I'm really impressed by the action on that piano. I've never heard repeated notes reproduced so fast.
I'm still debating where he might've just hooked up a piano vst, rendered the audio and then overlated it onto the piano video while the piano wasn't even playing the repeats and just moving the keys. I think it was the piano though

No,’it was literally a simple question because automated, computer operated players have been around a long time and the fidelity is simply amazing regardless of the speed of the note. I was asking because this type of instrument and playability is not new. That’s all.
I would think that at some point the momentum of the hammers would prevent the automation from playing the notes in proper tempo. The hammer might not be able to fall back fast enough to be fully ready for the next note, thus causing the 2nd note in a repetitive sequence. Comment DOES NOT APPLY to synthesized piano, but that is clearly a mechanical piano. However, in this case, it is neither the pianist NOR the computer that would fail. It would be the piano itself.

Wow. I have been thinking of MIDI based robotic contraptions for a long long time, and it is clear now that that was all a waste of time. That piano machine thing you have is beyond my comprehension. The perfection in which it plays is better than I could ever imagine a machine doing. I love your new video of your mini plastic piano that you blow into, and plugging that into your car exhaust. That is another option to get real sound from a real instrument, except the noise factor, ...like if were using a blower to run it. Something like that would also be a good robotics project.
