start to be able to craft all the weapons and gear only the materials from challenge rift cache which mostly everyone uses up by the time they re roll level 70 weapon reduced level requirements
Several people have leveled around the same time in an actual season with just the gloves. The weapon helps for speed, but it isn't necessary.

I completely missed that part, and was thinking he must be using paragon without showing us.
I have been yanking my hair out thinking how he was making such damage when I was not, doing same run and basically same gear etc.
Gah, makes such a big difference of course. I'm also STILL not convinced if there are no sneaky paragons involved TBH, I know Rax wouldn't but I'm getting one shotted at T2, so yeah...

RAX! When choosing which waypoint to go to, did you know you can press TAB to view your map, then right click it with your mouse (default button) to get all your waypoints for that act, and right click again to get to choose which act. Not sure if you didn't know that or if you choose not to do that on purpose Nice playing!

I started playing again this year. I wasnt quite sure what all the odd things I thought were consumables were in my stash, found out they were pets(was clueless back in 2017). Then I noticed they pick up gold and was like "WHAAAAAT". The more you know.
Gold is only useful at the beginning. There is a reason most players have a billion gold in their wallet. I gave a new player that amount and got back to it the same day.

hi raxx, have been looking for a progression guide and can't manage to find one, once we hit lvl 70 and get the seasonal set, when should we do nephs? when gr? when bounties? etc
I know I’m not Raxx but a pretty good rule is always be doing grs. When you run out of keys do rifts till you hit a set amount you are going to do at once and then go back to grs. You can go challenge rifts for the few bounty mats you need and then once you are at the point that your next upgrade is add in captain crimsons or auguilds then you can go do bounties for that item. It is definitely a waste of time to be doing bounties before t16 no matter what. It was a random nugget in one of his vids but direct quote was “always be doing greater rifts”. It is by far the most efficient be progressing.

Thats some good gameplay skills....I can never open inventory while moving as I end up pressing nonsense keys and I didnt realise equipping things could be done so fast.
Toward the end of every season I wait for the weekly challenge rift and jump on the other regions where I dont normally play to replicate start of season leveling, followed by, how fast can I get the 4 chapters done.
Each season, in this or any other type of leveling practice practice I do between OK and great, often hitting the ideal, good reduce weapon, good upgrade, good items from kadala (bracers crown ring etc).
Season actually starts what do I get?, reduce by 5, useless upgrade, and nothing but blues and yellows.
So now I spend my time practicing worst case scenario leveling only.....is it easier to just massacre bonus it?, or can I get the materials from rifts to get me something along the way? Either way....that's the bit I need to get better at as the luck is never on my side.
And for those classes where a good item is guaranteed from upgrade?.....dont forget Im a monumental idiot and in the excitement of season start I have (sadly, more than once) upgraded entirely the wrong type of item.....because I'm dumb like that.

With the same stuff over and over. in 500 bs you dont always get the gloves . And you dont always get good lvl reducement on your lvll 70 weapon. I dont know how many season i didnt even get lvl reducemment

I think only 1% for the necro player will do that in 35 min. You need weapon, gloves and a good level reduction on the 70 weapon.
@@DematorLP While it's true you don't always get the gloves, the 2 handed scythe is a bigger one. The gloves are an 86% chance of acquisition. The Bloodtide Blade on the other hand is a 25% chance. You're talking about a 22% chance overall of getting both, but then have only 2 attempts at a weapon along with 7-8 attempts for enchanting a good level reduce, without converting mats.
@@Nytegard just to add on, regardless of whichever 2 handed scythe power you get, it will all be good, since the leveling strategy for necro always revolves around corpse explosion. The powers just help in killing small trash, I.e the tomb roach in order to start a chain reaction

I always want to start Necro because of the leveling speed, but them I remember that all it's meta builds are either extremely squishy to the point of being 1 shot food above 125 OR take either 5+ minutes to kill the RG OR require hundreds if not thousands of rifts to fish the right boss + pylon setup. Or even worse, all of those at the same time.
Barb is at worst 10 minutes slower, and gives you easy access to all things meta with little to no work. Not to mention super HotA this season!

