Join me as I take my new @zoozbikes UU750 over a couple of crazy bridges to explore some places around NYC! This ride was a ton of fun so sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. Love the new Zooz Ivan! I've always said that the Ultra urban is honestly the prototypical E-Bike for NYC. Super sleek and discreet.
Thanks for joining us on this one Jeff! The Zooz was on my short list of bikes that I wanted so I'm happy to have it. You're right, it looks good and the best part is it's so unassuming. Most people haven't realized it's an ebike so its perfect for my building. I wish that we had our own place because I would like to have something really high performance as well but it's just not the right time lol

That tri borough bridge route is easily the most sketchy route with the stairs and partial fencing on the footpath. I heard that the MTA is planning on making a legit bike path with ramps in the next couple years on the queens and Bronx sides. This will be great news cause the tri borough bridge will actually connect all three boros for PEV riders, not just cars and motorcycles.

I didn't know about that plan from MTA but I won't hold my breathe lol. It'll probably get axed just like the congestion pricing because of "lobbying interest". Also, they said the same thing about the 59th street bridge years ago but they prioritized the cars instead of doing something about that mess of a bike lane. hahaha I'll try to be a bit more optimistic and positive but cautiously since this is NYC we're talking about!

I was pausing your video while looking at this bike and it is absolutely beautiful. I also like that it's a single gear which is the only gear you need on an E-bikes. The headlight and battery placement is also cool. If I wasn't about to spend a bunch of money on an EUC I would look into getting this bike.
thanks for joining us for the reveal and inaugural ride of the Zooz! I 10000000% agree with you. Zooz has such a beautiful minimal design that pulls on those heart strings and triggers the nostalgia vibes. It's so light, so nimble, and so zippy that it's been a real treat to ride around.
Congrats on the EUC! I wish I could get over the anxiety that I get from getting on it. I never fully recovered my confidence after my EUC accident. However, I still remember how amazing it felt to ride around the city and carving on the open roads.

Yea man, I'm bowing out of that money trap lol. Unless you got unlimited funds, getting sucked into that "performance modding/ need the latest and fastest bike " rabbit hole is guaranteed death for your finances lol. I'm right there with you man, I bowed out early and I'm just here to chill and have a good time lol. But if a company decides to send me an electric motorcycle, I ain't opposed to that either lol.

thanks for joining us for the inaugural ride of the Zooz! Yeaaaaaa man, I absolutely fell in love with their design the moment I saw the first saw it a few years back. When I tried JohnnyPrime's bike exactly a year ago, I knew it was going to be a problem because I realized I needed it lol.
The update is actually pretty simple now. Before they had 4 versions. 250 ( EU), 750 the torquey one that I own, 1100 is the faster longer range version, and the UF 1200 which is the suspension model. Now its just the UU and the UF. UU combines the 750 and 1100 and the UF 1200 is still the same suspension bike they made.
Yea man, check out @johnnyprimecc. He's a cool dude and I've been watching his content for a while now. It's a fun take on combining PEVs and Food!
Ughh... theres too many close calls to count lol. Everytime I edit, I cringe quite a few times to see how close I came to an accident. That's even with me being significantly less aggressive on the road compared to my younger self lol.

Yeaaaaa mannnnn. That's exactly the vibes I get from it an that's probably why I'm so in love with the design. It's so nostalgic and reminds me of my chromed out Mongoose ( my first bike that my mom bought me as a kid)

Beautiful commute. I love randalls and i need to get up there for some content. I like the little bridge on 102nd/104th street too. It feeds into a really nice park on the east aide of manhattan too

Now that I have the Zooz, I think I'm going to head over there more often now. That ride was a nightmare with the scooter because it kept spinning out and sliding and I couldn't get the Super up those slick ass ramps! I gotta check out that smaller bridge. The RFK is a pain lol.

cool bike. you may want to swap the mirrors to how you normally have them on the bars. that way you have better side clearance, especially on those narrow paths.

I'm thinking if it's possible to do that with the current handlebars because there isn't really much room despite being so wide. I've been meaning to try end bar mirrors like these for a while but I usually don't because of the width issue like you mentioned. That's why I generally mount the mirrors towards the middle. I'm always worried I'm going to clip some one in the bike paths lol

thanks for joining us for the reveal and first ride! Apologies for the late response again, its been a heck of a week at work but I'm finally catching up with CZcams. The Zooz is definitely a beautiful bike. It's a great take on a nostalgic BMX design. I'm so happy to have it.
The helmet's link is in the description of the videos. This one is called the TSG Pass Pro. They've been replaced by the Pass Pro 2.0, but I think you can still get the original. I plan to have both because I'm going to keep using the blue one for colder weather and the new one for hotter weather.

