    I was baptized on Easter back in the late '60s, so tomorrow I'm a-gonna go outside my comfort zone and attend a local church basically to just thank the Good Lord for doing what He did. Don't like singing around others ... and I worry that my breath will stink and that people won't like my face but, nevertheless, a sinner like me needs to do this anyway.
    Happy Easter, Everyone! See you in church!!:-)

    I remember going to this concert when it was on tour. And with all the big names there, all I could remember was how AMAZING Avalon was! Even with all the line-up changes over the years, they've stayed awesome and great witnesses for Christ.

    I've played this hymn many times, sung it many times in its traditional/original format. Love it that way and I gotta say, I LOVE this arrangement too! It's an arrangement that brings the 21st century musical style to one of the greatest and trueist call-to- worship-lyrics we can ever hear! Rejoice! God uses all kinds of ways to reach we as Christians...and also those He wants to call back to Him. If this reaches anyone...believer or not....then Praise God for the joy of music and what it can bring to all! :-)

    And crown Him Lord of all!
    Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
    Ye ransomed from the fall,
    Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
    And crown Him Lord of all!
    Let every kindred, every tribe,
    On this terrestrial ball,
    To Him all majesty ascribe,
    And crown Him Lord of all!

    We all fall short of God's glory. And the only one qualified to judge one another is Christ alone.
    It's very very sad you don't get that.
    I bet you've gone to Church all your life and yet have still missed the biggest point of all.
    This is why Jesus will say one day "Even though you cried out "Lord Lord," I never knew you."
    As you judge other, shall ye be judged.

In fact I'm always so grieved when I hear the Name of our Lord sung in tasteless un-spiritual manner, that resembles to nothing more than pop entertainment. @rjmj33 Pardon me, but getting in a slur against Catholics wasn't a particularly christian attitude either. Where do you get the idea that those dreaded "Catholics" would think they're dressed like harlots!? It's always painful to take part in something with what I think of as my fellow Christians, and get sideswiped by a remark like that. No wonder so many do not believe. Jesus prayed that all may be one so that the world would believe, and we spend so much time tearing each other down.

    Peace?!! In all of your preceeding commentary where is the fruit of the Spirit (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness ... Gal 5:22)? In the words of our Lord Jesus Christ Matt7:1Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

      +Rhodri Jones It seems you are asking, "How dare we enjoy songs that glorify our Lord?" Do you think we will not enjoy Heaven and all His splendor? We are co-heirs with Christ! (Romans 8:17) If we can suffer for Him, we can certainly celebrate with Him! There isn't just one type of music being played in Heaven, my Christian sister.www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+8:17&version=NIV

    • @Brithyll
      @Brithyll Před 8 lety +1

      Hi Michael, I think you misunderstand me. I was commenting by comparison with the original music, but not the words. The original hymn has a dignity to it that transcends much of what we encounter in modern popular music, which may detract from the majesty of the original. I do not condemn it, but merely state that something has been lost. You are in error in saying that there will be more than one kind of music in heaven. There is no scriptural basis for this. We will both sing praises in a way this world has never known! By the way, brother, I'm not your sister, "Rhodri" is a man's name (I was named after a medieval Welsh king)! Every blessing.

    • @michaelg7904
      @michaelg7904 Před 8 lety

      +Rhodri Jones Many apologies for my mistake! Besides that, there is much about Heaven that is not in the Bible. God still speaks. Many things come to mankind through divine revelation. The Bible does not signify the last time mankind has ever heard from God. Could you imagine if we could no longer hear from God? I would have killed myself back in '09 if He did not give me hope in my darkest hour. But He continues to speak through His people and continues to empower us to reach the lost to plunder Hell and repopulate Heaven! Hallelujah my Christian brother! :)

    It's people like them that give true Christans a bad name. I think Dindraen must either be a Muslim extremist -or possibly a Catholic -if he/she really thinks these women look like "harlots."
    Sir,or Ma'am - I confess to knowing a thing or two about harlots. These women are the farthest thing from harlots there can be! Flesh? What flesh?? The women's attire is between business casual and professional!

      +Malcolm Marshall I am not a Christian but it's interesting to watch how Christians argue or disagree with each other over things like musical preference. Myself, watching what was supposed to be hymn, I tend to agree with Bill Sanders after observing them 02:37 TO THE END literally screaming on the mic and shake their little asses all over the stage. They looked more pissed off than worshiping.

      Malcolm Marshall Is this Willow Creek? I was a member there from the beginning (the theatre in Palatine) and thought it was so hip and cool. But now I just think it worldly and smaltzy. Just a matter of taste I suppose...
      I have heard Coral Ridge type organ and choir churches do the same thing. Ruin a perfectly good worship hymn with too much improvisation. I think worship music should be solemn and sacred - not Las Vegas type entertainment. Not drawing attention to the performers, but instead drawing attention to God's grace, power and beauty.
