*"Don't be afraid to start."* That's some sage advice, right there.
If you never start, one day you're old, you look back and wish you'd done all kinds of things. But you just never made the decision to "start" doing.

Advice that goes with ANY endeavor ... 15 or 20 years down the road is coming. It's gonna come! And when it's gone, you gonna look back. You's gonna be happy looking back, or you's gonna be lamenting. Start today! It's not too late folks! God Bless everyone of you.

I have several cast iron pieces that I recently re-seasoned from scratch. Thanks for the videos on doing that. On a whim, I bought a new Lodge cast iron camp oven. Figured I'd have a go cooking something. Jeeze, I didn't know there would be a science to it. I thought I'd just lay it directly on the charcoal and get it cooking. Glad I watched this video before destroying some food. My first cook was on a gas grill in my kitchen to get things started, then moved it to the electric oven to break the meat down. It was no problem since the heat in both cases was well controlled. Thanks for the video. Very informative.

CZcams is like Breathing for me, it's so much information! Someone told me how they used cast iron pots a long time ago, but because I haven't seen it, I would have gotten it wrong.
So I decided to go on the tube, I saw this Clip, and these two love Birds demonstrate the Dutch oven Tutorial very well! I'm looking for those iron stands online for sale, I only saw the Images. And far as a Cake, wow...it will take a lot of practice for a Newbie like me, start with Box Mix. Thumbs Up, and a disappointment anyone give a thumbs down!

You are giving me so much information before I receive my new dutch oven. I ordered one a few days ago and is planning on using it upon receiving it. I live in a rural area and since we do lose electricity several times during each year so I need something like that to cook food with in that case. I was raised using a large pot in the yard and it was used to heat water to wash clothes in and then used to make our cooking lard, and making cracklings with. My grandmother used her wood stove to cook on and she had a cast iron skillet to cook with and I still have that skillet and continue to use it. I thank you for the tips on using the dutch oven and I hope to get the most out of it along with the skillet I have.