Ayeeeeeee, thank you! I've been in love with these bikes since the moment I saw the first teasers. I fell head over heels when I got to try JohnnyPrime's bike at the ElectricWednesday last year and have never stopped thinking about adding one since lol.
Yeaaaa... those ramps are crazy because they're generally poorly maintained and barely have any grip! I've tried getting the RX on there and it was just not going to happen. I was going to take you guys on this route when you came to NYC but we're gonna keep it relatively easy lol
Is it everybody moving to e-bikes now? I was looking for a moped style one but prices are a little too high. This model looks perfect.

I'm personally moving towards more of the "class 2- class 3" eBikes because I'm not sure how NYC will start treating eMopeds as restrictions start getting tighter and tighter. I thought this was the perfect incognito bike. Great design that's super nostalgic for me, super torquey, quick enough to keep up with traffic, and a ton of fun to ride!

20 to 30 MPH is plenty for the city but you will get into situation where you will need to do 40 MPH

I agree. 20-30 is pretty ideal for most of the situations in the city, especially if the bike lanes are open in that area. I only really miss the speed is when I'm traveling on service roads/ the Blvds because the bike lane disappears.
What kind of seat do you have on that bike? I’m looking for a comfortable seat and the standard bike seats are painful.

I use the original seat that Zooz puts on the Gen 3 bikes. It's still quite stiff because of the lack of suspension but the seat makes a huge difference and is comfortable. It's no where near the plush ride of my other bike with the huge padded seat and suspension. If you want a seat made with more padding like my Super73, check out Tapia Seats out of NC. They ship across the country and made the seat for my S73.

How’s the height? Is it a good height? Or kinda short?
thanks for joining us for the introduction and inaugural ride of the Zooz! The height is actually perfect for me lol. With the stock tires, the seat height is 30.5 inches. With the new tires that I have, it's probably closer to 31. I'm about average height (5'8) with a stockier build and I can still flatfoot the bike with a little bend in my knees!

2500 bucks for that bike?? Man that seems way over priced for a basic eb.
tbh, it's all expensive and overpriced especially with the new tariffs. So at this point, all it comes down to is does it resonate with the individual and does it work for that person's use case. In my case, it was the perfect option. It's a dope nostalgic design, its super torquey, its quick enough to keep up with traffic, its a true class 2/ class 3 ebike, its a ton of fun to ride, and finally its so incognito that noone bothers you even if they hate ebikes. In my opinion, emopeds/ emotos are a much riskier purchase because we don't know how they're going to be treated as regulations get tighter.
Again, it's really difficult to say what's over priced and what's not because every person has a different idea of "what's worth it"
Hit the nail on the head. This is exactly why I bought my 2024 Ultra Urban. Other e-bikes look like weak motorcycles. The nostalgic design of the Zooz flies under the radar and doesn’t draw too much attention. It’s stylishly understated. It’s also only 65lbs so I can throw it in the back of my truck easily. It has tons of power and torque for hills and is a blast to ride. The range is also very impressive. $2,500 is a steal for that kind of package as far as I’m concerned. I have almost 100 miles on mine and I’m completely in love with it.

First of all, why would your neighbors care what bike you ride? And secondly (and more importantly) why would you give a shit what they think? I could understand if you worked nights and were coming home late and riding a Harley, but you are making no noise.
thanks for joining us on this ride and welcome to the channel Derek. I live in a large apartment building with alot of misinformed folks that take everything the media feeds them to heart. There's been a huge push over the years to really focus making Lithium Ion Battery fires seem like its burning everything down and how "hooligans" are riding around the city on these death traps attacking people. Since that's the perspective they view my eBikes and eScooters with, my neighbors get really mad seeing them and do anything they can to try and get them banned from the building. I have to care about what they think because my apartment building has a board of directors comprised of members with friends (my neighbors) that are anti PEV. We're always one angry person away from creating a snowball effect that could possibly ban any of my PEVs. If I had a home, I would tell my neighbors to kick rocks if they tried to tell me what to do in my house. Unfortunately, I have to play by these rules until my wife and I can purchase a home away from these people.
I hope this explains the situation.
