They've definitely stepped it up even after losing CJ. Most bands in the deathcore scene would consider that a detrimental loss but these guys are killing it

IF this isnt drumsamples or programmed drums, his parts have been editited until his own human playing became unrecognizable.Which is standard today. We dont hear the drummer anymore
I love how they’ve have managed to create a different-feeling album while still retaining the heaviness. This album is just as good as Disfigurement if not better

I'm soooo happy they fixed the malevolent enslavement mix that song sounds insane. This whole album is insane thank you signs of the swarm for coming into my life with such beautiful music. I couldn't believe the transitions into each song, that just blew me away 🤘🤘🤘😭❤

The music reminds me of old school fit for an autopsy but rendition for 2019. I fell in love with this whole album. SOtS is damn brutal!
this album was better than I expected. while I still prefer CJ if I had to pick, David is an exceptional replacement. I also loved the fast breakdowns and the eerily melodic elements
Why is nobody talking about this as one of the albums of 2019? Has everything - amazing varied vocals and some great playing.
I've seen/heard numerous folks call this their AOTY. It's number two for me. I like BDM a LOT, so Sobek's debut, "Illusions of Lunacy" is AOTY for me. This is in my opinion, the best release from SotS. David is a great fit on vox for Signs, he really impressed me, especially after watching that live video from the foundry!
Justin Cook Malevolent Enslavement is just epic.
It is indeed! There isn't a single track that I skip while listening to Vital Depravation, but the standouts off the top of my head are as follows: Celestial Ascendance, The Blood, Malevolent Enslavement, and Crown of Nails.
Justin Cook can’t fault that list in any way. I’ve come to this band late, but am genuinely excited to have, finally, discovered them. The dexterity of vocals is quite astonishing. Impeccable screams and immense gurgles and pig squeals.
Justin Cook it’s a truly amazing album. The variety of growls, screams, gurgles not to mention pig squeals is phenomenal. If that’s the way music is heading...I’m happy.
Really nice album...I was worried I wouldn't like it, since I'm not a fan of the singles they put out. I really like the fact the drummer used two snares on this. I'm also very satisfied on how the mix went...

You either put memes in your music, chose a funny band name and reach some kind of success or just make serious music and stay noname because there is way less real enjoyers of heavy music than it appears.

I've been into deathcore for years now. I totally understand that most people would prefer other albums/bands over this, but I feel this is the album I've enjoyed the most so far. I really hope I get to see them live sometime

Here's my review: Artwork: Amazing. Music: Solid, but not flawless.
I had no problem with the instrumental but the vocals were heavily distorted, which I have mixed feelings about. On one hand, it gives it a cool inhuman sound, but on the other hand, it lacks a certain clarity. Malevolent Enslavement was remastered, which I appreciate but I think they could've done a better job. In terms of heaviness, this is definitely one of the heaviest albums I've heard this year, and for that I really enjoyed this album.
Over all, I would recommend this and I will be buying merch.
I think the band is just done with advertising themselves with that bullshit vocalist gimmick that they did on the last album. That’s kind of why it sounds the way it does (at least I suspect so). The riffs and songwriting are definitely the highlight on this album.
