I read her book and although I've never had an eating disorder, nor do I know anybody that has - it really puts you into the mind and habits of someone who needs help. A very enlightening book and wonderfully written.

I have suffered from an eating disorder and still am but I am not ready to let go...anyways I really loved Portia's book! She is a role model to me!!

i think portia said she prefer female interviewers for her book. i guess it's because the book is about women's body image or something like that..so she wanted someone who can more relate to the subject.

@MirandaAugust64 : She was talking about when she was closeted she wouldn't do interviews with guys with late-night shows, because she was scared that they would ask her if she had a boyfriend, and she didn't know how to answer that.

@MirandaAugust64 apparently she said she'd prefer to speak to women, but as ryan is a close friend of hers, i guess she made an exception :D

@MirandaAugust64 She said she didn't want to do interviews with the late night guys because they would ask about her relationship status, and she didn't want people to know she was a lesbian. So she opted not to do interviews. Now that she is out, she does interviews and promos.

@SummerSunshine1988 well no actually she and ellen both dont want her do do male interviews for her press for her book. only for book-related she even was asked by some radio show to do an interview, and she sed yes but only if a female wud interview her (two men were going 2 in the beginning)
