@twanomusicreactions Watch the entire concert, he had the Suit special made for this concert. It is red, white, and blue with the stones shaped like Eagles. Close to the end he throws his Belt and puts the Cape on and throws it in the audience. Hope you enjoy it. It’s on CZcams, starts when he gets out of the helicopter. They also raised $75,000 for cancer.

Beautiful man who had so many health challenges it is remarkable that he made it to age 42. Reporter Sally Hoedel, wrote "Destined to Die Young" tells how Elvis's heredity sealed his fate. His mother died at 46 her two brothers died in their mid 40's all because they all inherited Alpha 1 gene. His mother's parents were first cousins. They passed on a double gene which made them all die in their 40's of heart disease, Liver failure and Lung problems. When Elvis was born into poverty in 1935 he had a twisted colon, there was no money for doctors during the depression. He almost died twice as a toddler due to high fever and tonsilitis. He had virtually no immune factors that most people have. He was sick in the Army in Germany and was hospitalized twice for high fever and tonsilitis. He never talked about his health but many family say he always said he'd be dead by 40. In 1969 he had to have emergency surgery to save his right eye from early onset Glaucoma. He used an inhaler for his weak lung problems before and after a performance. He was diagnosed with COPD. when he started traveling for tours and in Las Vegas Dr. Nick was employed full time giving him prescription drugs, as Elvis began to have constant pain in his limbs from arthritis. Like his mother who's health declined in her last four years of life, He started to bloat through his stomach Hands and face, His liver was failing and toxins were not being filtered out. He was experiencing pain in the last 4 years, his skin was a pasty white, he grew weaker and his swollen face looked unlike the beautiful country boy who started out. Hair dresser Larry Geller, said Elvis had a mild heart attack in his presence in 1975, but wouldn't let him call a doctor. He only confided in Larry and Charlie Hodge, his assistant on stage. When Elvis died, the autopsy showed that out of the 11 body systems we have, 9 of Elvis' were blocked. Back then they didn't know much about Alpha 1 gene, and sure Elvis took some uppers starting in the Army and downers to make him sleep, but the use of prescription drugs for all his conditions were because of all his health problems. Interesting is that Sally Hoedel said that if Elvis had never taken a drug, he would have still died in his 40's, just like his mother and her two brothers. Thanks, if you love Elvis, read "Destined to Die Young" it explains a lot about why Elvis did some of the things he did.

For this concert he got sober and lost 30 pounds he looked phenomenal for this performance. I am so happy you are on this elvis journey and have done research keep his name alive TCB another great reaction! Oh and I love the hat on you better and that is awesome you are enlisting and just so you know Elvis served 2 years in the army.❤

That Throw back hat is dope fr. That color & that white T w/ the yellow gold brings be back to the early 2000’s when I was a Teen. I’m a 36 yo white lady from Flint, Michigan. I grew up listening to Elvis because of my Grandma. Now that I’m older I really appreciate him so much more even. Once a fan of his you’ll alway’s be.

He was also very slender back then. I'm not sure what he is talking about. Maybe he is mixing it up with that last performance in 77 of Unchained Melody? I didn't check to see if he reacted to it.

Elvis died Aug 1977 According to his last girlfriend Ginger Elvis really got heavy in the last 6 months before he died. Although his voice and the concert was excellent he just looked a bit overweigh. But considering how ill he was. Really he shouldn't have been on the stage. But his manager was a bit forceful .

This is Five Years earlier than the one you saw with him very overweight and slurring his speech. His health went on a downhill slide in just five years. The videos from 1972 and earlier showed a healthy, slim Elvis with plenty of energy. Even in the Aloha concert he seems to be having problems. It's not the heat - he is taking meds to help him slim down and not sleeping properly. Jittery, zoning out for a split second from lack of sleep with his eyes glazed over and twiching and almost forgetting the words. After 1974 his drug use skyrocketed, his health problems increased, he gained more and more weight, started slurring his lines on stage and lots of other issues.

Aloha from Hawaii was the satellite concert 1973. His last televised concert was June 1977. Two months before his death. Check out the Movie That is how it is 1970. Was filmed over a six day period in Los Vegas.
Something interesting about Elvis he often does his own back up. This is a good example.

After 1973, Elvis’s health issues grew worse and his use of drugs escalated. Little by little, his health worsened until by the last year of his life, his weight increased and his physical health deteriorated. Recommend either reading Destined to Die Young by Sally Hoedel or listening to interviews of her on CZcams to learn more about the nature of his health conditions and how the drug use, which he believed helped him, actually made it worse. It’s a very sad tale. And the people around him did not intervene, sadly.

Not a fan of Elvis’s Vegas years for the most part. Sorry to any superfans out there. I can’t help but wonder what would have happened to him if he’d have told Colonel Parker to shove it before signing that deal, and done the world tour without Parker involved.
Oh, and you look good no matter what you wear, so wear whatever feels comfortable.
