I hit 6K subscribers and I want to celebrate! I am creating a new series that will run in July that will include Junk Journal Tutorials, Freebies and lots of fun! It's my way of thanking all of you for supporting my channel and for being part of my community.
Speaking of community, I thought this might be the perfect time to reviews some of the folks in my community by FINALLY organizing my huge bin of Happy Mail!
One of my favorite formats of junk journals is working in an old Binder, so I decided to create a Binder Junk Journal with the intent of organizing all the mail I've received over the last few years. I'll be designing this project with fun and ease in mind. I want something that will be beautiful, but easy for everyone to follow along. There's even a free digital kit provided by @MadPaperCrush to start us on our journey! Throughout this series I'll be sharing goodies, profiling other artists and having fun!
I'm so excited to start a NEW project WITH YOU! All the details are in the video, I hope to see you back here in July!
Items to gather for this project::
-Binder (Vintage Binder Book, Office Binder or Photo Album Binder)
-File folders or light card stock
-Digital Kit** or found original papers /book pages /scrapbook paper
- Glue, Washi tape and typical Junk Journal supplies
- A hole punch will be necessary if you are working in the binder format.
**I'll be using Mad Paper Crush's newest kit "Atlas, as well as the FREE mini Kit designed with this project in mind!

What a fantastic project Michelle. I have 3 drawers chuck full of happy mail and purchases from Spain, the UK and France. Oh boy...... Michelle, I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to watch this. I got stuck with a crafting problem that I was determined to work through to solve. I wasn't going to give up! Well, I think I've finally found a solution. YIKES!! Anyway, excellent video. I love it. You are so likable and funny! I made a garden journal from a binder. I ended up taking off the vinyl cover to it and keeping the skeleton that remained. This made it easy to cover it with fabric. I love your workspace. I have a dedicated room but it's small and I'm always tripping over myself or something. That's a beautiful kit!

That's exciting. Oh and in case you didn't know...if you have old school plastic binders, if you deconstruct them, often there is great chip board for journal covers in there. Yes, somehow these journals just get big really fast don't they? I think what I really like about the binder is having a place to have future mail "land". Especially if it is someone I write to often, I know I'll have a place to put future letters. Thanks for watching!
Hey Michelle. Found your channel after you left your comment on my estate sale finds. This is a great idea but I wouldn't have any places to mark on a map. The freebie kit Sharon put together is beautiful.

I really need to do the happy mail thing. I don’t know one person around my area that does any kind of journaling
I think we have all been where you are... interested in exchanging or happy mail but don't really have a circle of people to do it with. My advice is to join an online community because swaps usually happen there frequently and it's great to start with a simple one or two person swap that has rules. You can find swaps on Facebook in Junk Journal Communities. I'm also a big fan of Tracie Fox's FOXY CRAFTERS. Start getting to know people in a community and when you feel comfortable with a couple of people message them and ask if they would like to do a little swap. Once you do your first one you will feel more confident and over time you will find a few friends you can regularly send happy mail to.
