  • Join us as we experience Hollywood Tower at Movieland Park in Italy! This first generation Intamin Drop Tower opened at the park in 2006 after previously operating at Galaxyland in Canada. Riders climb up vertically before coming to a stop and moving forwards. Following this, letters on the Hollywood Tower signage drop down and the gondola drops vertically, before ending up in a horizontal position!

I honestly think a modernised version of this would be a lot of fun, you know, less janky and clunky - I love how you climb through the structure and are pushed out onto the edge before dropping onto your back.

  • @streamsofconsciousness8651

Tower of Terror when you buy it from Wish lol. I remember riding this ride at Space World at Edimitsu, Japan back in the 80s it was great. That was also when Titan had just become the tallest roller coaster in the world.

To think this was moved to that park all the way from Canada. Lived it’s former life at West Edmonton Mall in Galaxyland (previously known as fantasyland till the mouse had an issue.) the tower was known as the Drop of Doom. Fun to say I have been on it. Fun to see it in action again!

Hey you guys.....we have 3 of these here in California. Yes, they are so much fun and intense to ride. These have been around 4Ever! If you put a coin on your knee while going up.....when you drop it hovers in the air for you to grab; that is IF you are quick enough. Stay 😱😱😱SCARED!! I just talked about one of these on my channel last week.

Hey Shawn, this might be tangential, but have you ever heard of a small, child-friendly amusement park in Chiliwack, BC, Canada, called Dinotown? If not, I’ll provide some context. Dinotown was a small, 18-acre amusement park with a heavy theme on dinosaurs. It featured some memorable attractions such as a train ride around the park, paddle boating, a slidersaurus, and even live stage shows performed by the cast of colorful dinosaur characters consisting of the bones family. The names of these characters were Dusty Bones, Dina Bones, Dexter Bones, and Deedee Bones. It was a wonderful experience for families. However in 2010, the park closed after the park owner and operator, Rob Ell, was diagnosed with a brain tumor the year before. However, after undergoing a successful operation, he rebranded Dinotown as a traveling roadside experience for a few years, with the last venue happening in 2016. The original location has since been redeveloped into a contemporary RV resort. Despite that, some remnants from the theme park remain, such as a colossal Brontosaurus statue, the river that was once used for paddle boating, as well as some scratched out remains from the original signage on that large board you see outside the resort. There’s also a scrap heap on the site with pieces of old Dinotown memorabilia. One thing I forgot to mention is that Dinotown was previously themed to The Flinstones for 19 years before the licensing was lost in 1994. I think this is all you should know. I think you would have loved it.
