    Love your Podcast. The blanket it looking amazing! Incredible how much you can get done by knitting 10 rounds of a sock per day.

    I think your podcasts are terrific. Your projects are always interesting especially the ones that use small amounts of leftover yarns like those lace designs and your shawls. I’d love to make something blue for my blue-eyed daughter.

    My favorite radio show is called Breakfast with the Blue (s) =). Love how your Harvey Wallbanger and your chicken form your mom's yarns came out! Like you, I usually prefer needles on the blunter end though it depends on the pattern - sometimes cabling with a cable needle works better with pointier tips. Hope you are having a great time at your retreat! Can't wait to see what you bring home.

      Had a great time at the retreat - I think I'll have to record a separate video for all the goodies! Just the initial goodie bag was a full shopping bag of stuff!

    I love the next section on the blanket. I enjoyed making it too. Looking forward to seeing yours put on.
    I just cast off something blue and am about to make a blue themed project bag.
    I think I'll do a Dutch heel technique when I get around to making a Brioclava. I guess Steven made it a sewn flap as that is maybe the easiest way for most people when dealing with brioche.

    • @theyarnrandomizer
      @theyarnrandomizer  Před 3 měsíci

      The heel flap type treatment was definitely more complicated! But I think worth avoiding the seaming. :) I'm looking forward to getting to that next section on the blanket!

    I’m so thrilled that you took my suggestion about the heel and toes for your curio socks! They look absolutely lovely😍 I’m currently sitting outside with my dog and with my feet in the grass, knitting on a linen summer top. The sky right now is my perfect something blue.

      The random picks definitely get me using older yarns and scraps in my stash, but it helps eliminate analysis paralysis too when trying to make a choice of what to work with. :)

    Great podcast as always, and so helpful for ideas for functional use of our single skeins and leftovers. Thank you! I was inspired at a recent Fiber Fair to collect yarns to marl for the Elizabeth Z. Magic Sweater. Something blue would be a lovely addition.

    Something blue! How about an emotional support chicken. I like making them in fingering weight yarn. I am new to your videos. I took a few minutes and watched the three-needle bindoff of the chicken tail. I'll be coming back to that one. Thank you.

    Hi Anna. I have finally finished all of the Snowmen I am making for Christmas gifts so was able to cast on a pair of socks last night using Opal yarn. Something Blue would make a pretty pair of socks as well. The emotional support chickens are cute but I don't think I will be jumping on that band wagon. As I was teaching my niece how to crochet, however, I have joined in on the granny square chicken craze. Your Harvey Wallbanger sweater turned out beautiful and I am looking forward to seeing what it looks like on. Quick question...I am knitting my socks with a K3, P1 rib pattern. My knit stitch before the purl stitch looks great but my knit stitch after the purl stitch looks looser than the other two. Any idea how I can tighten up that stitch so it looks like the others? Happy Knitting!

    • @theyarnrandomizer
      @theyarnrandomizer  Před 3 měsíci

      The trick with going back and forth between knits and purls is how far the yarn has to travel from the previous stitch. Take a look at how much yarn is between the stitches going from k-p and p-k - depending on how you form stitches, this may be different. You may need a light tug to shorten it when going from purl to knit, but that's just a guess. Hope this helps! I just found a video that might help - check out: czcams.com/video/IR1-ga90l50/video.html

    First time viewer. I have a question. I just finished the Be on an emotional support chicken which happens to be purple and gold and I do not like the seam on my tail at all. Do you think I could just take it out even though it’s all put together and then just redo it with the three needle bind off. I don’t think it would affect anything else to you? Thank you very much.

    • @theyarnrandomizer
      @theyarnrandomizer  Před 2 měsíci

      I think the main concern would be where the stitches were picked up for the body. You should be able to remove the previous bind off and cast it off this way, but you may have to use the end to smooth over where it's attached to the body. I think someone on the video for the three needle bind off did exactly this, so it might be worth asking over there too. Hope this helps! :)

    • @kimbarone7409
      @kimbarone7409 Před 2 měsíci

      @@theyarnrandomizer I took out the yarn that I crocheted the back together with then I undid the the bind off on both sides and redid it with the three needle bind off. It looks beautiful thank you.
