My friend recently ended his life Thursday but confirmed friday, and I'm not okay, i acknowledge it and will let grief take its course, I've been trying and trying and trying to get into God again, and this is so perfect timing. I've tried keeping myself accountable and letting God hold me, because I know there's no way i can do this without anyone. This is so helpful Kirby. I know I'm still early in grief but when I lost My Aunt I went to a daaark place, so even though this is super dark and bad..maybe this is God helping me. This message went too long so imma shut up

I encourage you to run to God with this and allow Him to be the source of your comfort, your rest, your peace, and your joy in this process, and every single day! There are not many christian youtubers out there who stay on the hand close to scripture but are on the other so trendy and Contemporary. Keep on going. You do a really great Job. Have you ever heard of Logos Bible App? My hubs used it in seminary. It's so cool, you can click on scriptures and it will tell you the origin and you can find context and lots of other cool things. Great quiet time video, it was actually convicting. I have 2 kids so I need to make this more of a priority. I feel SO good when I spend time with the Lord.

I have delt with my weight for a long time, and now that I have the gift of the Holy Spirt, I feel 10X more motivated, and every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I go to the gym, and after I'm done working out, they have a little cafe in the front where I pour a cup of coffee, pray to not read the book with blind eyes and deaf ears, and go in! I'm reading though the Bible for the first time! Got saved about a month ago :)

Haha, I highlight with a color code in mind. But it’s really cool that our Bibles look really similar. I struggle just to keep up with reading everyday, but it’s encouraging to see that in someone. The Bible used to be overwhelming to me before I started praying every time I read. Best thing I ever started doing. God bless!
This was very inspiring Kirby! I also spend an hour in quiet time each morning. I'm always energised and ready to go because of it. My life is MUCH healthier since I felt God prompting me to start that getting into that daily routine at the beginning of 2015 :)

i usually do my quiet times by first praying once i wake up and before i go to bed.
i then read usually a Chapter or scripture verse from the Bible. There are times when i also sing Worship. But seeing how you spend quiet time with the Lord is very inspirational. Cause i see how much you seek God in His Word and thats something i want to do more.

Wonderful explanation, very motivating! I suggest for you Kirby and anyone else reading this comment: use the E-Sword application to study the Bible! It has commentary, Hebrew and Greek dictionaries, and tons of other tools to enrich your study time. Not to mention it’s free for the PC! P.S.- I love your Quiet Time Spotify playlist and have been using it for a long time.

I suggest reading NKJV Bible version. That is the one I use and I love it sm. The vocabulary is a little more intense we can say but it’s awesome and my fav version 💖💖 God bless

My favorite part about studying the Bible is to understand our entire salvation history from the OT to the NT. The Bible timeline by Jeff cavins is a great resource to understand the bigger picture of the entire Bible.
Like St. Jerome states: to be ignorant of scripture is to be ignorant of Christ.

Mariyah Rutherford id refrain from secular music because of how evil the music industry is in general but allow the LORD to guide you on that and what to listen to when it comes to Christian artists. But secular music is in no way edifying to your spirit.

It depends honestly. I've had God reveal a message he wanted me to hear through secular sources. If it doesn't affect your walk with God/Your heart negatively long term, then I think it would be ok.
The purpose of spending time with God is not to feell better to get all the answers and to get rid of problems it is to gloria y god and to get to know Who is he and everything will follow. We began to understand our situation

This video was amazing !!! I really applaud that you look into the history of what you read, its something that my church have been focusing more on lately and I really recommend this app/website named, ' Blue Letter Bible'. This device actually goes into the nitty gritty of what each word means in the actual language it was originally written in- to me it brings clarity especially if I'm talking to a friend about it and I think you should try it :) .
But yea you gave me motivation to have a specific quiet time with God daily so thank you so much for that God bless you !!!

Hi there! I think it's awesome that you have a quiet time routine and I would also ask that you please consider looking into the theologies of the people/churches that some of our "Christian" music comes from. Some of the teachings are worrisome. I have recently had Yahweh take me through this journey and it was quite difficult getting rid of some music I thought was glorifying but turns out that church was not even really following our Messiah. In all things, pray about it and have the Lord lead your walk! Blessings :)
