A guitar playthrough video isnt supposed to the most entertaining thing to watch. It's supposed to be the guitar player sitting and playing the song how it's played on the album so other fellow guitar players and guitar nerds can learn how to play it. Why on earth people are complaining about a guitar playthrough video not being entertaining or shredtastic enough is beyond me.
Guitar World asked her to be in a video and she said yeah. Since her band is on the rise right now, Guitar World was interested in their guitar work. She may or may not know how to sweep the whole fretboard like rings of Saturn or whatever, but she's still a great musician whether you like it or not

She's the rhythm guitarist. A lot of the shit one plays from that position in the band isn't gonna be the most technical thing you've ever heard. If you want to see shredding or more technical playing then ask Guitar World for the lead player.
She's using Drop E, not standard tuning. She palm mutes with open 5 and 6 all the time. You can see at 1:17 she does 3>5 fret 5th string and it sounds D>E, so the 5th string is tuned B instead of the A from Standard Tuning. The riff in 1:48 also uses open E (4th string). E, B, E, A, C#, F# Peace out o/
+alucardgrindcore trust me, just because I'm not criticizing those type of bands doesn't mean I don't have an opinion about them. like another commenter said, some chicks really have great chops, especially some of those in the classical guitar realm, who earn their sucess, and not just garner it because dudes flock to it. so I'm not criticizing her just because she's a girl, I'm criticizing this because if a man was doing this exact same video, no one would bother to take it for what it is. technicality aside she's actually pretty good, but when people start capitalizing on having female pseudo-shredders, like commander in chief, who can't even keep their guitar in tune, yet has a huge following, there has to be some sort of criticism to see through all the social justice warrior bullshit
