I'm still yet to do my first solo wild camp... you make me really want to just bite the bullet and get out there and do one!
I don’t blame you, I was nervous on my first few alone, been wild camping for years with my partner but never alone until about 3 years ago. Best feeling of independence and freedom ever.
Maybe wait until spring and then just make sure you prepare and make a list so you don’t forget anything. Also research, wherever you want to go, you should really go for a recce first time just to make sure it’s ok, no grazing livestock or uneven/boggy ground. Once you visit the area you know what to expect. Just go with the mindset that you can leave and walk back to the car at any point you want if you don’t feel safe 👍🏻 you’ll love it.

I'm part of a great and friendly online Whisky community , pairing a good malt with chocolate , even better Dark chocolate is a great combination . Again a great video the sound of the rain on your tent is so relaxing , :) . seen a few things on your camping list i'm going to look into getting . Cheers Amber .

I actually work in the NHS so might pitch it 😂 I will be doing some again soon with words, I’ve had a virus/cold the last week so it wouldn’t be the nicest sounding at the moment 🙈

Hi, Just discovered this channel. Excellent videos. Very calming and inspiring to watch. I'm still trying to build up courage to go for my first solo wild camp. Whisky and hot chocolate is a great combination. I do tend to go for a bourbon or JD for tipples in other drinks. Never like mixing my single malts, but that's just me 😀. keep up the fantastic videos and enjoy...

Hi Amber, enjoyed the video very much and I have a couple of questions about the gear. First, is that really an MSR Elixir 1 tent? It looks nothing like the one in the affiliate link. Second, the little light you hung in the tent - again the link goes to one that's battery powered but in the video, you light yours with a match. Can you clarify? Many thanks!
Hi Rob, no it’s the Southern Cross one tent I used. It is also linked in the gear list. I put all the gear I regularly use in the gear list. I forgot to pop the UCO lantern in - so have updated it! :)
I could start putting stars next to the gear that I’ve used in each specific videos, it might help identify which item is which. Thanks for pointing it out.

Hi Phil, funnily enough I was planning on doing an ASMR style video soon!
We’re lucky enough to have access to a drying room for wet gear in the business next to where we live, so that’s how I dry my tent out. Otherwise, I would probably have to hang it over a clothes horse next to an window open 👍🏻

😅 I’ve never thought of that. I wish it was, they make lovely gin! I did miss cuddles with her but she’d have been scared stiff - she hates the rain on the tent noises 😢

Hi amber,iam planning to go to snowdonia this month,quick question,ive seen on various websites that wild camping is not allowed,is this correct?
Ive seen on the visitor website there is a list of farmers who allow wild camping,bit confused,as i dont want to upset anyone,as im planning to go for a few days,any advice would be appreciated 👍
Hi Pete, no technically, it is not legal. However, as with many other things, it is generally accepted as long as you follow the simple leave no trace rule, pitch as close to dusk and dawn as possible, and away from any livestock/houses/roads, leave if you are asked by a landowner without any fuss. Best to go high up if you can. Basically, be respectful of the land and the people who live nearby. 👍