Just leveled a necro as well and learned that if you corpse explode and there is no corpse even if you land it on the target it does not count towards massacre bonus and neither do skeletons. Just a heads up for future.

For Necro, upgrade 2 handed scythes. All are good, but the one you are hoping to get is Bloodtide Blade cause of its multiplier to Death Nova. Then gamble gloves at lvl 1 to get Grasp of essence. Then just Corpse Explosion your way to level 70.
How do you put on the gear you bought from the vendor without dragging it over from your bags? Also great job on the speed leveling!

Thinking of going DH as always next season, but seeing this makes me want to Necro. What's the levelling like doing this method for DH, is there a similar strat that I'm unaware of? Maybe with the fan of knives dagger? 🤔
That dagger sounds good for this strat, especially if you can gamble some wraps of clarity early on, you'll be quite safe. Also, the fan of knives dagger can do higher damage than death nova. However, in general this strat with DH probably won't be as effective as with the Necro because you will be lacking the power of Corpse Explosion.

I decided to try and make a bit of a return to d3 yesterday and made a barbarian. And tbh I've been having fun again with d3.
And here I am, wondering why not lower the torment through the ESC menu. You can lower it, just not raise it.

He quit to lower it most likely to reset the "Tower Of The Firstborn" as dying ruined it.

Monk is in 40 min range if you get boots crudist and weapon roll with level reduction perfect reroll. Up the difficulty really high as soon as you can use the weapon and water allies melt everything. Then drop difficulty as needed.

@@Quinna78 well both barb and necro have very strong endgame options, its only an hr or two of lvling at the start so just pick which ever class is more fun to you
Appears I am the exception to todays players. I could care less about speed when leveling in seasons. Personally I enjoy the leveling process and am a slow and easy kind of player. Cool video though. Thanks Rax.

Crazy leveling , but isn't a bit cheating with all the crafting , I don't think we get that many with the Challenge Rifts !! Correct me if I'm wrong on this , but still , that's a freakin amazing leveling. I'll definetely try it tho !! :)
You can convert materials with death breath at the season. You start with a little under 125, but will pick up a few yellows through leveling). Throw 65 out immediately to craft and upgrade a 2H Scythe. He crafted 4 pieces of Level 61 gear (60 yellows). That immediately would mean he couldn't get any Level Reduce without converting mats, so he would have had to do that to give him 325 starting yellows. That gives him about 200 yellows remaining for weapon upgrades and enchants. Each Level 70 craft is 15, and each enchant is 3.
It's still possible to get the weapon, but would require a bit of luck.
You can craft all of the weapons, and all the low level blue items no problem.
If you can't craft the 61 gear then you've not been looting enough. Some of the stuff inbetween is questionable, but this is definitely doable at season start.
My best attempt non season was about 1 hour. Haven't been able to do it in season in less than 2h yet.
@@stephenbrownca He's gaining massive level boosts between each TotFB run. That means, yes, he's not looting enough, because there's not much to loot. He ran through TotFB about 7x (2 of them being post 61 crafts, so about 5x total by 61). And he avoided elites. Even if he got a Cursed Chest every single time, as well as a Radiant chest, you're talking 3-4 yellows at best per run. And he actually didn't finish half of the Cursed Chest events in the run, preferring to move on so he could keep his massacre bonus.
That's the tradeoff of leveling quickly. The faster you level, the fewer mats you get, including yellows.

It was a best case scenario for sure, still remarkable to get 1-70 under 3 pushing greater rift time. His skills and discipline were tested for sure to achieve that!

How much do we think the bloodtide blade "up to 25 enemies" nerf affects this leveling process? Obviously the Necro will still be a strong leveler, but I'm assuming the times will no longer be this different from all the other classes.
Dont think the change will have much effect on the times.
Since there's not really any impact on the endgame build for Death Nova, the levelling should feel the same as well. Any group with 10+ mobs with pop with a single cast, anyways!
I'll be starting necro, mostly because I want to swap to Wizard but I don't want to play Tal Rasha. MM/Firebirds and the new DMO look really cool though.

Thats why he waited about 1:30 min at the start, you also need to add a few min to do the challenge gr.

