My name is Nat and I am a gothic operatic singer, actor and voice artist based in the heart of Kent, England. Music has always played an important part in my life as a musician and I love to use my platform on CZcams to share it in my music reactions.

Very underrated song, its beautiful Marco does such a fantastic job of singing it.
Such a "small" song, with such a big impact.

Troy is a damn good guitarist. He plays it like his pipes, and just wrings the emotions out of it.
Love the look my Goth friend. A little kabuki influence? Marco does have a great sense of humor. Nightwish has so many different textures. It is remarkable. Isn't it shocking to see Marko with his intimidating look singing so gently? I have one word, "sublime". Floor is slowly coming in to sing backup to Marko. They are so good together. The light and emotional side of this amazing band. Great to see my favorite reactor. Be well Nat and stay DARK. Peace.

Tuomas and Marko wrote this song together for a Finnish movie named "The matriarch" in English. The official video contains clips from the movie. Recommended watch.

Great song for Marko to show this soft side of his vocals. And Marko always sounds good when singing with a female vocalist. He knows how to adjust his voice to whomever he's singing with. He told in an interview years ago that many female vocalist fronted bands ask him for collaboration. Marko said something about the beauty and the beast.
He has many times featured Delain on stage and on at least one album.
I think of the three Nightwish female vocalists Marko sounds best with Floor. With Anette Marko had to hold back not to overpower her, and I guess Tarja's operatic vocals were not always as good a fit with Marko's voice. But those two sounded good together on many songs.
Marco's stuff with Delain is amazing. I love that band.
I've said before that with Floor Marco can spread his vocal wings.
Tuomas made this for a 2007 movie called Lieksa! , Floor Jansen was not in the band , so she was not written in to the song until much later .

I disagree, I think the Marco-Anette duetts are what make Imaginaerum a great album.

Marco is a powerhouse singer in his own right. Nightwish has two lead singers.
People keep saying that a botched throat operation years ago robbed Marco of some of his high end. I don't know if this is true or not. He sounds pretty damn good to me!

It amazes me that after all of the centuries it took to develop the human languages, we still have no way to describe how Nightwish makes us feel. When people ask me why I love the band so much I'm always at a loss for words.
Tuomas Holopainen is the Steven Spielberg of metal. He just knows exactly how to wring the emotions out of you better than anybody.

I know what you mean; there are not enough superlatives in the English language to fully express the positive greatness that this band commands. Each member is world-class at what they do here and put together, this is the greatest band ever.
It's not JUST Floor, though she makes for a TERRIFIC frontperson and all-around performing artist.
It's not JUST Kai, though he is an AMAZING drummer (the heart and soul of every band that ever was).
It's not JUST Tuomas, though he is already one of the greats among lyricists, composers and musicians and who for all intents and purposes IS Nightwish (because he is the original founder, it's really HIS baby).
It's not JUST Tarja (a fellow founder), though she is a vocalist supreme and Nightwish just is not the same since her parting (and never will be).
It's not JUST Emppu (a fellow founder), though he is a Holy Rock God and should also be teaching Guitar classes on the side.
It's not JUST Jukka (a fellow founder; I absolutely cannot leave him out even if he is now in a behind-the-scenes position, because God knows that Nightwish would not have been Nightwish without him on the drums originally).
It's not JUST Marko, though he has technically been singing since before Floor has and can definitely hold his own.
They are ALL Aces, each a Master of their craft! But this band has somehow become something much greater than the sum of its parts! That is why they are so loved the world over! :)
Actually “Floor” and “Fleur” are both fitting since both translate as “Flower.”
The gizmo Troy's using on his guitar to produce those long, smooth notes is an E-bow (Energy-bow). Battery powers magnets either side of the string to make them vibrate. I've had one for 40 years and still can't play it that well.

We live always in troubled times and we all have pet martians, of course 👽. But this is a very beautiful little song. I like it a lot. It's originally from the Finnish movie "Lieksa!" (Pölönen, 2007). And "Flöör" as a backup singer. Great! 👍

Ah, I was at this show. Last show of their tour amd a very enjoyable evening. Floor is always great, I remember her from her early band After Forever. Was a great vocalist then as well.
Marco I can honestly take or leave and do find he can be a rad 'marco plus support' at times?. However, loved Nightwish from the Pharaoh says of Tarja. 😁👍
Marco has a solo album called pyre of the black heart you should check it out I recommend the songs ,my father's voice,stones,and star sand and shadow,and it is very much worth listening to the entire album not just in English but Finnish as well really hope you check it out enjoy

Marco is hilarious. When he first joined Nightwish Tuomas had to tell him to pull back a bit on his stage banter because Marco would go full metal and be like "WHAT'S UP, MOTHERF**KERS!!", and he had to be reminded that there were a lot of young girls and their mothers in the crowd.
Well, that explains why it's Marko who taught me my first two Finnish cusswords - always in the older shows.

I had advice for you as 1 person, to hear my advice, you listen or not, I don't know.
I have to say, try not to lose simplicity and look around you need.
I believe that if the Creator - God wants, you are definitely a good person an you will not lose that character in any other way of life God willing.
I would argue with you about the "never before have two voices fit together so well..." statement...the two ladies of ABBA sit on top IMO....and I'm a huge fan of the Marco/Floor matchup...throw in the Bee Gees too....
