    Later that year, Bob Kirk will begin his 10 year run at WTVH-5 Syracuse. Nancy Colzan looked so beautiful. Can you guys at Ch 13 please post full newscasts from the 70s ASAP.

    Viacom (yes, that Viacom) owned WAST/WNYT at the time, along with WVIT (its callsign means “Viacom International Television”). I’m surprised that this newscast didn’t end with Viacom’s dreaded “V of Doom”.
    WAST/WNYT at the time might had the rights to distribute Viacom’s shows in the Albany area, including The Honeymooners, Twilight Zone, I Love Lucy, All in the Family, Family Feud, and others.

      If WNYT 13 in Albany still retains its CBS affiliation up to this day even when Viacom would be sold to CBS and now merged with Paramount Global, the channel would have been a CBS O&O station and sister station to WCBS TV in New York City.

      @@JozarS.-ol4fj Meanwhile, WRGB's owner General Electric would have merged with NBC's owner RCA. Thus, making 6 an NBC O&O.