Sadly u cant do it on console like this because u cant target ur attacks like u can on PC which makes it way harder to keep the Massacer bonus up.
You can use L2 on PlayStation/Switch (I assume something similar on Xbox) lock a target and the joystick to switch targets. It's actually that massacre bonuses don't work the same way on console and you need to keep up neph glory up to equalize the damage and the orbs drop rate goes to every 50 stacks instead of 10 after 100. I like temple of first born to about 50ish then run rifts and even a few easy bounties to finish it out and start grabbing haedrigs. Craft yellow gear at 30, 40, 50, 61, 70.

I introduced my OH to this game last season (S26)
and she could not manage the EU Challenge rift, so she would be starting with nothing.
strongly recommend trying. Each season its different hope for an easy one, also you dont have to solo it. She can see if anyone online can help. 2 people makes them all cake if you play as well

I leveled up to 70 in 4 hours with necroz onl because RNG didn't blessed me with Reduced Level Requirement for a one handes scythe Level 70 down to 40 with 2K Damage.
Is there a reason why he levels without the enchantress or something?
This is fucking impossible bro, I’ve been following it and just finished at 8 hours. Massacre bonuses are so hard to do and I can’t do them without dying. Maybe next season I’ll really try and get it perfect. Respect ++

I used to always play with barbarian types, but the necro in this game changed that. It’s a cool character with sweet skills; skeleton buddies, bombing with corpses, chubby lunatics or revived minions accompanying.. I just see nothing appealing in other characters anymore🤷🏻♀️

You can now buy weapons from the vendors at level one, significantly better than your followers weapon.

If you don't get 1 shot you can get xp boost by carrying people too.
I carried 3 other people to 70 in 1 season start. 2 hours to get us all there.
It's slower with more people though because stuff hits harder, so it's harder to stay alive and keep your streak.
You used blood tide blade at level 16? It requires level 50 to be crafted
He's using the cube to upgrade a yellow which can be done at any level. Using the mats from the challenge rift cache you can do one upgrade at the season start. You just have to hope that you get a good item from the upgrade and then extract the power to the cube.

I have more or less same gear, same damage, same int/str etc. Mostly same everything damage/toughness.
Of course I am not as pro as Rax but at T6, I am not doing ANY damage. Like none at all. Even at T2, it's not enough to kill simplest of beings so I can spam corpse explode. Like not even slightly.
I do not know if the difference can be explained simply by "Oh he's so good". Yes he is but as I slow down and watch this video, I can see damages and I am NOWHERE near doing such damages. He's mentioning "I'm much tankier now". I have more toughness and recovery and I'm getting one shotted, at T2.

Necro are not good. In ptr, I geared a necro full primal in blood nova set and rathma and both builds barely clear GR135.

How would he get the bloodtide affix before leveling?
Do the weekly challenge, get mats for kadala, roll/up the scythe you get to legendary, and drop it in the cube.

You can gamble for a glove that gives necro like 750-1000% damage on corpse explosion at lvl1. After getting the cube he used another weapon that boost death nova by like 400%. This let him level up in t4-t6
The rest Is keeping his massacre bonus up as much as possible for huge bonus Exp

this video is lame and you might as well get a power level if you're trying to level up mid season, 35 minutes from 1 to 70 is a bit of a long time. If this was at the start of a new season then this vid might have been more interesting, but as it stands currently, this isn't really a huge boast or feat.
If anyone is planning to start barb next season don't make a 2 handed mighty weapon as your level 70 reduce level requirement. I tried it in my practice and it rolls max fury barb. Enjoy your practicing all

@@PuyolsHonor Last season, there were about 4 people who leveled this quickly (3 on EU, 1 on NA). And fewer than 10 across all servers, Asia, EU, and NA combined, who even level in under an hour.
There are just a lot of intangibles with real seasons that add time you can't simulate. You have the challenge rift which adds time to the season start. Then, there's upgrading the vendors. Then season starts are a bit more laggier than doing a practice run ahead of the season. Then, he would have had to convert materials, because he exceeded the materials he would have acquired from the Challenge Cache. Etc.
These all seem like small things, that only had half a minute here, half a minute there, but when you're talking a sub 40 minute run, it's like death by 1000 cuts.
