I knew as soon as online sports betting got big there'd be gambling addiction. Crazy how it can ruin an athlete's life
It ruins many lives
I believe Nicolo Zaniolo's transfer to Aston Villa only becomes permanent, depending upon a certain amount of appearances, which he has yet to trigger.
the cynic in me thinks he left Italy to avoid a ban in his country at the time
cant believe we have an entire generation of athletes and fans who either cant grasp or dont care about competitive integrity
Not making excuses for the guy but when you have an addiction, integrity is the last thing you're thinking about.
They never did and this has been going on for generations except either it got kept in house or probably some nosy journalist got some tip from a whistleblower.
The internet is forever. That's the difference. Back in the day, you just got in over your head with Russian mafia and they killed your dad.
@@nathanmerritt1581 they can receive plenty of treatment in jail
Yeah but mj had a addiction to bieng over competitive rather than betting against the Chicago bulls...
imagine tonali betting on over 8.5 corners , thats why he shoots from all angles 30 meters from goal
The maximum ban for betting on your own team is only 5 years? That's insane. Don't tell Pete Rose....
Imagine blowing a ticket on poker and still eating
thanks for the free cash Newcastle, rebuilt the whole squad lmao
Wonder if it is wide spread amongst Serie A footballers. Gambling that is.... The authorities need to do more to protect players of this.
@@kwanman5146I'm a Newcastle fan but for sporting integrity, he should rightly be banned and face punishment if he did indeed place bets on football, especially if against his own team as indicated in some reports. Unfortunately this does affect Newcastle's thin midfield.
@RaseYourProbs Milan probably him bcuz they knew about it already
@@sosososososo4148 you'd imagine they had an idea at the very least, to sell their captain, 23 years old, best years to come for 60+mil in these day and age, seemingly against tonali's own choice mere months before this breaks out would seem suspicious. But this is much harder to prove, I fear, its Newcastle that will bear the brunt during his suspension. I'd love for him to be cleared, but I'm fearing something in the region of what Ivan toney got. Ideally it'd be best if they could conclude their investigation towards the end of the season so preseason could count towards the 9-10month suspension if it does come. 😥. Hardly ideal, but he's a young guy at 23, he'd have been committing these offenses at 21/22. So let's hope it's not true, but if it is, he learns from it and recovers to be a legend here as we all want.
@@kwanman5146widespread across the globe 😂
I am sure Milan knew about the investigations and let him go for 80m 😂😂 what a deal we made 😂
55 million
Absolutely no, tonali wasn't on the trasfermarket and newcastle initially did want Barella but he refused so then they did go hard on tonali and the new Milan's owner wanted to start a moneyball cycle so with 80 mln in front of him it was an offer that he can't refuse, if newcastle didn't went that hard for him today tonali would have still in Milan (after finding about this im glad he left, totally shamefull)
Why is betting allowed to sponsor football if betting is forbidden?
Betting is forbidden amongst footballers/ sportsmen / women if they could potentially affect the outcome of a game
You can't bet yourself to come last in a race but you can bet for someone else you not affiliated with to come last.
@@likho8098 it’s not about being affiliated. All these players have each others numbers in their phones.
@@whatyeonabootno betting is not forbidden, for footballers is forbidden to bet on football but they can bet on whatever other things they want
Newcastle did not spend 80 million on tonali
Well there goes my EPL fantasy gem . Any transfer suggestions 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂, Maddison, Paqueta, Ward-Prowse, Bowen, Szoboslzai, Rodri, Odeegard, Rice. Just to mention a few 😅
Toney
I bet Italy will win the European Cup next year. They have never won a big title without any massive scandals 😂.
Before signing these expensive players, clubs need to do a background check.
Do they beat up or bully their girlfriends/ wives?
Have they behaved sexually inappropriately?
Are they gambling in football?
Have they made negative comments about religion or a person's sexual preference?
I bet that Newcastle wished that they did a background check because if Tonali gets suspended Newcastle will be weakened in the Champions League. Hiring a PI could save them millions in the future.
You have a valid point but unfortunately most football players just like humans have skeletons in thier closet. Just with this case Newcastle united will feel like they should have done a background
@SquadronW16Lebelo-zs9qn Footballers?
You wouldn't be allowed to become a school teacher if you had issues with most of the above. Fortunately in society that type of behavior is not the norm
@SquadronW16Lebelo-zs9qn Also with Italy's history with match fixing in 2006 and 2011 any Italian footballer should know better about gambling, never mind the rules in Italian football. If they are using illegal bookmakers, what do you think will happen if you owe them money? They will then turn their attention to matches that the footballers are participating in.
Can anyone tell me if Totanlli will be banned. Why is only Newcastle to suffer from this?
He was caught betting while he was playing at AC. Milan
I think it all depends on what betting it is, and how it affects status in the UK from abroad they might be bans where you can't play full stop in all leagues and competitions. If they don't already there should be a clause in the contract if found guilty of betting when at a previous club they shud be able to retain a percentage of the money on the contract for how long they have played.
Because he’s playing for anewcssstle
You are all forgetting in purpose Juventus and Juventus players like Fagioli implicated as well! Clubs like Juventus, Inter, Milan and Roma are in…
He mentioned Fagioli! But he will get a lesser punishment as he handed himself in to authorities BEFORE they came to him and gave them information to expose this whole affair. Juventus / other clubs are not implicated unless they knew their players were doing it and didn't go to the authorities. Juventus deny they sat on it, and say they were the ones to persuade Fagioli to go to authorities as soon as they found out.
Ban anyone that bet on football. Pretty easy. If he's an addict, have him use some of the million she has been paid to get that worked on. Stop giving them the money they will use to bring the game into disrepute, which is more likely if they are addicted.
They both play in the Premier League
Both from Italy
Just before Italy plays england , this comes out.
If you know u know
Take off your tin foil hat. Investigation started in Italy with the Juve player.
