This was such a great interview! Jimmy seems so at ease with you. I went looking for some good music in CZcams this spring as covid began. I wanted something that would be a counter action to the days that we would be facing. I stumbled across the Statler Brothers. They grabbed my attention right away. I grew up in northeastern Massachusetts during the fifties. Country music at that time was available on the radio. I knew the words to many of the songs from an early age. In my teens, I gravitated to the Kingston Trio and their harmony. Listening to the Statler Brothers was like heading back home to the music I love. It wasn’t long before Jimmy’s voice just came breaking through to my ears. I can listen to his cds repeated over and over again. Then there was Brotherly Love! I sure do hope we get more. I love all their voices and their harmonies. But still it is Jimmy that has my ear. It’s not only the voice, but the emotion in his music that makes him so outstanding. Thank you, gentlemen, for the pleasure of listening to you both just chat for an hour. This has made my day, a couple of believing brothers.

Jimmy, looking forward to your book. I have watched you talking to several interviewers and if you tell everything in the book (including the things that might be painful to talk about) it will have the makings of a great movie. I don't know if you have thought that far ahead but I am sure there are film producers just chomping at bit to turn your life story into a film. Your life has been amazing as those of us who follow your career already know and everyone needs to know about all the blessings God has sent your way. I hope the down time of these past several months has let you work on the book. God Bless You Jimmy!!

Jimmy is a class act. And ironically he is the only Statler who gives Lew Dewitt his due. Jimmy revered Lew and often spoke fondly of the friendship he had with him. After Lew's departure, the other 'brothers' seldom mentioned him and seemed to get acutely uncomfortable every time his name was mentioned. While Jimmy is probably the better singer, Lew's talent was undeniable; and if not for him (composing 'Flowers on the Wall' which was clearly their breakthrough song), there might never have been a Statler Brothers! (or at least one you'd ever have heard of). Thanks Jimmy for being an extraordinarily nice guy. You deserve your 'fortune.'
